Just had a GREAT cut from Lizzie! She has vast experience and it was apparent as she started to work with my hair. I didn't give her specifics of what I wanted, just covered some characteristics of my hair (natural side part, thinning up front, etc.) and let her take charge. Not a happy camper....6 hours, $225 and a "trim" later I was finished with hair that wasn't anywhere near the photos I showed. She had an idea to cut my hair roughly before coloring the hair and then again afterwards because it wasn't straight. So I lost about 3 inches of my long hair. I didn't go there for a haircut, I was there for highlights/lowlights. She called it a color repair...I also told her when I got there I was tender headed but that didn't matter as my head hurt by the time I left because it was brushed and combed and teased up. It was supposed to be blow dried and styled but seeing it was 3 pm I just took the rest of my hair out of her clip and said I'll let it air dry and don't worry about a style. I had been there since they opened and 9 am! I also left with color on my forehead and side of my face and on both of my ears. The receptionist was super awesome and sweet as well as a couple of the assistants. Other than that the owner never said a word, nor did anyone else. Don't plan to return. Just thought I'd give a place with good reviews a chance. read more

I had my first appointment with Mark today; let me just say he is AMAZING. So knowledgeable and enjoyable to be around. He did such an amazing job on my hair. He perfectly matched my vision and the color I wanted to achieve (blonde balayage highlight on all dark hair.) he gave me the most perfect layered look and didn't over trim. My wife was there for the first time. She got a great cut. $100 plus they charge $5.00 for using a credit card. Cheap people. They don't understand that credit cards bring the merchant more business. The fees that there bank/merchant provider charges them is the cost of doing business. She won't be back. read more

Used to come here years ago and LOVED Emily. Moved out of state and while visiting returned to the Salon and was informed Emily moved (which she had been talking about for the year and a half I had been going to her, so happy for her!) and they recommended Amber. I just moved to Little Rock a few days ago and was in desperate need to bring my dyed red hair back to life. I was nervous about anyone touching my hair seeing as I have naturally dark brown hair and have been dying it a copper red for years. It's not an easy thing to do! I looked up "best color salons in Little Rock" and this place kept popping up! I decided to go ahead and call - and let me tell you - I'm so glad I did! Jessi colored, trimmed and styled my hair. It seriously looks amazing. Think Joan Holloway from Mad Men. She should be a celebrity stylist! She suggested adding highlights to create a bit of dimension and it turned out flawless; no one has ever thought to do that to my hair before! You can tell she cares about her work a lot. I had a great service the first time. Hence booked a second appointment. For a personal reason, I could not make it to the appointment. Kept calling them, to reschedule. The number kept coming busy and I realized they had blocked my number. Called again from the landline, left a voicemail, to receive no response whatsoever! IS this how a customer is treated? I wish I could give 0 stars. I was new to this place and will never go back. I got a coupon in the mail and I just moved to little rock so I figured I would try it out. When I got there I showed the man at the counter the coupon and he said to just present it when I pay. All was well until the end when I went to pay and the lady said the coupon didn't apply to my stylist and that my stylist was a senior stylist so she costed more. No one told me that I would have to pay double the amount just because she was there longer than other stylists. So instead of paying 18 like the coupon said or even 25 like the website said I had to pay 45 because she was a senior stylist. It was absolutely ridiculous. I have never heard of a salon doing that before. I will never go back there again. The lady also just said sorry about it even thought I was clearly upset. She said sorry and took my money. Nothing more. I lived in New York City all my life and even there I never had a solan charge me more because a stylist was there longer. It's bull crap. read more

Alexander's is a friendly and upbeat salon in North Little Rock, conveniently located near I-40 on JFK. The stylists seem very professional while providing a casual and fun environment. This was the worst color experience I've ever had. I'm new to the area and I don't know anybody, so I searched and compared almost every salon in the area and decided to go with Alexander's. I thought ok, they have been voted #1 several times, I can't go wrong here. So they assigned me to Jessie. I showed her pics and told her exactly what I wanted. I wanted highlights and a trim all the same length in the back and my swooped bangs trimmed. Well she started with coloring my whole head this yellow color and then highlighted over it. And then cut about 6 inches off my hair and layered the whole thing. So 3.5 hours later my hair smells like a cigarette b/c every chance she could get she was outside smoking, and i have yellow hair. I have now scheduled a color correction w/ swank hair salon tomorrow. Hopefully they can fix this hot yellow mess I'm sporting on my head. Jessie needs to go back to hair school I do believe! read more
