The first thing my husband did was ask about the peaches. Of course that's the reason he went there. My search was for the peach preserves like my great grandmother made. I didn't stop there, I saw many condiments, salad dressings, old fashion candies. They also have a dessert eatery inside. Customer service was very insightful. Because we didn't go for the activities or petting of the animals, I can't write much about that. Overall, on my next visit I will try the famous MiMi's pound cake which they rave about. Also, I want the blueberry donuts which they only have on the weekends. Doggonit, I went to early in the middle of the week. My husband is really enjoying his peaches. A fun fall date!…read more Southern Belle Farm, located in McDonough, provides hours of wholesome fun and free parking. My wife and I arrived on a warm October day to enjoy the pumpkin patch and U-pick flowers. We arrived in the afternoon, but there was plenty of selection and nothing was "picked over." I paid $16 for a quart sized plastic vase for my U-pick flowers. They sell gallon sized buckets as well. Scissors and water are provided. Be mindful of bees in the field. They won't trouble you if you don't trouble them. There is an area in the back for you to arrange the flowers; I took full advantage of this because this trip doubled as a photo shoot. There were all types of people enjoying the farm; IG girls, families, even one couple using a wagon full of pumpkins as a baby announcement. Pumpkins range from $5-$20 each depending on size and breed. A nice young man named Luke helped us corral our pumpkins and carry them to our car. I didn't know they offered that service, but we tipped well. If you run up an appetite, they have a snack bar with fritters, ice cream, and lemonade. I'll be back next fall!

Wear boots or shoes you don't mind getting dirty because there is no floor. Just dirt It made the experience feel like a real farmers market. There was so many options for fresh fruits, vegetables, produce, nuts and more! They make their own salsa and boiled peanuts They do have pink pineapples in the fridge along with exotic fruits like star fruit, rambutan, pink and yellow dragon fruits. I believe plantains as well. The owner or cashier told me they source locally for all their items and support the community. She even share they sell locally made doggie treats by the young ladies in the photo beneath it. This was such a gem and treat. I spent about $40 and got a variety of items. You'll be blessed to get some fresh items. Enjoy!!! Don't be scared! It's so worth it!

Blueberries are also in season, but I stuck with peaches when I was there. You can buy a basket already picked at the roadside stand, or borrow a 5 or 10 gallon bucket and pick your own. (Staff will put them in a box for you to take home.) Easy to get to off of I-75/exit 212. Bring water to drink. There is a bathroom available at the stand.

They also offered fresh meats raised without pesticides, along with delicious canned jellies , local honey , and huge watermelons that reminded me of the ones I remember from childhood. A really good healthy summer treat! Note: veggies such as cabbage, greens and tomatoes , peaches pears , watermelon and fresh flowers , eggs , beef and honey are harvest on site . But specialty items , such as ; soaps , sea moss and jams come from regional makers ... just to name a few things. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. One team member even took a moment to thank everyone out loud for supporting local farmers, creating a warm sense of community and appreciation. That made me so happy! It's something that's been lost in this world - appreciation. Handicap parking is located right outside the main entrance, in front of the tent . Make note ; overall parking is very limited . I definitely chose the right time to go. And the lot of gravel , so I recommend wearing comfortable shoes ( especially the ladies ) since the ground is uneven . You will not like wearing heels . This is some sort of cottage industry producer of artisan crafted stuff like you'd see on the menu at Husk in Charleston, SC, infused oils and vinegars, hand-crafted sauces, jams and jellies, smoked spices and all other sort of goodies. I have tried their jams (Peach Brandy Jam, I used to top baked Mission Figs), their Espresso Infused Balsamic which I used to make a reduction sauce for filet mignon, and their watermelon jelly is fine, too. They have a Tomato Basil Sauce that I have but have not tried yet and will let you know how it goes. Folks, it's hard to find the weird stuff some of us foodies like to cook with but this Mullen Farms lady has it going on if you want something out of the box. Highly recommend.
