This Aldi is new as of a few months ago, sited in the same lot US Cavalry occupied before moving out of (then) Radcliff proper. It was a buffet place for years and years, but they've taken the site down to grade or below. Convenient location (if not so great / understandable, traffic-planning-wise) for Radcliff (which (other that an iffy Wal-Mart) is otherwise without a large traditional grocery store), closer than the "Neighborhood Market" nearish JHHS.
Given how this location has been categorized, let me be clear: they have about six kinds of random bottled beer (in very limited quantities), and round out the display with bottled soda. NO wine. No liquor. Their setup (as is, given current local requirements) will never allow package sales of wine or liquor, unless Aldi suddenly becomes a drug store.
Anyway - it is new, clean-ish, busy, and far(!) better (and more reliably) stocked than the Etown Aldi ever was (it is currently under remodel).
Produce looks more fresh (there are even cool cases for about a third of produce offered!!) than in Etown, by F-A-R.
There are sections for organic items and gluten free (if that's your thing). And on repeated visits, I have to say, these types of items seemed to be reliably stocked, not "We're not telling you, but this is only going to be available once per year..."
There is an actual meat section with stuff (meaning fresh ground beef, fresh cuts of meat) you might find at a (non-Aldi) grocery, rather than only processed meat.
They still stock an awful lot of protein-in-a-can, though; be wary.
There are bigger Aldis - Lexington, for sure, has one that's significantly larger and even better stocked. And there are certainly better grocery stores. But given what folks are used to here, it's a definite improvement. read more
