There's a large outdoor seating area and limited seating inside with a few tables seating 4/5 and a long table through the middle of the deli. The staff are attentive and they made insanely good coffees (in addicted to their chai lattes). The menu has something for most tastes- big platters featuring locally sourced meats and cheeses, focaccias, salads and cakes to name a few. Prices are pretty standard, some may think the platters a bit overpriced but they are actually very filling. These guys are very passionate about supporting businesses on the Fleurieu Peninsula and in SA. So many of my favourite producers feature on the menu- say cheese, Four winds chocolate, swell beer, dawn patrol coffee roasters, spice girlz and fine and dandy Teahouse. It's the perfect place to kick back with a coffee, have a long lunch or a sneaky wine (because it's attached to Wirra Wirra, one of the best wineries going around). First was wagu croquette, basically a crumbed mushy puree, then salty and pepper squid, which was okay, then overcooked whiting dripping in grease, a mediocre salad of winter vegetables, some chips and overcooked roast potato portions. Also a small plate of sliced wagu to share. No desserts, no cheeses, no coffee, no choices. And there goes $99 Per person. Having said that the service was good. While it is pretty casual inside the food is much more than you might expect from what looks like a shack on the beach. We enjoyed the fish of the day, grilled served with a few chips and salad. We also shared a tomato salad entree and some bread. Food was fresh, high quality and perfectly prepared. Portions were very reasonable - this is not a place where you need to order an appetizer instead of a main course to avoid over eating. Service was very warm and welcoming and you just can't beat the view. If you want to eat inside away from the heat, advance reservations are essential. Recommended.

I remember coming here a number of years back and attempting to wangle my way into the nightclub…read more The ironic thing was that I happened to be on a church camp, and the people I was with, who were also trying to wangle themselves into the nightclub were my church friends. Yeah, church had certainly changed since I was a kid. Anyway, this pub is quite new, and quite nice as well. The service is pretty good, and they even have a nice selection of beers on tap. In a way it was certainly one of those rather charming places where I could spend some time having a drink.
