Something in my body told me to check the website to see if…read morepeaches were ready earlier this week, and to my surprise, they had stopped the picking to allow more fruit to ripen. Do you know what that meant!? It means they had already started picking them and I was late! Again! I remembered to look again today and it said it was open but it might not last all day and they highly doubt there would be peaches available to pick for Saturday or Sunday. The website noted the late freeze in April didn't give them a great harvest this year. That meant RUN RUN RUN ‍ so that's exactly what I did. Although I missed two exits getting there SMH, I pulled up, changed my shoes, and opened my trunk to grab my little red wagon. To my dismay, it was not there! I could not believe it because how was I going to haul all my peachesand by myself?! I quickly called my mama and she told me she indeed still had its. I was heartbroken because I was already by myself and no one could come such last minute but now I have to somehow carry the heavy peaches through the field and the hot sun. I looked around and saw wheelbarrows but already knew they would be way too heavy for me to pull around the field so I quickly emptied a reusable bag for my box to go in, and headed to the stand. This year you have to purchase a entry band for everyone that is within the field. That $3 goes towards the farm and whatever they need. Years prior, container size you purchased dictated how many people could go into the field to cleft l collect for that box. Bigger box, more people. I noticed a sign stating I couldn't bring a tote bag in the field and the gentleman explained he would have to check it on the way out. I didn't really care about that and explained to him how I left my wagon and he offered for me to use one of their wheelbarrows. I declined at first because I knew it was going to be too heavy for me to haul around and I instantly had flashbacks of back in the day trying to move that thing. I decided to walk over and see how heavy it was. Guess what!? These wheelbarrows are so lightweight! They're not even made of steel LOL I was so happy and quickly grabed the wheelbarrow, put my box in along with my things, and headed into the field after paying. The smell of peaches fermenting has got to be one of my all-time favorites! It was a warm day today so I definitely took my time and tried to find shade as I picked my peaches. My box quickly filled up so I grabbed one, munched on it and then left after taking some video. What a quick visit. I knew my next stop was to grab my favorite peach butter so I headed to the store. They have less products this year and I wondered how our current climate has been impacting other farms which helps supply their store. They have a few different varieties of mushrooms all boxed for 10 bucks to include lion's mane, porcini, yellow trumpets and others. I made my way around the perimeter of the store and saw some of the usuals like beef jerky, beeswax candles, kraut, cheeses, milk and such. When I got to my favorite spot with my peach butter, there was none! The whole top shelf was empty! This has happened to me before and I had to come back. Hopefully I'll be able to grab some at a later date but if you go grab me a jar lol. I then started looking for to Taharka's ice cream and noticed a deep freezer with a sign indicating the ice cream was inside. I decided not to grab any because I wasn't too sure if I was headed straight home or not. The last time I had to eat both pints so that they didn't melt in my car . . . . . I can't wait for my next adventure at Larriland. The fall will be a great time to visit as well. Oh yeah, right now currently they have onions, tomatoes, potatoes, beets and some other pick your owns in season as well. Happy picking

I'd say it's better suited for the toddler or younger age. My six year old twins enjoyed their time, but it was fairly limited with activities. We bought fall festival tickets in advance and wish we didn't since some of the activities weren't open since it was too early in the season. We also were expecting the fruit and vegetable picking would have been included with our tickets, but they weren't. The market on site was great with a wide range of vegetables, fruits, and pastries. Everything was fresh and we bought way more than we would have normally! We went on the hay ride, which was enjoyable but again more geared towards the little ones as it passes by Disney characters made out of paper mache. After the hay ride, they had a "boo barn" which was a walk through haunted house, which was more like light up goblins in 2 rooms. That was the other item, besides the hay ride, that was included in the $14 dollar ticket for each of us. We didn't think that was really worth the price of over $50. We'd recommend skipping the fall festival tickets. Instead, the real value and fun was the fruit and vegetable picking. We picked raspberries and tomatoes. It was fun! Our advice: skip advance tickets and just do the picking. It was a nice 2 hour detour but not a full day activity like so many other farms nearby.

On the property, we visited the petting zoo, did a kid's corn maze (along with a slide), took a hayride to the pumpkin patch and had the kids pick out their own pumpkins. They had a ball! The farm also has fresh vegetables, ciders, honey, jams, meat and other items available for purchase. The entry fee is $11 for those 2 and above which I think is reasonable. They also have ice cream(which they all loved), milkshakes, root beer floats and pulled pork sandwiches available for purchase. They have strawberry and blackberries for picking in the spring(will be back). The family was very friendly and informative. was friendly. My Grandkids had a ball. I Got my first CSA this past weekend and am super excited! They have plenty of vegetables, grain, fruits, eggs and chicken. The latter two are additional that you can add to your regular subscription. The owner lived in Hawaii before and has Chinese background which I really appreciate as I can get to try some Chinese vegetables :) not available anywhere else. The farming practice they adopted is called ecological which based on my understanding, is even stricter than organic farming. Check out this place for CSA. You won't regret it.

I arrived half an hour after opening and it was crowded. Long lines for people using WIC vouchers. Most of the produce tags were written with their Spanish names. Some produce had no price tags and I didn't want to stand in line without knowing the prices. I had to ask about the fresh mushrooms that were $5/$8 depending on the size of the carton. There were food booths selling stuff like pupusas for $3 a piece. No entertainment on my visit. It's nice to know their is a place for people to use WIC for fresh fruits and veggies. The only fruit I saw was apples and small plums. Even though Yelp lists the address as University Ave, it's actually on Ann Street and you can't enter off University Ave. I had to backtrack and weave through the neighborhood (with the help of my map app) and find Ann St again to park a block away. Next time I will know better!

The kimchee is either cabbage and cucumber, and comes in small (a little bigger than a deck of cards $3) or large (the size of a day planner, approx 8.5"x5" $6) Plus, the couple who runs the place is so nice and helpful, and super quick! Sometimes the lady gives me a sample of freshly made kimchee if she's cooking in the back which is mmm :) And the bulgogi ($6/lb I believe) is amazing. Foolproof, and an easy way to pretend that you're an impressive cook. These guys are the first produce section inside when you're coming to Eastern Market from the metro. They always have beautiful displays of a good selection of fruits and veggies (prices are a little on the steeper side in general, but that's Eastern Market for you). I usually swing by here if I need a last minute lemon/garlic/parsnip/leek/etc after work, but I usually shy away from it on weekends when it's packed. Also, veggies/fruits in season are reasonably priced here and better quality than what you would find at Harris Teeter or Safeway. They also have a mini-grocery with staples and sauces. If you have no car and can't get out to H mart or Wegman's, this place has a good selection of Asian cooking sauces. Lentils were $3/bag here though, so I would stay away from other cheap staples unless absolutely necessary. Tip: Make sure to bring your reusable bag so they don't charge that new DC bag tax (they're strict at this place). Yes, you will get a banana and be expected to either hold it or bring your own bag. SERVICE everyone was very friendly. it's also nice to see they employ young adults, which feels good to support. FOOD the small store has fresh produce plus unique butters, sauces, condiments, apple cider, treats, ice cream, and donuts. they only sell donuts by the dozen, so we didn't get any, but we left with sauces and candy. if i lived in the area i'd come back mainly for the plants.

They have seemingly every pumpkin and gourd one could imagine, from the perfectly round classics to the wonderfully odd little varieties that look destined for a harvest-themed centrepiece. There is plenty to wander around and see, and everyone working there is consistently kind, helpful, and happy to point you in the right direction. Beyond the pumpkins, they have loads of fresh produce, prepared foods, snacks, and products from local companies. It genuinely feels like you could walk in with no dinner plan whatsoever and leave with everything needed to cook an entire meal. The animals are another charming part of the experience and make the visit feel like more than just a shopping trip. Between the seasonal displays, local goodies, produce, and friendly atmosphere, Nalls is a thoroughly lovely neighborhood stop and one of my favourite places to visit in autumn.

I purchased a turkey croissant sandwich to eat for lunch. I couldn't resist a Kioa cold brew coffee as well. I especially like the authentic peanut butter machine, where you can make your own. Everything is totally awesome about this store, and I do believe it's even more affordable than the big chain organic grocery store.
