We have been ordering from the Woodside location for many years, the last 6 months they have gone downhill. Used to be well cooked and tasty food. The last couple of orders have been incorrect , and the food was not cooked properly. The mozza sticks were over cooked and all the cheese seeped out while cooking, so many were just batter. The donairs have been getting smaller as well. The latest one had more raw onions than donair meat. The people who ran it before the present people, were always really great, however the person who seems to be running it now, does not seem to care at all. read more

I placed an order on line on a Friday night at 8:40PM. Directly after I received an email telling me my order was received and being processed. Around 10:20PM I called and asked if my order was almost ready. I figured Friday night it would have a delay. The person that answered the phone said they didn't have my order. They said the order system wasn't working well. They asked me if I wanted my order sent out and I said of course. I was asked to repeat my order so I did. No apologies. At 11PM the order still had not arrived. I called again and the owner answered. I asked if the Order was on the way. They had no record of it again. The owner was very apologetic and quick to correct things But it was after 11pm. He told me the order would be prepared and deliver right away. So it wasn't even ready. After 3 hours Food arrived at 1130. Food wasn't in a warmer so it was not hot at all... Almost cold. Garlic fingers were overcooked and also cold. The picture attached is the garlic fingers. Quite crispy... we had 2 pieces. Seriously 3 hours to deliver. The delivery driver passed me my food and asked "did you tip online?" All I can say is "LOL". read more

We have been ordering from Alexandra's since Covid started and we are always pleased. Tonight we ordered lasagna and caesar salad! Fantastic! The lasagna was nice and hot, tasty and a good serving with a full piece of garlic bread and the size of the Caesar salad was perfect. I haven't had a good tasting lasagna in forever. I have bought heat often but after my recent attempt to order. Man accused me of being " illegitimate" and demanded to have me pay via credit card over the phone. As well we only ordered here out of convenience however the food is sub par and I've definitely have had better pizza and much better service. Would definitely going else expecially with all the local gems , Annapolis pizza is a better option IMO. Pizza tasted good, but it was supposed to have broccoli and you can BARELY find any. I ordered a vegetarian sub and it was like eating tons of bread with cheese. Hardly ANY vegetables. Can't argue with a place that has about 10 selections for poutine. Even if they don't use fresh curds, the gravy is tasty and portion sizes are large. Good value. At this location they have seating to enjoy your meal inside with a large TV on the back wall if you're into that sort of thing. Staff are efficient, but not very friendly. No wi-fi. Terrible, the manager at this location is completely incompetent. We ordered food for delivery for 4 people. It was all ice cold and soggy. The fish and chips were inedible, we called and complained and they sent out more food. It was just as terrible and when we called back to complain she told us to get our food elsewhere and refused to give us a refund. Don't worry I will be getting my food elsewhere from now on. I order at least once a week, and if this is how you treat your customers you don't deserve them. 5 months later found out there's a pizza town right in same location, awesome service there. First off, I enjoy any delivery service that allows me to order online. I loathe talking on the phone (and go figure, I work in customer service) so if I can avoid it, I will. Besides, some places require you to dial a call centre in India with a tinny connection and a guy who says his name is Steve but probably has more consonnants than that in his real name (oh, Swiss Chalet...). Not Alexandras! For a pizza joint, they're ahead of the game. Log on to their website, select your order, and it'll be delivered in 30-45 minutes! Alexandra's is not my favourite (oh, Hungry Hut...), but they deliver in my area and, as I said, I can avoid awkward phone calls by ordering on my iPad. A word to the wise: I've ordered their nachos a few times, and most of the time it's been good. However, sometimes they arrive soggier than heck because they waited under heat lamps for the pizza to be made, then took 30 minutes to arrive by car. My only other gripe is that they don't serve potato skins (a travesty!). I've also tried their toasted subs and was sated. Pizza is pizza, but when you have about 10 joints to choose from in a 15-block radius, go with what's good and efficient, and Alexandra fits the bill. Love this Alexandra's location. The Yelp reviews look like they should be for the Woodside location, which is terrible. However, this location is near the Walmart in Cole Harbour. I've only had an issue once in 100 orders. This is my wife's preferred place to order pizza. I'm pretty sure it's because we love extreme garlic (keeps the darn vampires away) and these peeps are willing to load it up like mad. BTW our food has never been cold when ordering from this location. We've had many pizzas, Spaghetti (also with craploads of Vampire killing garlic), Donair, chicken strips, etc... all good, all the time. I have not been foolish enough to try the fish n chips from here (PS it's a pizza shop). Also, poutine is supposed to have cheese curds on it. Alexandra's (corporate) doesn't understand this but that's ok. Their poutine styled product is still pretty tasty. BTW, the one time I had an issue, they fixed it. They have one very ignorant staff member. We placed a delivery order which the took close to two hours to deliver. When it arrived only half the order was there, but the full bill was attached. With this we refused the order, which the delivery man understood. He was given a small tip for his time and trouble. I called the store to tell them why the order was refused. I was very abruptly told it's the supper rush you have to expect mistakes. To which I responded not when I'm paying for a order. Consistently lives up to the legacy created by the iconic Queen Street location that keeps the South End hipsters at risk of not fitting into their skinny jeans. The Dartmouth location is admittedly lower key, but seems to be hopping busy on any given night of the week. Completely terrible staff member working there. Was instantly rude over the phone and refused to check if we were in the area for delivery. If it's remotely important to you that you use your money for places that actually deserve it then I recommend just going a little bit further to another one of Alexandria's other locations. I like their pizza unfortunately their customer service is lacking. A few months ago I order d a pizza on a Tuesday night (simple order no more than two pizzas). It took 2 hours for the delivery driver to show up and the food was cold. I called the store and the manager promised me a 15% discount due to the lack of service. Today I called to order again and rather than honour their promise they told me they would not give me a discount. I will not ever order from them again. Not impressed. read more

A staff member there is beyond rude. We ordered a pizza half and half and when the order arrived it was the wrong pizza. We called to tell them and a girl answered and was rude, arguing that it was half cheese, we offered to not eat it and they could come pick it up. Love the food here but just had a horrible encounter with the manager. My girlfriend and I were hungry for dinner and thought we should order in somewhere and have a nice meal and watch a movie. We ordered this meal at about 6:00pm and the delivery guy came at about 7:30. We ordered a nacho supreme, a large Caesar salad and a donair with the works. When the delivery guy came there nachos weren't included and the donair had nothing but meat on it. At this point we were done the movie. When half of the order isn't brought to us we call the the manager and ask for some soft of compensation-- like our money back. She said that in order to get our money back we need to give the food back and the time waited. Which i think is kind of silly anyways, they're just going to throw the food out, we may as well keep the food. Her and I were on the phone were about 5 minutes to try and get her to give us our money back. At about 1 minute into the conversation she starts to raise her voice and get louder and more rude as the time went by. By the end of the phone call she was making me feel so bad about myself.
