Soooo much food, salsa and sides!! But that rice + grilled veggies though... OMG!!!
Mrs. Nic L.

My original go to I was unavailable and their choice was charging me $25 per person then four days before the event they wanted to charge me $700 to feed 18 people. I then began scrambling and reached out to this company, and for 18 folks, I ordered 65 tacos in steak and chicken, and cheese, steak and chicken quesadilla and a pan of beans and a pan of rice and oh my goodness so many sides it was amazing. I even Amazoned chafing dishes with burners at the bottom to them to them!! They gave me plates forks gloves additional containers and everything...They were so accommodating so professional it was insane not to mention the veggie option was grilled onions and bell peppers and it was sooooooooo good!!!!! This food was absolutely amazing and it was incredibly affordable!!! I will forever be a customer of theirs I am incredibly impressed with the prices and the flavor because my favorite thing was the rice. Absolutely incredible!! We all got to take home to-go plates and my fiancé looooves it too... Customer f o r e v e r

Dead roach on top of rice.

First of all, let me start by saying this. Recently, I was promoted to a new job that is very close to this Alfaro Catering Food Truck (ACFT). My new colleagues highly recommended this food truck as a great place to get some good Mexican food. I've eaten here twice within the past couple of weeks. Today, I ordered 2 super tacos- which also came with beans and rice. I paid, received my food and walked back to my office. After washing my hands I opened the container. I took a bite out of one of the tacos. "Delicious!!!" I said to myself. I reached for my fork to dig into the rice, and oh snap... guess what I saw... a f*ckin roach. Long story short. I got my refund. The worker apologized. I can tell he felt really bad. But, so are the roach images that I have in my head.

Always love coming to the mission , my food expectations and needs when it comes to Mexican cuisine are always met here . Today i tried out Alfaro's and it was the best decision that I've made today . I ordered the lengua torta with a nice cold sprite for $11 . This is a deal when it come to eating in the city. The buns were nicely toasted which gave the sandwich a nice buttery crunch which complimented the mild sauce smothered tomatoes. Definitely a go to staple now when i return

Love SF! You can walk by a random Taco truck and get some solid tacos. Alfaro slings well sized tacos with some good heat in their sauce. I might skip the carne asado next time and only get the pollo and Carnitas

Taco truck as seen from accross the street.

Great taco truck set up near Four Barrel, almost directly accross the street. Decided to try it out and I'm glad I did. Cheap, fast, and good. The tacos are stacked, cheap, and come in traditional taco truck style. The carnitas is well done, crispy and tender, and the Carne asada is tasty. Super tacos come with a side of rice if you are really hungry. Burritos are very filling, lots of meat with some rice and beans. I got the super for added guacamole and sour cream. Menu is pretty simple. But I did have someone behind me special order a quesadilla and a vegetarian burrito so it looks like they take special requests as well. And hard to beat $1 horchata. Protip: order the carnitas tacos. This place is simple, doesn't have a lot of fluff, but the food is oh so delicious.

Tacos El Patron is still my go-to spot for birria tacos in the city…read more Food: I first discovered birria tacos during the pandemic and went on a mission to find the best one. A coworker recommended this place, and now I recommend it to everyone. What stands out is the balance--everything is done well. The meat is rich and flavorful, the tacos themselves are just as good, and the consommé ties everything together perfectly. I've tried places where one part is strong but something else falls short, but not here. You also get free sides like onions, cactus, radish, and beans, which make the meal even better. I've been coming back ever since, and I can easily finish three tacos in one sitting. On my most recent visit, I had two birria tacos and tried their birria ramen. It was surprisingly good--comforting and flavorful, more like a homemade dish than anything instant. For drinks, I've tried all their jugos, and the jamaica is the standout--get it in a large. Service: Friendly, efficient, and straightforward. Orders come out at a good pace, and the staff keep things moving even when it's busy. Ambience: The space has a Frida Kahlo-inspired design, which adds character and makes it feel lively and unique. There's one restroom available. Parking: Parking can be a bit difficult in the area, so expect to walk a little--but it's worth it once you get your food. If you're serious about finding a really good birria taco, this is one to try.

Tacos El Patron is worth the effort to figure out where to park, etc. it's not quite a hole in the wall, but it definitely is on the smaller side, and we ended up getting food to go because it was just easier. The birria quesadilla was a total surprise. It was FILLED with a very generous amount of meat. The meat was tasty, lightly seasoned, and the portion truly is a shareable. We asked about the consommé and I don't know if they just forgot it or what happened but we never got to try it. The shrimp taco was tasty and absolutely filled with again generous amount of shrimps. Ironically, it wasn't my favorite. It just was lacking the level of flavor that I really wanted. The Carne Asada was mediocre at best and not something that I would order again. The winner out of the numerous items that we ordered was the pork belly and the Al pastor. Between the two, the Al pastor is the one that you want. Incredibly well seasoned, a nice hint of light spice, the meat was juicy and tender, and the combination in the taco was outstanding. Seriously so good that my mouth is watering just thinking about how tasty it was. The chips were nothing to write home about, and I didn't really care for salsas that came with the meal. Really reasonably priced, generous amount of food, and absolute worth the push in enjoying their food! Diners tip: there seems to be a description in cost between ordering online versus in the restaurant and you may get a better deal ordering online

On a Saturday night in the Castro, this corner of 16th and Market is already poppin' with area bars so while they'll rush out with your order curbside, my son dashed in for speed. Super friendly service, cute cafe tables for dine-in, Tacos El Tucan is now on the dining circuit. Love this spot and it's close by, too. The staff here are very friendly, but please make sure you accommodate because there is a lot of people waiting in line so I'm not saying eat your food fast and leave. This place is famous for their burritos and especially the "Dorado style," which tastes amazing -- BUT what they don't clearly disclose anywhere is that the Dorado style burrito is cooked in pork lard unless you specifically ask for it "dry" or with vegetable oil. As someone who does not eat pork for religious reasons, finding that out after already eating there was honestly really upsetting. And the frustrating part is that there is NO clear sign or disclosure telling customers this. If I never asked, I would have had no idea. I actually still like this spot and appreciate that they at least offer a dry/vegetable oil option if you ask, but customers should not have to investigate ingredients themselves to avoid pork. Jewish, Muslim, vegetarian, and other customers deserve transparency. A simple sign or note on the menu saying that Dorado style is prepared with pork lard by default would solve this issue completely. Great food, but this absolutely needs to be disclosed better. One of my all time favorite spots in general.
