I had a leak in my bathroom. After filing a claim with my insurance for the water damage, my…read moreinsurance contacted Alert. One of their employees came and did an assessment. He was there for about 10 minutes and then left. Barely said a word. It took a while to get the estimate. Once my insurance received it, it was approved. After the approval, Alert came back and said the damage was more than what they first thought and so they needed to do another estimate. They never came to my house again. It took over 2 weeks to get any response. After that, they told my adjuster they were not "willing to do the work." My family has been displaced because of the damage to our bathroom. To me, it's very unprofessional to not contact anyone for weeks and then say they are not willing to do the repairs.

WARNING: DO NOT TRUST 911 RESTORATION OF BAKERSFIELD…read more Read this before hiring them. I am writing this review to warn others about my extremely troubling experience with 911 Restoration of Bakersfield. If you're considering using them--especially through your insurance--please think twice. I hired them (through a referral from Farmers Insurance) after a water-related incident at my home in December 2024. What followed was a complete nightmare of negligence, poor communication, property damage, and what I believe to be highly unethical behavior. Negligent Work Caused More Damage: Their team failed to properly cap a hot water line under my dishwasher during remediation, which led to additional, serious water damage throughout my kitchen. Rather than own up to their mistake, the company--through a rep named Denia--denied responsibility and tried to shift blame to another contractor. Encouraged Me to Mislead My Insurance Company: Denia directly instructed me to have a plumber falsify a service date and label the work as "leak detection" so I could open a second insurance claim. She also claimed to have spoken with Farmers Insurance and said the second claim would be approved. I refused to follow through with this dishonest plan, but I did file the second claim based on her suggestion--which caused even more confusion and stress. Mishandled My Property: They damaged a $400 baby stroller during storage and failed to return a small but valuable cabinet item ($50). Denia never gave me a full inventory of my packed belongings and avoided accountability for the missing and damaged items. No Accountability, No Resolution: To this day, they have not taken any steps to fix the damage they caused, reimburse the lost or broken items, or even provide an honest explanation. Their rep continually dodged responsibility and refused to communicate transparently. My Advice: RUN. Between their shoddy work, misleading guidance, and unprofessional behavior, this company has caused me more stress and financial loss than the original water leak ever did. Save yourself the time, money, and heartbreak. Avoid 911 Restoration of Bakersfield at all costs.

Our project was delayed more times than I can count, their pricing is wildly inconsistent with the area, their approach is manipulative, and the number of mistakes they made would almost be impressive if it wasn't so frustrating. If you're a fan of inflated costs, constant blame-shifting, and a team that treats customer service as optional, this is the company for you. Otherwise, save yourself the stress and steer clear.

I wasn't home during the initial visit, but someone was at my house to let the technician in. The technician spoke with me over the phone and told me the unit was old and needed to be replaced. He also offered to come back on my day off, and we scheduled another visit. The next day, I discovered that the main access panel on the HVAC unit had been left open after the first visit. That was very concerning. It made me wonder how something that important could have been overlooked. I decided to get a second opinion from another HVAC company. They immediately noticed the open panel, closed and secured it properly, and fixed the issue without recommending that I replace the entire HVAC system. Based on my experience, I recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to replace your HVAC system. I was disappointed that such a basic issue was missed, and I'm glad I sought another opinion before making an expensive decision.

My mother of 86 years old, called Roto-Rooter of Bakersfield because of an alert from the water…read morecompany, due to high usage. Two technicians responded and within 45 minutes of the visit, a half inch valve for a garden hose was replaced, which resolved the leak. She was charged $700 and offered a $75 rebate for the service call. Upon discovery of the outrageous cost of such a simple discovery and repair of the leaky valve, I contacted Roto-Rooter, and was told that my concern would be discussed with a representative who would be more qualified to address my concern. That never happened. I'm going to follow up further with intent, on principal alone, to see to it that this sort of business model become exposed for what it is. Our elderly, need to be served with integrity and dignity, especially when the service technician is not under the scrutiny of a mindful witness. This business practice is shameful. Simply put, Daniel Gonzales is an enormous asset to Roto-Rooter and a consummate professional in…read morehis work. He is friendly and direct, and he approached our problem thoughtfully and carefully, with transparent advice and pricing as he quoted our options (and the eventual upgrade we chose based on a well-informed decision). Daniel arrived at our house to clear a grease-clogged drain. We've had a regular plumber augur the drain before, but the clearance didn't last, so this time we called on Roto-Rooter. We explained the history and what we'd already tried, and we asked questions when Daniel told us about probable issues below and our most-likely solutions for a long-term fix. While he saved us hundreds of dollars after testing our disposal and explaining why it was probably not due for replacement yet, he also carefully described the difference between auguring (pushing out a solid clog, or sometimes dragging it back up out of the drain line) and Hydro-Jetting (blasting out grease that has glued itself to the walls of the drain pipe over time). In the end, we chose the Hydro-Jet and its associated warranty period; while much more expensive than a simple augur service, the difference after cleaning is profound! Daniel's lengthy, careful process pushed an enormous pile of grease chunks out of the drain (he said the white pieces we saw so much of were likely many years old, even from the previous owners of this house), which we carefully swept into a bag for proper disposal (see attached photos from before we swept them up). Once he made it all the way down the line, and the water finally started to flow out the usual channels again, he also ran a camera through the drain to ensure that he'd gotten everything. We could see such an improvement, and it's been performing smoothly ever since. Only four stars for the company's hefty pricing, but a full five stars for Daniel's extraordinary service!
