The following might help people. There's a fundamental problem with the relationship between ALE Solutions, your Insurance Company, and the reality of your insurance policy. If your homeowners policy covers loss of use to your home, you probably have a time frame and dollar threshold based on the rebuild cost of your home. "Unlimited" is usually based on cost of rebuilding the home. And there is probably a "reasonable accommodation" aspect mentioned in your temporary housing options. Reasonable is open ended, but at the very least based on how many adults and children lived in the home, and given local ordinances on how many people can occupy a rental home or apartment etc, reasonable generally means you need x amount of bedrooms and something on par with your home. (also including kitchen, bathroom, pets) Your insurance company contracts out finding temporary housing to ALE, who is always going to be limited to what is actually available. DO NOT ALLOW ALE or your Insurance company to put you in a hotel, extended stay, or rental home if it DOES NOT MEET THEIR OBLIGATIONS TO FIND YOU SOMETHING EQUAL or reasonable to your home. And yes, the Insurance company might use unethical means to deceive you of what your entitled to. ALE has an up and down reputation, but it has a lot to do with your Insurance Company not meeting their responsibility of finding a reasonable accommodation. If the only thing available is 3 hotel rooms at the local Marriott. And ALE can't find you a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom house with a fenced backyard for your two dogs. YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT to tell the Insurance company the 600 foot 2 bedroom home offered by ALE SOLUTIONS isn't good enough. You have every right to refuse those offers if they don't meet the contractual obligation in your insurance policy. Stay in that Hotel. Yes, the Insurance Company is going to spend 15,000 dollars a month and wants you out of the Hotel. It is not the customers fault that the insurance company did not realistically handle the housing shortage issues in a market. Nor is it the customers fault that they hired ALE Solutions who doesn't offer a sensible market rate to the Insurance Company on hotels stays, and extended stays. You probably can find a cheaper extended stay rate then ALE Solutions did. In all reality, ALE doesn't have people negotiating rates with hotels, or rental properties at reduced rates. You might think they did. But they don't. You will eventually have an Insurance Adjuster (possibly lying to you) trying to tell you, that you must move out of the hotel because (it's expensive for the Insurance Company). But again, it's not your problem that your Insurance Company is lazy and doesn't have good business practices. ALE is only going to offer what is available. And the entire country has a housing crisis. Good luck finding a month to month temp rental. Don't do it, tell them to honor the contract and F off. read more

These people have no empathy for the people they are supposed to be helping. The worst communicators and dont follow up on anything and are not easy to get in contact with. They sent me down the wrong housing department for several weeks while i was stuck in a hotel. Then when they did get me to the right department the people cancelled my hotel before i got into my long term housing without any check in or communication about the new property starting or the hotel ending. Also had me pay a deposit for the wrong departments housing and i have been inquiring weekly for a month now about getting it refunded and never get any return calls or emails. Still trying to track down the refund for something i never used. Rude, worthless people. I cant wait to see what other issues pop up during my stay with the company until my home is rebuilt. Each time I call customer service, I receive a different answer on what is happening. They each seem very nice but also confused about what the previous agent in any given previous call told me. Our insurance company worked with ALE Solutions to get us into temporary housing to fix ours. There communication stinks. We were given a guy Abel to contact if any issues however with all the craziness we delt with we only spoke w/ him once..... 1st our check in time was 4pm we did not receive nor able to contact anyone with instructions to get in and waited online just to speak w someone for over 30mins. Once we got the code to enter house -The host listed the house under a different address for safety reasons and we spent 45 minutes looking for this house # that never existed & No one notified us....we had to figure it out on our own because the hosts phone number we were also given was incorrect and said this is a screen call and wouldn't even let us leave a voicemail.... We then were not even able to get in contact with the correct hosts phone number until day 4 of our stay. ALE is a middle man and they communicate emails between host and renter Evidently the host was emailing us and ALE solutions was not replying nor forwarding it to us until I called to complain and ask what's going on then she forwarded us five emails! If you text them, they do respond accordingly however, when they say we will have someone reach out to you as soon as possible that could be two days later .... That's happened twice. We had to extend our stay, but because the host upped the price astronomically we had to move to a different VBRO. They said they would have a new one available to us however they tell you that, but don't tell you it's a 24 hour policy... any pet deposit collected they will not refund and not help you refund so I encourage you to not select a Vrbo w pet fee. The new one we're in now does not have a pet fee and they're very welcoming to pets. It's great they do exist. We have well behaved dogs. Unless you ask for check in check out information, they will not send it. They just assume you have it but make sure you give him plenty of time because they go home early and then you have to wait till the morning, because only certain people can get you that information you need and those are usually the ones that go home when you need them. I would absolutely never recommend this company to anyone. They are a middle person to big companies that is definitely not needed.... They are not successful at what they do. read more

I am in my 50s so I have had decades of doing business with 1000s of companies. ALE is in the top 3 worst companies I have ever dealt with in my entire life. Each person would give me completely different information from the last person. There were errors after errors. They would lie to me in writing. They called me an @$$h0le in writing. They took over 2 months to find me a home to move into. My son who is a realtor ended up having to find a place for us. Yet, they took part of the fee from my insurance agency for finding the place. They messed up my lease and lied about my move out date. They cost me over $700 in fees. They demanded that I wire a $4500 security deposit to them within a few hours and then took over 2 months to MAIL me a partial refund. They are rude, greedy, lying and non-professionals. After a fire at our home, they did very little to rehome my family of 5 and 3 dogs, I ended up staying up all night for a week reaching out to different rental homes, ultimately finding us a place at the expense of losing two of my high-paying clients. We also had rental furniture through them and after 3 months of the furniture being picked up, they told us that we have an outstanding bill for the items we still have, 2 of which were returned and the other 2 we bought. If you are like us, you have never been through something like this and we just went with them...but if you can AVOID ALE solutions at all costs. From temporary hotel accommodations division customer service representatives and their management to temporary housing division customer service representatives and their management it has been a consistent hassle. They are not worth a cent if what they are paid Demetri Brooches one of the Hotel division supervisors of ALE Solutions has been one of the leaders worst leaders that I had to work with . In February he tells me my hotel accommodations have been extended to may 15 . Then on March 27 he says that the accommodations end on March 31 oer the adjuster No it never had to do with the insurance claim adjuster adjusting the end date. it was Demtetri misspeaking when he said my accommodations have been extended to May 15 Then he is not man enough to admit his mistake . Instead he said that was the date we put to overextend the stay to make sure u had a room . I am in a 5 floor hotel with about 50 rooms on each floor and not even a third of the hotel is full. We lost everything in a house fire in Sept of 2021. Our insurance adjuster contacted ALE solutions to assist us with hoteling. I have an 81 year older mother and 2 adult disabled sons who live with me. ALE was In formed of our situation and family dynamics/needs. They placed us in 3 hotel rooms at Home2suites and after only 3 days of our 2 week stay we received a phone call from ALE informing us we had to move because the hotel said one of our adult sons was problematic and we were no longer welcome there. The problem, my young adult son has a mental illness and he talks to himself which made others uncomfortable. We were relocated by ALE, this time to rooms that didn't have handicapped accessibility for my mother who is blind, deaf, and has mobility impairments. After about 7 days once again we got a call that we were being asked to leave because of my son. This time we were told ALE would move us one more time and if we were asked to leave again they wouldn't help us anymore. Although they did give me the option of sending my son elsewhere and we would be allowed to stay. I refused to send him away and told them to move us. My son wasn't threatening to anyone, harmful, or in anyway destructive. He likes to take walks and is friendly to everyone he comes in contact with and his conversations aren't always easy to follow, he'll talk about clothing lines, or say he's a professional skateboarder nothing offending. He will also talk to himself, and laugh out loud at times, but he is not argumentative, aggressive, nor does he yell at or disrespect others. I tried to tell ALE this was discrimination and against The American Disability's Act. But they moved us again to rooms that didn't have a disabled room for my mom. I was told no other accomodations were available. Out of fear of not having a place to go I had to take what they gave me. I was forced to keep my son in hiding as much as possible at our next hotel. I couldn't keep him locked up all the time but once again after about 14 days we got that phone call, we were asked to leave because of problems with my son. I got to know some hotel workers pretty well and was told we were asked to leave because my son befriended a homeless person, (young adult guy) and invited him into the hotel. The kid tried to use the room number to eat the free breakfast. This all occurred within a 2 hour period. She told me the hotel manager wasn't comfortable with my son and used this as a reason to ask us to leave. The hotel is located directly next door to the homeless shelter. My son had no way of knowing his friend couldn't enter the hotel. Anyway, ALE phoned me scolding me rudely and told me they were done and we needed to leave. When I asked what we should do I was told it's not their problem. No advocacy, assistance, or empathy even though we were their clients and our money was being used to pay for their services and the hotel! ALE allowed us to be discriminated against again. I still may contact an attorney against the hotels and ALE. I haven't done anything because right now we are still staying at hotels but placed by another more professional agency whom is so much better. We have stayed at the same place since being booted by ALE In Oct 2021, without any complaints. It's because we are now being represented by people who took the time to explain our situation and actually work for us. The rooms fit our needs for my moms disability.I would not recommend ALE to anyone, especially if you have special needs because they expect you to take and be grateful for what they book for you. Shut up and be happy, your family needs or comfort isn't their primary concern. I asked several times to speak with a person in a supervisory position but was always told I was speaking to a person in charge. Our family was displaced from our home for 7 months after an accident. ALE Solutions was quick to send furniture and all the items our policy covered. However, we realized ALE sent very delicate items (white couch with paper-thin material that could only be used as a display model, never in an actual home) and then gouged us by attempting to keep our deposit. The basic scam is this: sell you cheap furniture by providing it as a "rental" through your insurance, then charging you an overpriced amount to "replace" it out of your deposit. I called them out on that little game and they reduced the charge. ALE was the go-between between us and the temporary landlord in the home our insurance rented for us. The next issue was that the landlord kept over $1,000 of our deposit because there were a few crumbs left in a drawer. We spent $800 having professional cleaners clean this rental home before we left. We did not wear our shoes in the house. We were only there 7 months. However, landlords invent any reason to keep deposits and ALE, the liaison between the parties, failed to act in good faith on behalf of us the client. ALE simply accepted the landlords false claims and did not return our full deposit. We all know the insurance industry is a scam and ALE is a part of that. If you are at all able to stay in your home after a disaster, do it. Do not use this company if at all possible and if you do, go in with your eyes wide open that you will be scammed at every turn. read more

I preface this by stating that I am a real estate professional with vast experience in the job that ALE was hired to do for me. My apartment building had a fire in October of 2016 and all residents were, and still are, evacuated. I could have easily taken care of all the details of finding temporary housing, rental furniture and lease details myself but I was required to use ALE by my insurance company. I live in NYC and ALE is based in Chicago. They know absolutely NOTHING about rental real estate in NYC. NOTHING! They made the entire process more difficult, more expensive and more stressful. Recently experienced a flood in my house and my insurance used ALE for my temporary housing needs. I would never wish a flood or other disaster to someone's home, but if it happens to you, ALE will take care of you as if you were family. About 80% of my house flooded and it was uninhabitable. Contacted my insurance and asked about what I can do regarding my living situation. They contacted ALE who then immediately called me to put me into a hotel. Coincidentally, there was a large convention going on at the same time, so hotel rooms were limited in my area, but ALE was able to place me the same day. I had wanted to stay at close to my home as possible and the hotel ALE placed me at was about 15 minutes away. There were closer options but because of the convention, they couldn't place me right away. But understanding my concerns, they made a reservation for the hotel down the street from my home and as soon as it became available, they made the change and it was absolutely seamless for me. ALE was easy to work with; they would send me text messages regarding updates on the progress of my home and estimates to my continued hotel stay. If I needed to talk to someone on the phone, they were easy to reach and always very helpful. There was some confusion with my insurance during the Labor Day Holiday and unfortunately, when I came out of work on the Friday of the holiday weekend, I found out my insurance had mistakenly stopped paying for the hotel. ALE kept in touch with me, but their hands were tied. I spoke to Jennifer Cooper, who had been the lead for my particular case, and when I contacted her, even though it was well past normal working hours, she still called me back to discuss the situation. Even though it was all my insurances fault, she did call them on my behalf and was able to negotiate another hotel room to at least give me a place to stay through the weekend until my insurance adjuster returned from the holiday weekend and I could get things straightened out. It was late in the evening on Friday, but Jennifer was not going to leave me stranded on a holiday weekend and although not in her office, was able to locate a place for me to stay until this was all straightened out with my insurance the next week. Few times do I ever come across this type of customer service where someone is willing to go out of their way to help with a problem, especially when it's not even their problem to fix. Everyone I spoke to at ALE was always extremely helpful and made my temporary housing situation very pleasant, but I particularly want to acknowledge Jennifer Cooper for going above and beyond to help me when my own insurance company wasn't helping. A flood, fire, or other disaster and a very stressful time to go through but when you have a company like ALE and people like Jennifer Cooper who go out of their way to help, it makes the whole experience that much more bearable. By far the worst customer service experience I've had in all my life. I seriously wish I could leave a zero-star rating, 1 star is far too generous. I refuse to waste anymore of my time on this company today, so I'll save my full complaint for another time when I have more energy. After being on the phone with several representatives over the course of NINE HOURS -all of which had no clue what was discussed with the representative prior - I was connected with McKayla M. (I wish I had her full last name but her "manager" Kenneetha D. refused to give it to me.) Carrying on. McKayla M talked over me and then hung up on me. I called back and received even worse treatment. McKayla admitted that she hung up on purpose. She also claimed that ALE had never spoken with me and that there was no claim. She ignorantly spouted misinformation at me for several minutes before she finally allowed me to speak and give her my claim number. As soon as she typed in my claim number voila my claim appeared. Could've saved us a ton of time and headache if she knew how to listen. Concerned with why my claim was not appearing, I attempted to ask questions. However, McKayla got frustrated, blamed me for my claim not appearing the first time, and hung up on me again - without resolving my issue. I called back and spoke with her "manager." She told me I'd have to try again in the morning. I'm currently stranded with no housing until the sun rises. Thanks, ALE! This is "convenient and affordable housing" at its finest! I'll be filing a detailed formal complaint at a later date. This company is disgusting. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

I hosted a family sponsored by ALE with an one year lease term. Somehow they wanted to terminate the lease after 6 months time. They simply sent out a vacate notice and immediately stopped payment. We were displaced from our home due to flooding and our insurance company recommended this company to act as an intermediary for housing assistance. Due to errors on their part with the funds our insurance company dispersed to them directly, they did not pay our rent in its entirety and accrued late fees as well as line items in the rental agreement. They used this opportunity to withhold more than 50% of the deposit we paid out of pocket for rental furniture from us. Do not use this company as an intermediary for your insurance payments! You are better off paying your obligations directly from your insurance company. They do not provide any value beyond misconstruing the process to further extract more profits! read more

They told us to decline another prospective tenant so they could book the dates through AirBnB and then pulled out. They knew their client was not going to take our home and did not tell us until I repeatedly called (never getting throught to an actual person just voicemails) and emailed. ALE was wonderful in placing our family of five AND two large dogs immediately after a house fire. They worked diligently to find immediate placement that could accommodate us AND accept our dogs which was no easy task being that it was the week of the Consumer Electronics Convention in Vegas with not a hotel room to be found. After our first three days of stay, they reserved accommodations at another hotel until temporary placement could be found. After I secured an Airbnb, the ALE Team reached out to the host to secure dates and payment. They checked back with us periodically on progress of our home and extended our temp stay as needed. The communication with us as well as with one another on their team was lovely, making it possible to work with anyone available rather than one individual or with the need to repeat our needs or the action steps that had already been taken or needed to be done. The communication via phone, text and email was convenient and the ALE Team Members were always polite, helpful and readily available. They had an understanding of urgency in placement or an extension of temp housing and I never felt put off or set aside waiting for what was needed. One star is being way too generous for this company. They are absolutely horrible. A pipe burst in our home, flooding half of it. I have two young children, both doing virtual learning, and I work from home. My home office and one of their bedrooms was destroyed. Our insurance company forced us to work with ALE and it has been truly a nightmare. I don't know if they have quotas or are commission based or something, but you never work with the same person. To date, I've had to go through 6 different people. All of whom call me with varying information, so there clearly is no internal discussions or tracking. Every 5 days our rentals have expired and we never have a new place to go. We're living at a hotel right now, we have to checkout tomorrow and we still have no further accomodations. This is with less than 24 hours to go. Nobody answers their phones and voicemails are full. Many times I've tried calling, it's just been completely disconnected while I've been holding. They have absolutely no customer service and don't seem to have a clue what's going on. Doesn't help that they're not even located anywhere near where I live, so trying to deal with different time zones and the people knowing absolutely nothing about the area is added stress. Do yourself a favor and NEVER work with ALE if you have any other options. read more

Worse temporary housing location company ever....the level of professionalism is none. The staff delays and miscommunicate with the homeowners and temporary landlord. Insurance company should eliminate them from their list of consultants. They promise something and then don't deliver. I wish no homeowner are assign to this company for assistance. Honestly I wish I had invested in my own furniture and houseware because in the end ALE is charging us anyway. Our house BURNED DOWN and when ALE contacted us they made us feel amazing and like they could take care of everything during the terrifying time we had just experienced, when we don't know how to deal with anything. It was a relief. They make sure to THINK OF EVERY DETAIL! They encouraged us fill every room in the house with furniture. It's only my husband and I and they "helped" us think of all the extras. Well little did we know they charge for every piece of furniture. Now it's the end and they are CHARGING us HUNDREDS of dollars for 2 items. Apparently they can't clean the items, crazy enough I have cleaned them in the past and made them like new. So Covid19 has caused the world to shut down, including our home being built, but ALE is still charging us hundreds. SO WE ARE RETURNING THE FURNITURE EARLY BECAUSE OUR HOME CONSTRUCTION HAS BEEN PUT ON HOLD DUE TO COVID19 AND ARE LIVING IN AN ESSENTIALLY EMPTY HOUSE TO AVOID LOSING EVERYTHING! Same on you ALE. Oh the irony. Our family was displaced due to water damage making our home unlivable.Insurance delays only worsened the matter. Like most American families, our funds were tight after the recent birth of our second child. During a displacement, ALE is supposed to help bridge the cost gap so that you don't have to front the money and then wait to be reimbursed by insurance when funds are generally already tied up in the scramble. HA!! The hotel ended up holding $2800 of my money because ALE didn't put a credit card down. There went the main impetus for using their service. ALE is also supposed to "negotiate" rate to help control costs. Having worked in the association industry for over a decade, I have an idea of where that discount should be. I also know to run comparisons regularly on frequently used properties. If you know how to use Google though, you are already light years ahead of ALE. The hotel they placed us at has some nice staff, but serious issues. NOT ALE's fault, but I wonder how well they review the properties they use. When we checked in, I asked about the rate and was told $119 per night. OK. Probably about $20 per night too high, but it was the peak season. I looked up the rates online several times and they were averaging $89-109. Irritating. Yet, with a ton of work to do to recover, the small rate difference wasn't the largest priority. As it turns out, we are being charged $159 a night. What? To breathe in the smell of mold and dander? Does that cost extra? Do we pay more to have a useless hot plate rather than an actual stove? Why are we being charged $50 more per night booking through ALE than I would pay if I had booked the room myself? What irks me is that when I called ALE Solutions to give them a "heads up," I was primarily concerned with future service utilizers who may have even more extensive repairs and need a lengthier stay. Guess what their response was? Bring it up with your adjuster. Um, the adjuster doesn't study the hotel industry. They hire ALE for that. I also asked what had been paid out to the hotel on my behalf. That question, of course, was punted as well. As there are service fees for ALE. I understand that one, but the staff member with ALE had the customer service skills of rabid yeti. Yes, we could totally use a few more days because infants and concrete dust don't get along. But for a family displaced by a complete home loss, this kind of fiscal negligence is inexcusable. Most families have a cap on their ALE that is around 20% of their personal property protection limit. So unless you have a massive Wedgewood collection insured, wasting $50 a day of ALE monies means significantly less days to make repairs and significantly more stress on an already stressed family. read more

I am dismayed by this company. Having had a total loss, I've had a lot on my mind and every interaction with this company has been stressful. My insurance, StateFarm, uses them to arrange housing for policy holders; it was not my choice. What I have experienced so far (note: it has been three weeks since the loss) is the following: very long wait times, the absence when on hold of a leave number auto call back feature (i.e. you need to wait, wait, & wait on phone or leave a message which may or may not be returned), a couple hang-ups (my signal is fine and it doesn't happen with anyone else), challenging service (people on the phone seem stressed and are not kind to people like me who have had great loss), and some confusing directions/guidance from them. Generally, instead of being advocates and partners in a time of need, they have made me feel alone and the interaction is chilly & uncompassionate. I can not give them a good review, would advise StateFarm to switch, and customers/policy holders to ask to use another service when and if you can. read more

They were easy to work with, put my properties out on their many networks, paid quickly and we're very human about it all. The company works with a lot of insurance companies, so they might be good at what they do. No problems here. I just gave them my info again to place fire victims. read more
