Not for me! This place seems very inconvenient when it comes to the way they conduct their business. I do not like the idea of having to bring quarters to check out shopping carts. Also I do not like having to buy my own bags. Seems like the nickel-and-dime you just so you can save a little bit of money on the very few products that they have. They do not have a butcher or a deli counter. They have a very small selection on everything. They do have an amazing price on eggs and milk. I would come here maybe if it was right next door to my home but this is about 6 miles away from my home and right next to Costco. I choose Costco Baby! Also, having the cashier sitting down just seems very awkward. Why do you guys have gardening section in the middle of the store? It smells like a Home Depot. I've been here several times now, and in the first few days, there were a bunch of employees available to assist the customers, but that has slacked off now. Also, on a previous visit, I put my bags in my cart (they are large and stay open) and the cashier happily loaded my purchases directly into the bags, so it was very convenient for me. On my last visit, however, I asked the cashier to give me a few seconds to set my bags in the empty cart they use to deposit the groceries, but she just pointed and said, "bagging area is over there," pointing to the long bar against the front wall, and immediately started rushing my purchases into the cart on either side of my bags, even after I got them open. Because she was in such a rush, I stopped putting my things on the belt to get my bags in the empty cart and she was demanding payment before I got everything out of my cart. Finally, after half of my groceries were scattered all over the cart, she realized how easy it would be to just put them in the bags like I had asked and started doing that. There was no one in line behind me and there was no reason to ignore my request to make things more convenient for me, and I nearly just left without my stuff, but I finished, went to the "bagging area" and wasted more time digging things out of the bottom of the cart and putting them in my wide open bags. Most of the employees seem very pleasant and helpful, but that experience alone was enough to make me stop shopping at Aldi, however there are several other drawbacks. First, the aisles are way too small. If there are two carts side by side, it is impossible to get past them, even if you don't have a cart of your own, and that happens often. I went once on a weekend and that was so bad I just walked out. Parking is very cramped also, and, to top it off, there are quite a few pretty common items that they just don't have. Today, I was looking for Tabasco sauce (or even Aldi's version of Tabasco), apple cider vinegar, ginger root, but they had none of these things. There are a few items that I really do like at Aldi, and those items are very well priced. You can get a pound of sharp cheddar cheese for $2.74, a pound of their brand of bacon (Appleton Farms) for $3.49 (and it's really good) and a few other items that I may stop by if I happen to be in the area to pick up, but only what I can fit in a single bag so I don't have to mess with their cart and bagging system. Basically, Aldi is a smaller version of Fresh & Easy with cashiers. They do have a few decent items, but there are many more negatives than positives. ** UPDATE - As of June, 2016, I have stopped by a few times for my bacon and $.79 eggs and found the store almost completely vacant. I guess the novelty has worn off, but I am hoping they stay around a while. I've been hearing about this grocery market ALL THE TIME on Reddit. And the quality and savings lives to the hype. This grocery is really cool. About the bring-your-own-bag and quarter-for-a-cart mechanics: I appreciate the $0.25 grocery cart mechanic (you insert a quarter to get your cart, and can take it out once you've returned it) because this leads everyone to return their cart, and the parking lot isn't as messy. Also, bringing your own bags is awesome because my reusable bags are farrrr more stable than plastic bags. It's easier to organize and carry my groceries to my car and to my apartment. It's just a matter of remembering to bring them! About the quality: It's been about 5 days since I bought groceries at Aldi, and so far I've been having a great experience with the groceries I bought. No errors in expiration, no wilting produce, no flavor contamination of any kind. While there isn't anything that screams "overachieving," this is about what I expect that Food for Less or Ralphs can fail to achieve sometimes. About the price: 79 cents for a dozen eggs is killer!! My boyfriend is staying over, and he needs eggs for his bodybuilding diet. So Aldi is saving me a lot of money, just because of the eggs. As for the other groceries, I bought everything I needed for me and him for half a week or so, and it came out to $33. Loving it. read more

This is a discount grocery store that opened recently in Moreno Valley next to Costco. It is new, so it is clean. There are only a few customers so I imagine most people don't know about it. The prices are low as the products are knock offs of major name brands. It's kind of like a 99 cent grocery store on instead of 99 cents its $2.00. Prices are comparable to Maxi foods. They also have a wide selection of gluten free products. To use a shopping cart you must first unlock it with a quarter which will be returned to you after you return the cart. Mall parking. The business prides itself on the use of solar panels to power the store and displays this information as you exit the store. read more

If you don't have tons of money to spend on groceries (me), or you just don't like to spend money (also me), this place is AWESOME. I go to this location cause i can hit up costco for some bulk stuff like cereal, protein, kodiac cakes, yogurt, cheese, sour cream, those salad mixes, etc... maybe get a pizza for between my shopping trips ;).... and then ALDIs is there for your everyday stuff. Cheapest produce by far, cheap eggs, cheap milk, etc. It is HARD to walk out of this store spending more than $50. I will go CRAZY, fullll cart of stuff and usually stay around $30 or $40 for 2 weeks of food (plus I just got my months worth of other stuff at costco). It's the perfect combo with those two right next to each other. I've tried Winco down the road and i really think ALDI is the best option for saving money. You just have to go a few times and learn exactly what are the ticket items from there. I pretty much only go there for food, household stuff like soap I'd stick with walmart or dollar general or something like that. And you have to remember that ALDI is doin something ~special~ behind the scenes, working with places to get these deals and to stay cheap, so they don't always have everything and it's not 100% consistent. But if you know that that is what is keeping those prices down, BE OKAY WITH IT. go get those 9 avocados for $3, the next state up in oregon 1 avocado would be $3. The prices are decent but not great, 99 cent store and Sam's club have comparable prices. I found a lot of good stuff, but it's very small. And I like to be helped bagging, I have 4 children so it's kind of lacking there. In the cold section I opened about three doors to grab items, then made my way to the milk, I was wearing flip flops and bam the door sliced open my toe! Razor sharp corner of the heavy metal door! Apparently the milk fridge is the only one that goes all the way from floor to ceiling, and has no rubber to protect unsuspecting customers. It really hurt and brought me to tears along with bleeding. A manager Ian offered assistance with a band aid or alcohol wipe but that was it, kind of bad experience. Be careful! read more

Aldi is awesome during inflation. You do not come to Aldi for the amazing customer service - that's what a spa is for. This company tells you what their model is: few employees, you bring your own bags, you need a quarter to get your cart and you return the cart if you want the quarter back. That's it. The promise is lower prices not catering to your every need. They deliver on the low price promise. If you know this store is deliberately understaffed, you need to understand that every item you pick up you need to check for dates of expiration, check the integrity of packaging, and check all fruit and vegetables prior to purchase. I don't mind doing this, since the only reason I come here is to save money. I have had excellent experiences with the quality of their produce and meat. I am suspicious of the fancier eggs - but what that means to me is that if I want to buy fancy pasture raised eggs, I need to go buy them elsewhere. That's it. For things that are properly packaged this place is great. If you like German products - Aldi is great. And the location is fine too. No issues. I am in a love love love ((((hate))))) relationship with this store, Everytime I go, I find great deals. Today I went and the avacados were .25 cents each...they also had boxed stuffing .25cents and organic canned tomatoes 27cents for the large can. The meat is like stater Bros in quality {opinion} but like hmmmm .....hmmm. I was going to say like a condom section at the grocery stores....but they have alot of choice...and Aldi doesn't. Which I'm almost always okay with....but the hate part....I'm sorry...I never ever can find everything on the list. I used to love this store but now not as much. The new layout with produce at the front of the store causes congestion at the entrance. The "Aldi Finds" are now on a more narrow aisle then before which makes it very crowded. It seems the store isn't stocked as fully as it used to be. I'm hoping flowers and plants return because I haven't seen any in a few weeks. Maybe I'm just getting there when things are sold out but I've gone to another Aldi several times to get an item from the current ad because this store didn't have it. I'm surprised people give aldi bad reviews. They must not understand how good of deals they have , but I'm not surprised because most people don't even know how to cook. I love this place! Yes, typically they don't always have the same things, but the basics they always carry. Aldi has the cheapest prices for so much different produce, dairy, and meat. I love this store ! I save almost 100 dollars every time I get my groceries here. I can't wait for them to open more! And to those complaining about not having name brands, it's because it's not an American store.. people in other countries don't eat all the trash we do here. During my first visit I was overcharged. Thankfully the clerk fixed it and refunded the difference in cash on the spot but I was still left wildly amused by the incident which held up a couple other customers in line and was far too much trouble to deal with for off brand snacks. Almost everything is off brand and I was charged much higher, almost the price of brand name products. Oh and they mostly sell off brand snacks and a ton of frozen pizzas. I was disappointed that their canned food sections (aside from canned produce) didn't have many on the go foods aside from pasta and ravioli. A poor first impression. read more

It's taken some getting used to the layout of the store which is kind of wonky. Also, remember to bring your own bags or you will pay for them and bring a quarter for a cart or you won't be buying (or saving) much! When it's crowded it's difficult to get around the store. It's a little weird to have gardening items in the middle of the store but sometimes they have good deals on those items as well. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of their brands. There are even some items that our family likes better than the brand name products. Prices are good on most items and if you don't like an item you can bring it back for a full refund and replacement. Makes it easy to try things without the risk. Sadly though, some of the items that we try and love they only carry for a short time and then they are gone which is very disappointing. read more

This was my first time here at the Moreno Valley store and have never been treated so rude in my life. I noticed the back swinging doors open by the meats and the sign on the doors said "please keep this door shut at all times". I thought it was funny so I was going to take a picture of it and a woman that works there came up to me and rudely asked "are you going to take a picture?" and I didn't even get to answer and she started going off how It's against the law to take pictures in this store and started defending herself because she knew the doors were supposed to be shut and they had been left open for over five minutes and walked away shut the doors. There are no signs in the store that says "no photography in this store" posted anywhere. I was mad at how she approached me and she could have nicely said it in a different way. She came back out of the doors and asked her why it's illegal to take pictures in this store and she rudely said " it's an ALDI policy" and said to quit pointing fingers at her and asked what her name was and her name is BRIANNA. So went to checkout and asked the cashier guy in the front if there are any signs posted anywhere about it's illegal to take pictures in this store and he said no. Then rude BRIANNA came up to us while we were checking out and told her there are no signs up that said no photography in the store and she rudely said again "it's the store policy" and was basically attacking with words accusing me of taking photos of the back that was behind those doors, which I did not or I would post them on here, and being really snotty. She mumbled something rude as she walked away with her push broom. I was really looking forward to visiting this store and will Never go back again. The customer is always right does not exist with them. That BRIANNA girl thought she owned the place being so rude. One bad apple will ruin the whole bunch and that's BRIANNA. read more

If I could put a zero star I would, I was doing an instacart order for two people and told the cashier just that she accidentally split up my last order and when I told her that she made a mistake she refused to even acknowledge her mistake and tried to blame it on me. I even reminded her that I told her there were two orders and she said I know, but I thought it was 3 because there was a little space in between them with a very rude attitude. I said "then she should of been listening" and then she proceeded to say "excuse me" to try and challenge me so I repeated myself I told her to get a manager and then she proceeded to tell me she was the manager until she finally got up and got the manager. I'm sure if I said something else she would've tried to take a swing at me but obviously she can't handle simple customer service. She made the mistake and gave me an attitude about it when I called her out on it she also gave no solution as to how to fix my issue because I was unsure if I could swipe my instacard again. I really like this place. The prices are great. I still have to go to Target to purchase items they don't sell, and I don't mind, because I would go to Target regardless. Almost every time I go into Aldi I bump into an employee named Brianna. She's always very friendly (and kind of cute) so today I started quizzing her about the cheap egg prices. She explained that Aldi has its own chicken farms, and that keeps the price lower than other supermarkets (who buy their eggs from private farms). So THAT'S the secret! It was nice to talk to someone intelligent instead of your typical adolescent mouth-breather. Besides the cheap eggs, they have a great section called "Aldi Finds" that Brianna was stocking when I came in. (She called it the "fun aisle") That's where they put special buys and limited quantity items. She showed me some awesome caramel-chocolate pretzels for a buck! It's never the same twice, so if you see something you like, grab it; it will be gone quickly. Overall, this is a really good store and worth a visit. I'd give it 5 stars, but you probably won't be able to do ALL your shopping there...I still have to visit Stater Brothers for some things. And if you see Brianna (she's a Manager) ask her what she recommends that day. read more

i have high hopes with Aldi, i was expecting to just shop here and cleared out all my shopping list, but they dont even have papaya, apple cider vinegar, louisiana hot sauce and all other small things you find in your kitchen. i had to stop by at food4less just to get those things. but enough about that, this place is a little small compared to winco, but if you dont mind about other brands and get them in lower prices, then it'll be ok. i bought some milk chocolate hazelnut bars right by the entrance, and its sooooo good! i like the quarter cart concept, that way you dont have to find any carts lying around in the parking lot. i guess people do care about getting their quarter back :P it was kinda hard finding the staff around the isles, i had to ask them for help by the cashier. but overall, i think this will be one of my go-to shopping list for produce and other stuff. ________________ EDIT: i came back the next day, and i had to return 5 boxes of oatmeal, and replace 2 big cans of oatmeal, i lost the receipt but i scanned them on my phone yesterday, i was worried they might ask about the actual receipt but they didnt even look at it, they just asked for my phone # and had me sign a different receipt and gave me a cash back, very cool. read more

I really liked this new store. They have reasonable prices and friendly cashiers. The food is mostly non brand but they are good quality. It is clean, well lit and has enough space in aisle. But, you have to pay for any type of bags to put groceries in and you need to use a quarter to use baskets. But, you do get quarter back as long as you bring basket back to storage area. read more
