So I had to contact my doctor office again and they faxed the order again - to both numbers just to be sure - a week later, Beacon central line told me again that they never received the orders, despite me having confirmations for the dates and times the orders were faxed. So here I am, the patient, playing the middle man between the Tri-Health Blue Ash Internal Medicine and Beacon Orthopedics just trying to get help for my back pain. Taking my business somewhere else. The incontinence was gone after our 4th, and I eventually reduced in size from 2X to 14. Sleep apnea which had plagued me for years vanished, as confirmed by my doctor, and I no longer need a CPAP. A 50% compression fracture to L2 was healed (resulting in a 1.5-inch increase in height) and mobility of my right arm was 100% restored 32 years post-injury. I began my journey with Katherine because I was sick and tired of feeling so sick and tired. I could not have willed all the positive changes to my diet, my increased level of exercise, or the reduction in the size of my body. Procedure prices…read more I'm so done with UC. I was trying to schedule a procedure recently and they wouldn't tell me what my cost obligation would be. I refused to schedule the procedure until I knew what it would cost me out of pocket. The staff just kept cluelessly saying "well...it's usually covered..." Not good enough folks. After several back and forth phone calls trying to establish prices one person finally told me they wouldn't tell me the price until after I chose a date because procedures are different prices on different days. I asked if I could choose the most affordable day for me and they said no. So it wasn't "probably going to be completely covered", huh? So I have to hope I randomly choose a day I can afford? I chose to not do the procedure with them. This isn't the first time UC has been a headache about procedures. They once CANCELLED a surgery of mine at the last minute (less than 24 hours before) because some fool in the office misread paperwork and thought I was uninsured. I was insured, everything was approved, they just screwed it up because they had no idea what they're doing. People at my work rearranged vacations so I could fit in this surgery and UC got me in so much trouble. It was a diagnostic surgery that they delayed. So my diagnosis was delayed. Then they lost all of the records of the surgery. The photos, notes, and reason for my diagnosis, all "missing". They still had the bill though, so for years I had to pay for a surgery that supposedly didn't happen with supposedly no results. So, they delayed my diagnosis and severely delayed my treatment. I have over a dozen more examples. Don't bother with UC, go anywhere else.

At the time of my initial appointment I hadn't been to the dentist in about 10 years (I know, shame on me) so I was a little nervous going on. I had this fear that I'd be shamed or judged and be made to look careless about my oral hygiene. I experienced none of that. My appointment started with an initial consultation with Dr. Gay that included my background, my goals, his goals for me and a general plan of action. It proceeded on to x-rays etc with another discussion about the status of my mouth. From there Dr. Gay laid out my exact issues with both teeth and gums, and the steps we would take, while making sure to treat me without blowing through my insurance limits. He made sure to convey to me the importance of treating the issues with my oral health in a way that wasn't condescending or judgemental. He seems like he truly cares about getting his patients back to great health (he mentions often how he feels bad when people say they hate going to the dentist). The office staff from the hygienists to the reception team is fantastic. The location is prime (great views of the city). And the entire process has been painless ;) I'm glad I did a little research to find Dr. Gay and his team because it's given me a new found appreciation for the treatment of my teeth and gums and I can thank Dr. Gay for it.

I was charged $600 at the time of my initial visit and was told that a future (second) visit was included... $300 for the first and $300 for the next visit. At the time I thought that practice was odd but I didn't complain, expecting to return at a later date. After several cancellations due to personal conflicts and after researching alternative practices and processes, I decided to go in a different (and what I believe is a better direction) to address my health concerns. When I called to request a credit, I was put on hold, the call dropped, I called back and was transferred to another employee only to find out that there was a different understanding of the credit to be provided. After about an hour, I received a callback from Shane the Business Manager about my request. He indicated that I would only be receiving a $200 credit, not $300 as I expected. After much discussion, he indicated that the $200 credit was final and he would issue a check. I told him I did not agree with this decision and explained that I would be providing a review/ complaint about this business practice. I recommended that the staff should explain this business practice with patients before receiving care so this practice it is clearly understood.
