I brought the dress in and just needed to get a few inches off the bottom and shorten the straps at the top. She gave me a 3 week turnaround. 3 weeks later I went to pick it up and it fit perfectly! It ended up costing $75. Not sure if that's a typical price or what, but seemed reasonable to me. If you're looking for alterations, I highly recommend Dorca's!

I support local businesses when I can, but honestly I should have tailored my suit at Nordstroms…read more When I arrived, the tailor was not there, but my suit was measured without the actual tailor taking the measurements. I'm not impressed with the fit of my jacket and the pants are a bit too short. Also, I was charged for an alteration which was not performed resulting in having to leave my pants for almost another week. Somehow I was charged even more than the original quote. Lastly, when the tailor was actually there and saw me try on my suit he offered no feedback and really seemed to not care about the fit. On a positive note, they did successfully sew a button correctly on a shirt I brought in.

HORRENDOUS! Don't bother going here. Go to Judy's Tailor Shop instead…read more They ruined my friend's pants and the owner got aggressive and started screaming in my friend's face after she was calmly describing what they did wrong to her pants. No one should be treated that way, especially a customer. We were both scared and concerned as to what he was going to do next after screaming and cursing at her. Judy's Tailor Shop does a great job, is affordable and has wonderful customer service. Her and her family would never scream in a customer's face.

She was quick with my halter top alteration, only taking a few days. Although she did complete what i asked by tightening the halter top around the neck, however, she did not advise that I may have trouble getting my head into the shirt if we move forward with the alteration. Once finished, i arrived to the store for pick up and tried on the top. That is when i realized but luckily only needed the shirt 1x so i did not make it a big deal. In my opinion, $25+ for my halter top alteration was a little much but i also can't do it myself so.... Good service, poor execution…read more I chose this shop based on its five-star reviews and brought in an off-the-rack men's jacket for fairly standard alterations: sleeves let out, buttons attached to the cuffs, and sides taken in. To their credit, the staff was friendly and professional, communication was timely, and they were willing to address mistakes when I brought them up. Customer service on the front end was solid. Unfortunately, the quality of the tailoring itself was below average. One sleeve was shortened instead of lengthened--opposite of the requested measurement (both sleeves required the same initial adjustment)--which required a return trip and extended the total turnaround time for what should have been basic alterations. On the first return, the interior vent seams were also left unfinished and, although they were completed as part of the rework, the finishing was not as clean as the original seams of the jacket. Even after these corrections, the overall workmanship did not meet expectations. The interior sleeve linings were reattached too long and baggy, bunching inside the sleeve and visibly extending below the cuff unless manually adjusted. For straightforward alterations at a highly rated shop, this was disappointing. While I appreciate the polite service and willingness to make corrections, needing multiple trips for the same jacket--and still not feeling confident in the final result--makes it difficult to recommend this shop for men's tailoring.

I've spent cash on alterations for two sport jackets and at least four pairs of pants. This was expensive for me but getting your clothes done by a professional always will be worth the money. I'm assuming that all is going well with these alterations but I won't know for two weeks. I wanted them to take their time to do it right. As soon as this is done, I will take my clothes to his recommended dry cleaners. Be aware that the hours here say they are open on Sunday. This is incorrect. The website doesn't have the latest updated schedule. Your best bet is to always call ahead of time if you are under a time crunch. In my case, I was called Friday and was told my clothes are ready. Unfortunately, I'm not anywhere near that area so I'm going to have to pick it up on Tuesday because Monday is a holiday. Planning ahead works for me, but many people wait until the last minute and alterations are one of those things you need time for. Other places may accommodate you, but I'm sure you won't get the same quality. Actually I just realized that this was sitting in my drafts waiting for me to finish my overdue evaluation. The clothes were done very well and they are still looking good. One pair of pants that are my favorite now look very well on me. I use them a lot. Can't find any faults with their alterations. I definitely will use them again even though they are pricey. You get what you pay for here no doubt about it.
