As a longtime client of Alejandro's Hair Salon, I had already been privy to what his clients know to be his secret: delivering the ultimate customer experience. This "customer experience" concept has become a buzzword for marketers as of late, but at Alejandro's, it has been at the core of its operation since opening its doors many years ago. When you think of a customer's experience during a haircut, most would agree that you would conjure a picture that most likely resembles sitting in a work station, facing a mirror, with a stylist cutting/blowing/drying under bright lights, upbeat music playing in the background. Most would agree their experience is similar. This is where the similarities between others and Alejandro's begins. Upon walking into the salon, you already know you are about to experience something very unique. I'm not just talking about the moderns and simplistic approach, or the cappuccino bar perched at the back with bustling customers. I'm talking about very specific and unique things that are symbolic to what the hair salon actually stands for, and the storytelling behind those things. I visited the salon yesterday. I had been wanting to try Ale Jr, the salon headed by Alejandro's son adjacent to his own (more on this later), but ventured over to say hello. One of the first things that caught my eye were these exquisite plant arrangements lining the walls...something I had never seen before. I walked over to closely inspect them and was approached by the owner himself, Alejandro, who very passionately explained he had made them himself out of coconut strands form his backyard. "It's not about changing your perception, but your attitude," he stated as he explained how the arrangements were made of actual living things, specially ordered soil and hand woven coconut. "We believe in changing your lifestyle to instill healthy longevity similar to that of the Hunza tribe. " With that, he was off, but it left me thinking that it was probably the most profound 2 minutes I'd had when checking into a hair salon. Within 10 minutes, I found out about the latest and greatest going on in this mesmerizing space; I can't quite call it a "salon" because it simply doesn't convey what it is anymore. Picture this: outside manicures and pedicures overlooking a tranquil lake, while mimosas and brunch are being served... a coffee machine that I believe offers over a dozen or two types of coffees, their frothy appearance resembling that of a seasoned barista...natural light pouring through the ceiling-to-floor windows that removes the typical salon feeling of being under fluorescent lighting...and an exclusive spa section that only caters to the most discerning of clients, offering cutting-edge technology that not many can boast to have in-house. When I say this, it is not because I read it in a flyer -no, I actually booked a session then and there after meeting the spa director, Ana Sofia, whose long list of credentials impressed me to the point of wanting to give this a try. The facial lasted a whopping hour and thirty minutes, and it was breath-taking. I would be lying if I told you I knew everything she did, because it was A LOT - but here's what I do know. The facial (using the most AMAZING skin cream line I've had applied) was done in conjunction with a microdermabrasion and oxygen treatment, the latter infused into the skin, and provided with a mask to circulate the lungs and create an overall feeling of being brought back to life. A targeted "spray" of multi-vitamin cream was then applied to seal the pores, and during the breaks, a scalp, shoulder, arms, hand, caf and foot reflexology massage was performed. I walked out of that place feeling like a totally new person, but more importantly, my skin was glowing. Being in the relaxed state that I was, I decided to just observe my surroundings and take it all in. Every single customer was beaming. The staff was impeccably dressed in black, elegantly fitted clothing that was tasteful, not drawing attention away from the true beauty of the place, and catering to their clients' every need. The extravagant plants lining the "stations" proudly reached towards the pouring in of sunlight, and the hum of the dryers could only be perceived as white noise in the middle of a bustling and busy salon. This, ladies and gentlemen, is truly living for the customer experience. It's not really about the fact that Alejandro has led courses in Paris, Venezuela and the US around the mastery of hair-cuttery, or that he is an award-winning stylist who has been featured across every important news/media outlet. It's not even about how his wife Maria is a master hair colorist that has been referenced as the "go-to" person for coloring in our area. That is merely skill that sets them apart. Had a wedding to attend and made an appointment to have my hair styled at 1:00pm on Saturday by Alejandro. When I arrived on time he started cutting a customer's hair. Another lady washed and blew dry my hair straight while he was busy and told me Alejandro would finish it up. At 2:10 she was finished and he started cutting a lady's hair. I had to complain and get angry for him to work on my hair. Been a customer for more than 10 years and am so disappointed in how I was treated. Looking for another salon. Alejandros Salon is the absolute best! I have been coming here for the past 8 years now and I don't plan on going anywhere else! I get my haircut with Alejandro Sr, my color with María Isabel, and my facials now with Ana Sofia (BTW the spa experience is like no other... best facials I've had in my life!) This place has such an incredible team! They always make me feel at home and welcome. The haircuts: Alejandro is amazing! You don't get a regular haircut when you come here... you get an "Alejandro haircut" he takes into account the shape of your face, the movement of your hair, basically EVERYTHING and somehow works his magic to give you an amazing look that is true, unique, and personal to YOU and just YOU! Great place! I stumbled on to Alejandro's salon after some great Yelp reviews. I just moved to Weston and was looking for a bit more upscale salon that I could patronize monthly. I made an appointment the day of my cut and as soon as I walked in, I was greeted and taken care of. I ended up being cut by the owner, Alejandro, unbeknownst to me! His consultation was great - he catered to what I was looking for, while offering his professional opinion. I am a 35-year old guy who is (sadly) slowly losing his hair; Alejandro was able to cut what I was looking for, while being able to take my thinning hair into consideration. The cut was great and I am already booking my next appointment! The place was clean and busy, and everything I'm looking for in a more upscale salon. An nice salon tucked inside a strip mall in Weston. They have a lot of staff that all works together to make you look fabulous. I'm a salon and spa junkie; I try to go as often as my budget would permit. I had a wonderful experience at this salon initially and I would have easily given it a 5 stars but this salon needs improvement in their customer service and appointment time. Alejandro is super talented. Watching him work with his scissors and your hair is phenomenal. I also got my hair colored and Alejandro (Jr) was extremely attentive to your needs. However I no longer visit this salon because of their poor customer service and inability to keep appointment times. Often times I wait an hour to hour and a half even when I have an appointment. You pissed me off and I haven't even walked through your door, nor will I ever, nor will anyone that I know. Long story short, I decided to veer from my typical salon, Ton Vangard (highly highly recommend FYI), because I'm growing out my hair and only need/want the smallest trim possible, and didn't want to reach deep into my pockets for it. Cue Groupon. I went in search for a good deal where I could basically find someone with good enough motor skills to cut off one inch in a straight line, for under triple digits. Shouldn't be too hard I thought. After searching through pages of "salonz," unisex hair cutteries and places located in some grandmas apartment in Hialeah, I found the coup for Alejandro's Salon and it seemed like a legitimate establishment. I read up, and despite a handful of less than stellar reviews, I decided to go for it. Well, I guess what they say is true, you get what you pay for. After purchasing the Groupon, I called up to make an appointment and the woman who answered the phone offered me a Tuesday or Wednesday appointment. Being a working individual, I asked for a Saturday appointment, to which she told me that since I had a Groupon, they would not take me over the weekend and my only option was Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 -6... which happens to be the exact hours that I'm at my office, so clearly those times were not going to work. The woman on the phone said to me that on the Groupon, it says this in the restrictions. WRONG. I have been burned by Groupons in the past and now make sure to clearly read any fine print before purchasing. There was NOTHING about appointment times being limited to Tuesday and Wednesday. Here is exactly what my voucher says, a verbatim copy and paste: "Fine Print Not valid with master stylists. Additional fees may apply depending on hair length, texture, and density. Appointment required 24hr in advance. Merchant's standard cancellation policy applies (any fees not to exceed Groupon price). Limit 1 per person. Valid only for option purchased. All goods or services must be used by the same person. Important Patient Disclosure. New clients only." So now I have to go through the hassle of getting a refund for this Groupon, but I also get the pleasure of spreading word around about the poor business practices exemplified by Alejandro's Salon. read more

I have been searching high and low for a good salon, and my friend recommended me this spot. I made an appointment for today at 3:30 pm. I arrive 5 minutes earlier than my scheduled appointment and the receptionist told me that Alejandro Sr. is running late. I asked her how late, as I did not mind waiting for an additional 15-20 minutes. She then proceeds to tell me that there were 3 people in front of me waiting for Alejandro Sr. Three people. I was pretty furious at this because I drove all the way from Miami to get my hair cut and styled. I asked her why didn't she call me to let me know he was running that late or to give me a heads up. It is a cronic issue in St Florida. Customer service is extremly poor. Alejandro's is not exception. Unfortunately, although the charge a lot of money, they fail to offer a good hair cut experience, at least for men. Last time, they tried to improvise a place for my hair cut and I could not stand it. Unacceptable. The owner or son of the owner gave me an excuse and failed to apologize for the inconvenience or offer a creative, acceptable solution. First let me start by saying that I know Alejandro and Maria Isabel from Venezuela. They have been doing my hair for over 15 years now and every time I move to a different state I panic because I absolutely LOVE them. Alejandro is amazing styling and Maria Isabel is a genius colorist, together they are the most amazing combo. I've had my hair short, long, red, blonde, black... I am a brunette and not once have I not gotten compliments. The down fall... Will you have to wait even if you have an appointment? Yes! It's a cultural thing and in my opinion ITS WELL WORTH IT! I read reviews about them not being very social? well, if you speak Spanish the experience might be different not because of them just getting along with Hispanic people but more because of a language barrier. This is an update to my first review of Alejandro's Salon in Weston. Does anyone else have hair with a mind of it's own? No matter how much you try, it still does what it wants and not what you want? Well, if you fall into this category, go see Alejandro Jr. at Alejandro's Salon in Weston. He can work magic!! I'm two for two now. When I walked into the salon I was greeted with a huge smile and a hug from Luz at the front desk who came out from behind to give me a warm hug and take me to my chair. Now, it's important to note that I have only been to this salon twice before and really only officially met her once before and this is the warmth of the greeting I got when I arrived. Made me feel like family. Alejandro Jr. did an amazing job with my color tonight. Styled my bangs (which btw, never behave) and showed me how to dry them so they look REALLY good. He now has this scare-d-cat excited about a cut and new 'do' the next time I go in and I can't wait!! I had the most professional, complete and amazing facial I have ever had while living in the United States (15 years). Ana Sofia, the esthetician, was trained in Venezuela by the best instructors and school. She uses Spanish and French techniques together with excellent quality products. Ana Sofia will recommend which facial is best for your skin type. I had the "oxygen treatment" which left my skin looking radiant and youthful. My facial included a cleaning, hydrating creams and mask. While having the steam onto my face and waiting for the mask to completely be absorbed into my skin, Ana Sofia did not leave the room. In fact, she gave me a foot massage as well as a neck and hand massage. Overall, my experience at the spa was excellent and very relaxing. I highly recommend it. read more

I have not found the level of excelent service and quality of work at a reasonable price, so I come to see Alejandro in Weston whenever I'm in Miami. Once you find a hairtylist that not only takes care of your hair, and overall aesthetics in such a professional manner, but also offers you an incredible service that makes your time there so pleasant. I just moved to Weston and thought I would give Alejandro's a try. I had an appointment with Maria Isabel for my color. When I arrived she was getting her hair done and seemed irritated that I had arrived on time. She never introduced herself, asked my name, nothing. She asked what I wanted done, I told her just my roots touched up (colored). She brought out a book with hair swatches to match my color. I had never had this done before. She applied the color and went back to have her hair styled. She had another girl come and check my hair color and finish. Maria Isabel never returned. The end result, she dyed ALL of my hair the exact color of my roots, not what I had asked for. I was extremely disappointed. I then was escorted to have my hair cut by Alejandro. He didn't introduce himself, nor ask my name either. He cut my hair really quickly, he did do a nice job. I was disappointed in this salon. However, last time I went, I waited an hour and 15 minutes for Alejandro, before being informed that he would be ANOTHER 45 minutes. and that's WITH an appointment! I was left sitting on the couch, ignored (no water, no apologies) until I complained repeatedly. I then requested to have another hairdresser do my hair, because I'm not waiting 2 hours on Saturday for a haircut. The girl who did my hair did a good job, and gave me a complimentary treatment (which I had requested, considering the long wait). She was kind and sweet and gave a good service. All in all, the quality of the cuts are good, but I was sorely disappointed by the long, long wait for Alejandro and the service until I complained. I went to Alejandro's the first time about 6 months ago. I had an appointment for highlights, haircut and eyebrows. He came highly recommended. First of all the lady Maria Isabel with whom I had an 11am appointment with decided to start working on my hair at 12:15 (very rude) not an apology or anything. I was surprsie considering she is married to the owner Alejandro. She did my highlights after sitting there for god knows how long, when I went to look at the highlights you couldnt even notice them. Obvisouly, I was upset and told her in a very nice and pleasant way that you couldnt even tell I had highlights. She said well I will put a toner, the bottom line is they kept sending me off to diffrent people in the salon. She is so unprofessional and never smiles it's amazing to me how you can be in that kind of buisness and treat customers so poorly. The bottom line is when I finally got to Alejandro he did cut my hair very nicely. I was very happy with the cut but not happy at all with the color or the service. They had the nerve to charge me over $200.00. I honestly dont mind paying, but the job has to be done right. Another thing that they do is they take way more appointments than they can handle. I was angry when I left but loved the haircut so much that I said I will give them a second chance. I went a few months ago had the appointment again with Maria Isabel "Chance # 2" not only was she not there when I arrived she showed up one hour late! I was furious! I should had left but didnt. Alejandro Jr. nice kid but does not seem to have much experience in color, started my highlights and to be honest he lacks experience. He tried and for this I am grateful. He atleast smiles and trys to be professional. When Maria Isabel finally showed up " I said to him I do not want her touching my hair. It was the lack of consideration and not even been apologetic for her tardiness again! I waited a long period of time again for Alejandro Sr. to cut my hair. I was very happy with the cut, but not with the service. I was there about 6 hours on my second visit. The first time it was like 8hrs. So today I decided to go again but this time I said I will only cut my hair with Alejandro Sr. no washing, no highlights, nothing but the cut. I made a 12 o clock appointment. Of course at 12 o clock he is cutting another clients hair and does not even acknowledge that I am sitting there with wet hair right next to him. Not a hello or anything but pure rudeness. I was so fed up and this point, I just got up and walked out of the salon with wet hair. I will never go back again. Just basing this review on the wait time and service. I bought a Groupon and maybe this is why they are treating me poorly. So definitely don't buy the Groupon. Basically my appointment here was at 9 AM (I have been waiting since 8:45 since they open at 9 and II could get in right away!) it's now 9:35 and the stylist I am supposed to have is not even here! This is only the nail in the coffin, I actually came here 2 days ago and rescheduled because the SAME thing happened where I had a 9:30 appointment and was waiting till 10 And I had somewhere to be at Noon and the stylist took someone before me because "their system was down" so they didn't realize I was coming! I gave them the benefit of the doubt and a second chance by making today's appointment. I have two young children at home and hired a babysitter so that I could get a haircut which is even more upsetting. Which reminds me I'll have to tell everyone in my mommy group to never go here as well. Not sure if this is because I bought a groupon or what, but I will certainly be writing to Groupon to complain and get my money back! Ridiculous! Ok. 9:40 I go to the desk a second time to ask if stylist here. NOW the receptionist tells me they mistakenly put my appt for 10 AM. Why didn't they tell me that when I checked in at 9?!?! Ugh. Edited: so I wrote the same review on Facebook and the owner, Alejandro Jr. reached out to me.to apologize. He also offered to give me a haircut himself. It's a little too late, but I do appreciate his outreach (even though I'm not going to take him up on the offer) and so I changed the stars to 3/5 because of that as well as the fact that the ladies who walked out of the salon did have nice hair...:-/. I used to get my haircut at hair cuttery because I didn't believe in high end salons. My hair was awful and really annoying to deal with. Then finally someone recommend Alejandro's and I decided to give it a chance. I have now been coming back to him for 8 years. He is the only person that I ever let touch my hair. I told him "I want my hair to be easy like I just get out of the shower and I'm done". He did just that!!! I don't know how but my hair is stunning! Always get compliments and I have sent so many people his way! Go once and you will be his client forever. The customer service is incredible and they treat you like family. They always remember your name no matter how long you go without a haircut. I usually go once a year or twice a year and it's enough. I love it! Would give more stars if I could! read more

So here's the deal - my BFF bought a Groupon that she was super excited about (color, cut, blow out). She made the appointment last week, then called this AM to confirm her 4:30 appointment. They insisted it was at 4:00, so she left her work even earlier than planned and went to the salon. After waiting in front of the desk for someone-anyone!-to notice her (and there were employees speaking Spanish to each other while they were gesturing to her), someone came to ask her if she had an appointment. She said 4:00; they said 4:30, she said she'd called... ANYWAY...another lady came and told her they had made a mistake (they seemed to be unhappy when she mentioned her Groupon), and that it would be at least an hour and a half before anyone could get to her...and maybe she'd like to go get coffee and come back. Needless to say, my pal did not go drink coffee for the next 90 minutes or so. At no time did anyone attempt to make it right, offer her anything, or even attempt to make it right. I used to hate going to the hair salon until now. For those who are wondering if you should trust your hair with Alejandro, please read more. I was recommended to Alejandro by my childhood friend. She had been going to Alejandro for her hair for more thab 10 years. I was in desperate need of a new hair stylist because of a bad experience, which made me think I'd never trust another hair stylist ever again. The minute I walked in, I felt reassured by the staff. They were all friendly and very human. I felt like if I knew them for years. They do a great job at welcoming you and getting you comfortable. Long story short, Alejandro re-did my entire look. My hair had suffered serious damage due to a bad color, and he suggested a brand new look. The shortest I've ever had my hair at. He looked me straight in the eye and told me: "I can sell very expensive and good products to you, but nothing will repair your hair and bring it back to live as a new fresh cut will." I knew his years of experience and professionalism were not bluffing. I'm so glad I trusted him. I believe that when you find good hands, your hair grows and shines. It's what I've felt ever since. I highly recommend Alejandro. My son Daniel also loved his haircut. We hope to go back really soon. read more

I moved to Weston and recently missed 2 Hair Cutters in these ... ended my haircut.Researched even a salon and that's when I saw that this had many compliments, I decided to risk it and loved it!!
