Notified clerk, who passed the information to management. Management walked towards the area on my way out. Found the same torn and expired packages the next day, but re-arranged neatly. The employees are nice and courteous overall. Hate the automatic voice asking for your card. The "welcome" evokes memories of a welcoming drill sergeant. I don't want to be talked at. Have repeatedly found misleading price tags. 12oz crushed tomatoes price in the 28oz crushed tomatoe section is one example.

I hate how Dollar General has flooded all of Yelp with stock photos of their stores. This location…read moredoes not look anything like what they have posted. This location is in a plaza and the front of it is the generic plaza fronting you get anywhere. Aside from the Dollar General sign above the entrance, you wouldn't compare this to the pictures. Inside it is a bit cramped. Much like other Dollar Generals out there. They did seem to have much of the freight off the carts and stocked on the shelves. I honestly did not come in here for anything but I was with my family and towed along. Even though I did not come in here for anything I mindlessly picked up items because I thought it would be a good idea to have something. I still have the magazine that I haven't read yet. The staff were pretty great here. I unexpectedly found one of those one cent deals that you see on TikTok. The staff member at the register informed me of this and asked if I wanted to go back and get more of the item, well, yeah, of course I do. For a penny I will definitely clear out that shelf.

This has always been a constant when travelling on US 219. When you come upon this spot you know…read moreyou are just outside Somerset and the Turnpike is not far away. It is kind of like an oasis when travelling in this area of Pennsylvania. This sits on a fairly big piece of land, but somehow still feels small. Maybe that is because many people stop here to get gas or pick a forgotten item at home. My most recent visit here I observed many people coming out with items like milk and bread. You may end up paying a bit more than at your neighborhood grocery store, but I don't think many people would mind due to the fact that you are saving yourself a trip and some hassle. As far as gas prices, they are reasonable and expected for the area. Honestly I feel like this spot could charge whatever it wanted. They do not have any immediate competition nearby. It is one of the first exits to Somerset that offers gas. And people will come here regardless of that. Not sure who supplies the gas, but it seems to be fairly good with mileage. For a roadside stop, definitely fills the need.

Unfortunately, they've been closed since Sunday, so I wasn't able to squeeze in one more visit before heading home. The portions here are incredible--even the baby-size ice cream is huge and more than enough for most people. The prices are very reasonable, making it an excellent value. The French vanilla milkshake was exceptional--rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. I also picked up some Swiss cheese, and it was just as impressive. Whether you're stopping in for ice cream, a milkshake, or some of their dairy products, this place offers fantastic quality at an affordable price. I can't wait to come back the next time I'm in the area.
