They give their business clients 10 days notice before removing fencing from a fire. Not only that, they drive all the way from wherever to push papers in front of your face the day of a fire. Or just show up to your personal house to bother you. Unprofessional. Crooked. User beware. Stupid pricing on simple fencing and boarding too. Just awful. I woke up in early November 2023 from a call regarding a fire in one of my apartments in Bakersfield,CA. That morning, I also received a call from Alert regarding the fire. I made one call to my realtor in Bakersfield to check on the Alert Company. Living in another state, I never viewed the damaged property from start to finish. I'm totally impressed with the company. I need to commend two individuals that were always there for me. Kolin schinnell is absolutely without question the best person to be Project Manager for the reconstruction. We communicated regularly during the 9 month project. He was my eyes fir all the flooring, counter tops, appliances, paint, to rebuild the unit and the adjoining damaged apartments. Look, we had a bad water leak in our house and the insurance company was the party that contacted Alert Disaster Restoration to do the work. I had no clue who they were, but was just shocked by the professionalism, the quality of the work and the entire process. Left to my own devices, I would have hired another contractor and missed out on this. The trades people they brought in made the kitchen look better than it did before, and we had remodeled the entire space in recent years so that's saying a lot. Kolin was our lead man on the process, and this young guy is kind, professional, organized, personable and quite knowledgeable about what needs to be done and when. Just texting him if we needed something was all that had to happen when we needed anything, so I recommend requesting him if you use this firm. Any delays in the process should be laid at the feet of the insurance company and its rotating crew of desk adjusters, but Kolin handled a lot of that and made the process easier. read more

Due to a water leak in my bathroom I had mold in my wall and vanity. My appointment for the clean up was scheduled for a Friday morning and was to be completed that day. Due to another job (emergency) only half of the day was used to do my job so it was not completed as promised. The next business day was Monday and the start time was delayed, however the work was completed. I was very satisfied with Martin who did the clean up. Our first point of contact was Troy who did a great job of analyzing and walking us through the steps and timeline. After floors and walls were removed and fans had dried the cement, we met Kolin who helped us get everything put back together. Amazing company. My grandmother who is 94 years old had a water leak at her house. We called Alert and they were right on top of it. Helped to get my grandma out and into a hotel room while they got all of her belongings out of the house and worked with the insurance company to get everything completely repaired. We had some minor water damage in our bathroom from a while back, so we went on yelp to find someone to come look at it and sent out a few messages to companies. We heard back from Alert Disaster Restoration first, and they were able to come see the damage within 2 days. They took a look and suggested we call a handyman, since the damage wasn't too extensive and there was no obvious mold. They were honest and didn't try to upsell me. They didn't even charge me for their assessment! They also gave me some recommended contacts of handymen they used for minor fixes. This will save us hundreds or maybe a few thousand dollars. I highly recommend them and believe they will give you an honest assessment of your water damage issue. If we do end up finding mold in the walls, we will definitely be contacting them to help us fix. read more

Terrible service! A three week promise of completion turned into over three months. I moved out of my house on September 4th. and back into my house December 14th. The pods were left at the curb two weeks after they were emptied, the lockbox is still on my front door December 27th after texting, calling and begging for two weeks to have it removed. This business is making a killing off of homeowners insurance- no surprise. They charged the insurance company over $8,000. To move part of my furniture into two pods sitting at my curb, using low wage Latino workers. My advice, hire a trusted contractor to take care of your project. read more

When my house flooded on Valentine's Day I had no idea who to call, so I called the name at the top of the list and got lucky! The crew from Alert were quick to respond, and the end results were excellent. My only criticism is that they were not always on point when giving me estimated dates and times, and they tended to assume (I guess) that I was familiar with their procedures.. Special shout out to Carlos and Robert, two of the nicest guys and hardest working craftsman I have ever encountered.
