I had a leak in my bathroom. After filing a claim with my insurance for the water damage, my insurance contacted Alert. One of their employees came and did an assessment. He was there for about 10 minutes and then left. Barely said a word. It took a while to get the estimate. Once my insurance received it, it was approved. After the approval, Alert came back and said the damage was more than what they first thought and so they needed to do another estimate. They never came to my house again. It took over 2 weeks to get any response. After that, they told my adjuster they were not "willing to do the work." My family has been displaced because of the damage to our bathroom. To me, it's very unprofessional to not contact anyone for weeks and then say they are not willing to do the repairs. read more

What can I say? Our insurance company contacted Alert to repair our bathroom, laundry room, and a short hallway after a shower pan failed. A guy showed up, spent maybe five minutes at the house, said fewer than ten words, and left. Apparently, that was the entire inspection process. Then it took several days of both my wife and me repeatedly calling--along with, we assume, the insurance adjuster--just to get Alert to send the estimate to the insurance company. Once the estimate finally arrived, insurance reviewed and approved it within 48 hours. Great, right? Surely we'd be hearing from a project manager soon. Nope. Instead, we were told, "They found more damage and need to prepare a new estimate." Um... okay. Except nobody ever came back out to inspect anything else. Apparently, someone watched the original video a little more closely and decided, 'Wait a minute, this job was approved way too easily. Surely we can squeeze a little more out of it.' Fast-forward two more weeks of everyone asking where this mysterious new estimate was, and suddenly Alert decided: 'You know what?', "We are unwilling to do the work." Unwilling? Really? Honestly, I wish I had read the reviews before getting this far. At this point, I can only say I think we dodged a massive bullet--or, more accurately, a gigantic cluster of one. If this is how the process goes before the work even starts, I can only imagine the headache it would have been afterward. One star? Nope. That would be generous. Zero stars if I could. read more

They give their business clients 10 days notice before removing fencing from a fire. Not only that, they drive all the way from wherever to push papers in front of your face the day of a fire. Or just show up to your personal house to bother you. Unprofessional. Crooked. User beware. Stupid pricing on simple fencing and boarding too. Just awful. Look, we had a bad water leak in our house and the insurance company was the party that contacted Alert Disaster Restoration to do the work. I had no clue who they were, but was just shocked by the professionalism, the quality of the work and the entire process. Left to my own devices, I would have hired another contractor and missed out on this. The trades people they brought in made the kitchen look better than it did before, and we had remodeled the entire space in recent years so that's saying a lot. Kolin was our lead man on the process, and this young guy is kind, professional, organized, personable and quite knowledgeable about what needs to be done and when. Just texting him if we needed something was all that had to happen when we needed anything, so I recommend requesting him if you use this firm. Any delays in the process should be laid at the feet of the insurance company and its rotating crew of desk adjusters, but Kolin handled a lot of that and made the process easier. read more

Due to a water leak in my bathroom I had mold in my wall and vanity. My appointment for the clean up was scheduled for a Friday morning and was to be completed that day. Due to another job (emergency) only half of the day was used to do my job so it was not completed as promised. We had some minor water damage in our bathroom from a while back, so we went on yelp to find someone to come look at it and sent out a few messages to companies. We heard back from Alert Disaster Restoration first, and they were able to come see the damage within 2 days. They took a look and suggested we call a handyman, since the damage wasn't too extensive and there was no obvious mold. They were honest and didn't try to upsell me. They didn't even charge me for their assessment! They also gave me some recommended contacts of handymen they used for minor fixes. This will save us hundreds or maybe a few thousand dollars. I highly recommend them and believe they will give you an honest assessment of your water damage issue. If we do end up finding mold in the walls, we will definitely be contacting them to help us fix. read more
