    (update 3/21/21) I must update my review after a very disturbing encounter with the owner Keith…read more After being a loyal client for about 1.5 years, I was following his cancellation policy (I texted him at least 12 hours BEFORE our next session), he agreed via text it was ok to reschedule (he does this for all clients as long as it's within the policy window outside of emergencies, pretty standard). Then, later that week during my session, he seemed very angry but incredibly passive aggressive. He said I could not reschedule and he's keeping my $75 for that session. I was shocked, caught off-guard because I followed his guidelines. I went back and looked at my texts, not only did I follow his policy, but we supported his business through covid so you'd think we would have at least ONE conversation over the 1.5 years in regards to rescheduling or his dissatisfaction. Since day 1, I was very open about how we needed flexibility in our busy schedules. Later that week, he texted me wanting to drop us as clients (surprised, but completely fine with it) and said he'd refund my 8 sessions for the rest of the month. Well, I can clearly count to 9, so I let him know he owed me for 2 sessions (Sunday + this one). Yeah, he tried to steal from us 2 times. I gave him a chance to explain himself, this was the professional and kind response I got from him via text, he told us to go F*** ourselves (see screenshot, thanks Keith for the evidence!). I also noticed he did not honor his off-peak hours 9am-11am at $40/session. Beware of this owner and his business practices. I will be going back to all my monthly Venmo payments to ensure he didn't overcharge us. More than happy to resolve this issue still and looking to get our money back. Next step will be to report to consumer protection bureaus. I will update this review if anything changes.

He's also very flexible in terms of his appointments and can vary the workouts/training. Plus the first workout is free.

Her highly personalized approach has me looking forward to my workouts, not dreading them as I do most exercise! Update: OK folks- it is several months later and I am still at it. I am in my early 70's, and am amazed how well this works. My strength is increasing monthly, my gait is strong, and it has even improved my concentration. I am able to maintain a healthy weight- always hard for me before! Well worth it both financially and in improved health. Update #2 -5 years in and still a happy camper. I have worked with 3 trainers over my 5 years and each has been excellent. I am now 75, and probably the oldest student. Today I had some strength training done at a doctor's and he commented on my awesome hamstring flexibity and overall strength. Asked if I was a dancer and said, "Well you should be." when I said no." When I got here 5 years ago, I couldn't stand on one foot for more than 5 seconds, and the idea of a plank had never entered my mind! Needless to say, I am a convert to weight training. Prior to that, I generally worked out 6 days a week because I genuinely enjoyed it: three days of cardio and three days of strength training. I had to drop the strength training in November 2015 because my heart felt like it would explode. Fast forward to June 2017 when I started doing pilates. I LOVED getting back to using my body and thoroughly enjoyed working with my instructor. I saw her weekly until August of 2019 when her schedule changed and I couldn't make any other time with her work. So then I spoke with Jennette, the owner of 5:17 Total Body Transformations, about her programs. She had a thorough conversation with me about my health concerns and the fact that I haven't done any strength training in four years and that exercising had triggered relapses in the past. We decided on a plan of action and the last week of December 2019 marked the end of three months of doing one day of strength training a week. It feels so fabulous to push myself and I've lost about 5 pounds already. Bonus! Aside from the obvious health benefits, I'm SO impressed with this company. Both Jennette and my trainer Sarah checked in with me frequently when I first started to see how I was feeling after workouts. I've gotten handwritten postcards, holiday cards, and other personal items mailed to me. And last week, we all got these little goodie bags with a calendar with a handwritten note, pen, and magnet in them. These women clearly care very deeply about their clients. If you are looking to improve your health and wellness and want someone to truly care about you as a person and will be a champion for your progress, I cannot more highly recommend that you give this business a try.

I've followed him from one gym to another, and seeing him open his own gym has been incredible. He's a former IFBB Pro bodybuilder, and his clients feel that level of expertise in every session. When I started, I thought I was already in somewhat decent shape. He took that foundation and transformed it into something I never imagined. I still can't believe how different my body looks and how much stronger and more athletic I feel. What sets him apart is how far beyond "personal training" he goes. He's practically my nutrition coach as well, always helping me dial in my diet and even encouraging me to get my bloodwork done so we can optimize everything. He reviews it with me and explains what matters and why. He's meticulous, engaged, and always teaching, constantly bringing new ideas and techniques to keep things effective and challenging in our workouts. It's clear he genuinely cares about his clients and their results. If you're looking for someone who truly knows what they're doing and is fully invested in your success, I can't recommend him and Built Fit Gym highly enough.

She has put me through diverse workout routines based on goals we discuss, and we have so far hit each and every goal! And I was not an easy case. I was a case that needed attention to subtle detail, to eliminate injury/cheat patterns while increasing strength. She has a focus and understanding of good posture and form. It is hard to find trainers who understand good form, let alone be dedicated to ensuring you achieve it. She does this by being creative, and finding the right workout routines to build strength to achieve form in more challenging routines. Most clients like to sweat, and you most certainly will, even more so when you don't get to cheat with your form (ouch)! Training with Lea, you will achieve your goals, increase your strength, while preventing, and even eliminating, injury patterns through good form. I have a lot of respect for Lea, and over the years, she has become a friend, in addition to a fantastic coach that challenges me.

I came to Lea with a weak lower back (which I had accepted as a permanent problem), poor posture, and a lack of flexibility. I had been an active runner an cyclist throughout my thirties and forties but the arrival of our daughter in 2013 lead me to put my exercise on hold. Two years later, frequent aches and pains, and a weak lower back that regularly left left me incapacitated for a few days drove me to look for someone that could "fix" me. A friend referred me to Lea. I was skeptical at first as I had tried commercial gyms in the past and they had not worked for me. However, this was a very different experience from day 1. First of all, the location Lea uses (Norcal Functional Fitness in Campbell) is a well-run, low key gym that specializes in 1:1 workouts. You are surrounded by people in focused 1:1 workouts which provides a positive and stimulating atmosphere, very different from your typical gym. Secondly, Lea is an amazing trainer. Not only is she very experienced and knowledgeable, she is also passionate about her work. She is focused and observant and continuously fine tunes the workout to optimize the results. She is an excellent communicator and has great interpersonal skills. Most importantly, she genuinely cares about the quality of her work. Lea made me realize the invaluable benefits of a regular 1:1 workout and the importance of choosing an experienced trainer to work with. I gained significant strength, flexibility and stability since I started working out with Lea and my lower back issues disappeared entirely. I have nothing but praise for Lea and recommend her without reservation.
