Was not awesome to me, it had more new stuff than vintage. As big as this place was there was roughly 20 booths out of what looks to be over 100 spaces, and was not really worth looking at. Sad was wanting to come here and enjoy. Was a big disappointment to me and friends. Friend did find something that's it. It's so fun to walk around and explore what people have for sale. It seems like every-time we go we find something new. Here, you'll find incredibly respectful and nice staff and vendors. Decent deals. Maybe even some rare/vintage finds! Lots of toys brand new for cheap. Clean tables and chairs, bathrooms and AMAZING FOOD. The cook gave us some free fries, because she had some extra (perhaps I'm bias but.. kinda awesome of her) also my boyfriend says the sweet tea is the best on earth. It sure is 100% suga- I mean southern sweet tea This is our second time here and each time it was super busy but never lacked to have a clean table or even waiting area. My anxiety is pretty high going to high populated areas like this, but everyone stays to themselves, really. If you go, the limeade shakeup is a MUST HAVE. If you're bored, this is for you. My car was vandalized in the parking lot in broad daylight at the Awesome Flea market. both mirrors were damaged taking dust covers off of my mirrors fingerprints all over from the vandals and scratched paint job. Shepherdsville is full of vandals especially at the flea market. read more

This is a decent giant flea market extravaganza here in Sheperdsville. There are things everywhere it has everything you could pretty much what we're asked for or never wanna see you again it's probably for sale here at this place. Awesome???? My A55! Drove down 65 to Shepherdsville to check out the large awesome flea market. Food was limited to a one or two places. The place was pretty busy most if the vendors were friendly. We were looking for some deals. On starter tomato plants. Bring cash, The ATM machines phone lines got hit yesterday. The morning of the derby race. They have some deals for somethings, tools, movies, toys, camo bdu. Lodge cast iron, custom signs, t shirts. I didn't care for the dog mill situation, or the fact, fresh produce was very limited. So no great deals. The indoor flea market was nice cool the bathrooms were sort of handicap accessible. The doors thresholds were difficult to negotiate/maneuver even with help and do not attempt to negotiate the ramp out back. To shop outside since the parking lot has a dangerous grade (read... this will hurt and leave a scar) if you live it's also going to hurt real bad.. even for two persons / helper. The standard ramp should have 1 foot of run for every inch of rise. Many of the booths were empty or vendors took off for this Sunday. I'd come back again after I'm board to get out and do anything like exercise. Wear good shoes. And your feet will be thankful. read more

Stopped in one weekend. The outside didn't have nearly the vendors they usually have but it was extremely hot that weekend. After walking around out front for awhile we made our way up to the Kina truck - reward for making it! Then into the building we ventured. Ice Cold Air was pumping through the building. You had no idea it was about 100 degrees outside. Walked all around and grabbed a few odds and ends and headed towards the food booth in the back. My family and I don't come here often, due to how far it is from our home. The few times we have stopped by, the visits have been okay. There are vendors inside and outside. During nice weather, there are a few fruit stands set up outside.(personal favorite) Once inside, you'll notice it's easy to walk around and the aisles are large. Most vendors were open during our recent trip, so I was pleased with that. My family and I found a lot of vendors selling video games and hot wheels(my husband likes the video games and my toddler loves hot wheels) so these things made the trip worthwhile. There is a large parking lot, but I'd recommend getting there early during nice weather because it does fill up fast.(past experience) read more

The place is half empty. Bathrooms are a mess. The parking lot is a haphazard combination of blowing trash and potholes. Wasn't sure if it was open. No advertising. Parking and crowds are not a problem. read more

Working in Kentucky and visiting the Awesome Flea Market , several vendors outside with lots of different Items, they have a huge indoor area with tons of things to choose from I had a good time , they have plenty of food and beverages to choose from , easy in and out plenty parking . read more

We go every Sunday and we love it. But today we went and there is an older man set up outside under the walkway in the middle who has several knives in cases ND nunchucks not in cases etc. He was a complete jerk and I would recommend never buying anything from this man. He is a womanizer and was very rude and talked down to me when I picked up a set of nunchucks and he grabbed them from me and said do not touch my stuff this is my stuff very very rude like and I stated I was going to buy them and he was being a jerk and then he started to cuss me and say really obscene stuff and flicking me off. I made a complaint about this man. I would never buy this anything from this man. He should be banned from the fleas market for treating customers the way he did!!! read more

There are several booths that sell puppies. The type of puppies from backyard breeders and puppy mills that do no health testing of the parents, breed strictly for profit, and provide fancy "1 year health guarantees for genetic defects" when most of these genetic defects can't even be diagnosed until 2+ years of age. I'd like to state that I have nothing against responsible dog breeding, but this ain't it. Breeding a female dog over and over and over in order to have a constant supply of cute puppies to sell to suckers who either don't care about the conditions the breeding dogs are kept in or haven't bothered to learn is not responsible or fair to the animals. Many puppy mills simply cage the females their entire lives. Unfortunately, a lot of the mama dogs end up in shelters once they are too old to breed since they were only useful while they were producing profit-making puppies. And oddly enough, they have a "No Pets" sign for the building. As for the other booths, there is a range from the crappy to the useful to the pretty good quality. This place is down the street from where I live. I've been a few times, most recently this past weekend. It's a hit or miss in this place. I wanted a Texas Star for my house and found it here at a better price than anywhere else. Like most paces you know not to buy makeup or clothes here because it's cheap, old and won't last long. The dog lady is no longer in business here THANK GOD! The food is good but kinda pricey. It's not a glamorous place by any means but every once in a while you'll find a good deal. They also offer a "float down the salt river ride" and honestly why would you want to?!? The Salt River stinks and it's dirty. So I wouldn't waste my money. read more

If you are expecting anything like a mall or a delightful shop, don't bother. This is where the belly of society thrives. You need that odd screw to finish repairing that 1972 Sanyo TV, more likely you will find it there. Want to argue with a toothless old woman over 35 cents, this is your Mecca. Need to find that old sign that used to hang in your grandparents basement when you were a kid, now that urge can be put to rest. This market was ok by me. First...the puppies. I wasn't a fan myself of seeing puppies as a vendor but after learning that the lady who sells them takes them home everyday and they actually live in a real house while the lady sleeps in her RV. I don't know any more than that but I know that Ive been to AFM a few times and I see different dogs there so I dont know if she's buying from the mills or running it. Nonetheless I don't think selling puppies there is appropriate. As for the rest of the market, lets be honest...a place called a "flea" market--what do you expect to see there? Garage sale rejects, rejects of everything. Its where you go to bargain and just look around. I actually enjoyed it very much, not that I bought alot but I enjoy seeing those old junky items that were rejected. Its a jog down memory lane sometimes and you just never know what you'll see. For a few hours to run through it, I thought it was pretty neat and I was able to purchase everything I wanted at bargain prices. Good vendor for Health and Beauty supplies like shampoo and conditioner, laundry detergent, deo, toothpaste, feminine products, and other dollar store odds and ends. Beware of the vendor selling Beats and Otterboxes--they are counterfeit. They tell you that they are authentic but they aren't. If you ever try to use Otterbox's warranty program they will ask for photos of the inside markings that determine whether they are authentic or not and if you don't pass, you don't get a warranty replacement. It's a typical fleamarket for all the folks who were talking about it being dirty or nasty it's a fleamarket if you're looking for something like that go to the mall. As for all the people making accusations about puppy mills and deplorable conditions etc. I have bought two dogs from this plea market both have been good health and live long lives you're making unsubstantiatedclaims based on absolutely no evidence whatsoever find something better to do with your life thank you. read more

we bought a beautiful red poodle from awesome flee market. she is very smart. she understands a lot of what i say on command without any trouble at all. very loveable, sleeps on her back, which is soo cute. she loves to bring the ball back to us, and is constantly amusing or surprising us. also she loves to snuggle up or lay in you lap. i just wish that i could send her picture in for anyone to see her as she is simply gorgeous!!! read more
