I have a 1999 ItalJet Formula 50 Air that was last started in 2019. It has been sitting in my garage since then and while the engine cranked, it wouldnt turn over. I almost had to give Alex a 1 star review. Let me explain why: Through 25 different email exchanges, Alex was able to diagnose and fix my startup issues with my Honda Ruckus. What started off as preliminary questions to give her an idea of what problem I was facing, became a thread of emails littered with advice and suggestions. Although I'm sure she doesn't do this with bigger problems, it was really extraordinary to see her offer her time and experience via email. What was unsatisfying about my experience with Alex was the fact that she did not give me a way to pay her. Even though I asked twice via email, she refused to accept any form of payment from me because she didn't physically fix my scooter! This was all after she had explained her pricing policy in her first email response to me. A business unwilling to accept money for what they deem as not a service - incredible! I don't understand her positive reviews. She seems like an amazing individual but as a business person here is my review: It took me a while to get a hold of her. When I did, I paid someone $100 to take my scooter to her house in Bixby Knolls. I left her $100 deposit after she quoted me the repair costs. I told her to take her time and she had my scooter for almost a year. She NEVER communicated with me. I had to always text her first. She did not touch it and kept putting excuses for it. Her last excuse was that she injured her hand. When I finally picked up my scooter it had mold, it was dirty, rusty, full of spider webs and smelled of cat pee. She keeps scooters out in the open. She told me to be there at a certain time. I got there and she was not even home. I waited for about an hour until she got there. I am upset at her lack of professionalism and lack of communication. I went to another legit, local, storefront repair shop and told them about my negative experience. I did not mention any specific details and the person helping me said "did you take it to someone name Alex?" I was surprised. I said yes and the person said many people have taken their scooters there because Alex Scooter Repair has caused them many problems and inconveniences. Alex seems like a knowledgeable repair woman. She might have helped many people but I was not one of them. Her business is mobile and she repairs at home. I'm a little bit of a newbie with my Kymco Agility scooter and overfilled my gas tank. After doing that, my scooter stopped working. It would bog down and stall on me. I couldn't ride it anymore. Alex came out and replaced the carburetor. It ran great, however on the 4th of July, I took it for a spin, and was working perfectly until I put gas in it and it stalled again! I thought with it being a holiday, I'd have to wait until the weekend to get Alex to come out and look at it again. To my surprise, when we contacted her, despite being a holiday, she came right out to look at my bike! Let me tell you...this incredibly talented mechanic didn't stop until my bike ran perfectly! I haven't used their service except for a phone call which they responded promptly. I can as looking for a specific part and curious to see if they happened to have which they didn't as they order parts for scooters they work on and don't have a large inventory. I sent a picture of what o was looking for and within 30 minutes I got a response of them not having it. They did provide information of who might have it and I followed up with the other company who had them in stock. Got a little project mini chopper that I've been restoring/customizing but couldn't get it to fire due to my lack of wiring knowledge.
