A good find in a small country town. Friendly people and surroundings. We both had chicken parmigiana was as good as we have had elsewhere. Will definitely come back when in the area again! read more

Then again, it is located near the main town centre, and as such it does happen to attract numerous holiday makers. One thing that stood out is that it had a pretty cool beer garden, and the service wasn't bad at all either. Yeah, I liked it, even though the beer selection wasn't too great. However, it was a pretty nice pub to visit.

While the beer selection was a little limited, the place really wasn't all that bad, Anyway, as I…read morehave mentioned previously, I tend not to expect a great range of beers when it comes to country pubs, and this is certainly one of them. Yeah, I have to admit that I did find this place to be rather nice and pleasant, and the service wasn't too bad either. Sure, it was quieter than some of the other pubs, but it still did have some charm.

Well, this place certainly does go off on a Friday night. In fact I really did get the impression…read morethat this place was more a night club, at least on a Saturday night, and at least in one of the bars. I guess the young ones do need a place to all go and congregate, and this pub certainly does seem to be it. It's not as rowdy at other times, though it still seems to be rather popular. I liked it, even though the beer selection is still somewhat limited. Oh, and it also has a nice beer garden as well.

Still, as a pub it certainly wasn't bad, and it still had some of that old colonial charm about it, despite the fact that Wallaroo used to be a port town (and still is in a way). One thing that stood out was that rather nice beer garden out the back, something that I certainly did appreciate, and the friendly service that I got here as well. However, they didn't have a great selection of beers on tap, but then again, it does happen to be a country pub, so I guess I probably shouldn't really expect such.

Yeah, I actually quite liked it, particularly since I discovered that the staff here were really helpful. In fact this is one of those pubs that does have quite a lot of charm, and the front bar is set up pretty good as well. Look, while it doesn't have the best selection of tap beers, it does make up for that in quite a lot of other ways. Yeah, this pub was pretty cool actually.

We walked into a lovely large open space, with a tranquil pond in the corner. The waitress could not have been nicer setting us up next to the pond and adding an extra chair for us to attach the booster high chair to. There was a salad and veg bar that looked quite nice so I opted to have wedges and salad and veg bar. The reason this pub is getting a 3 star review is I paid EXTRA to have salad and veg bar and 10 minutes after getting my wedges they packed the salad and veggies up so I only got one tiny side plate for my money. Not very impressed. The staff and venue are worth the 3 stars and I think if they hadn't packed up the bar it would have been a 5 star review!

However, the catch is that while it is a short drive into town, it is a moderately long walk there and back. However, the motel isn't bad, and it certainly does happen to have a decent place to grab a meal, and the views, particularly from the restaurant, are pretty good too. Mind you, checking it can be a bit tricky during the day, namely because you have to go down to the caravan park.
Kernewek Lowender 2013 - Cornish Gourmet Dinner…read more What an extraordinary evening in this quiet little town! A celebrity chef, Sophie Budd, had been flown in from Perth. The food was wonderful and the wine fitted perfectly. The ambience was also warm and welcoming. We were very pleasantly surprised, and despite our early expectations of semi-rural Yorke Peninsular, this evening was better than anything we've seen in Adelaide. The guest chef was supported by the regular team, who all performed really well. Apparently the proprietors are looking at repeating this experience again in the not too distant future, with other guest chefs. We had a lovely time, and we will definitely be back!
