The job included staining some raw woodwork, stripping some wallpaper, and painting the walls and ceilings. Then we had them power wash and paint our aluminum siding. The most amazing thing was how well they matched the wood staining to the existing woodwork and cabinets in three different colors. Their workmanship was excellent, and the owner, Vince, kept on top of the whole process. We were very pleased.

We found Fresh Home Painting by following a chain of trust. We started with a roofer we trusted, who recommended a general contractor, who in turn called in a painter he trusted. This was no small job. We needed new windows stained (different colors in different rooms to match exiting cabinets and woodwork), wallpaper removed, walls and ceilings painted, woodwork refreshed, our roof cleaned, and the outside of the house (aluminum siding) painted. Vince Bayeh came out with the GC, and we all worked together to decide exactly what needed to be done and how. We had already told the GC that quality was more important than speed or cost, and since we'd followed a chain of trusted professionals (who were transparent about their finders and referral fees) we threw ourselves on their mercy. Vince gave us a contract, not an estimate. It was a firm price for a detailed list of work to be done. We paid part when we signed the contract, part when work started, and the rest upon completion. We don't regret that one bit. Vince himself is a perfectionist, and so is his crew (up to five people, at some points). Vince and the GC spotted things on their final walkthrough that we would not have noticed for months, if ever, and they were fixed immediately. Vince assured us that if we had questions, we should call him and he would take care of it. We did have one issue, and not only did he come out the next day, but he took care of it himself in the same visit. I can't imagine a better experience.

The stairs were especially hard hit. Dark stain on our white baseboards and stair risers. Chips that need to be filled in and repainted. Repairs that are going to take days. Could the damage have be prevented? You bet it could have. In talking to Rob just now it was as if I was talking to a completely different person than the Rob that came out and "sold" the job. Was the work to the floors wonderful? Yes. Could the damage to the woodwork have been prevented? Yes. Did Rob listen to my suggestions about how to lessen or prevent the damage in the future? No. Did Rob offer to help repair the damage? No. Am I interested in referring Rob and Company? sadly, I can't - in light of Rob's highly argumentative behavior and unwillingness to see things from his customer's (me) perspective, I cannot give a thumbs up. Sorry, Rob, You can and must do better.
