The Aldi in Okolona is one of those places you run into for milk and eggs and somehow come out with an armful of unexpected deals. It's tucked into the Outer Loop shopping area, and while it's not fancy, it's clean, bright, and surprisingly roomy inside. Right away, the carts are neatly stacked (just don't forget your quarter), and the layout makes sense--produce on the left, snacks and frozen down the middle, and the fun seasonal aisle that somehow always lures me in. The meat section was better than I expected, and I grabbed a pack of steaks that ended up being way better than the price suggested. Checkout moves fast, even with just one or two lanes open. You bag your own groceries at the big counter by the exit, but that's part of the Aldi rhythm. It's not glamorous, but it's efficient, and the savings feel real. If you're in Okolona and trying to stretch your grocery budget without sacrificing quality, this Aldi hits the mark. read more

Neighborhood store. We have visited the same store just a different location just a handful of times. We didn't find that much for us. Once we started doing the cash envelope budgeting we heard more and more about aldi. Deciding it was finally time I stopped in one afternoon. Wow completely blown away. Night and day difference between locations. The store is Bright, and clean. The employees never stopped busting it. Blew the budget in one trip. But it was so worth it. Ending up spending 131 and then brought my husband back the next day to spend another 58. Taco pizza and chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches .... heavenly! We will def be returning! read more

Recently opened,(grand opening this week) is this slightly larger aldi. Located next to Jefferson mall, the location is easily accessible. Upon entering, I noticed the aisles were slightly bigger than other area aldis. (which was nice) The store was very clean and well organized, and the employees were very nice and seemed happy to be there. My cashier Brittany was extremely nice and helpful. Carts are placed in two areas. One in the parking lot, and one by the front entrance. This is definitely going to be my aldi of choice. read more

This is an all new Aldi's store that just opened about a month ago. Really nice inside, roomy and well laid out. I actually stopped in to purchase an office chair...... Yes, this is a grocery store but Aldi's always has a small section of "non grocery" items. In their ad I noticed this office chair so that's how I knew they had it. These 'non grocery" items are only around for a week as new items follow the following week. Since it was my first time in this store I spent some time walking around and checking it out. read more

For starters, Aldi is awesome! I'm so lucky that they opened a new location close to my new residence, and this location is even better than my last one. Since it's newer, the layout is bigger and seems to have more items. The variety is probably the same, but the aisles do feel wider, and the store has excellent cleanliness. The fruit and vegetable section has large variety of salad types, such as iceberg, romaine, kale, spinach, and mixed packages. The other vegetables, such as onions, zucchini, tomatoes, etc., are well packaged with excellent pricing. You can really eat healthy without breaking the bank. On top of that, they offer quite a few organic items throughout the store for fair prices. The only gripe I would have is that they don't offer enough single items, but this location ac sully starting selling a few fruits by the pound so that you can get a few versus a whole bag. Overall, this is my favorite Aldi location to shop. read more

I love Aldi. I love the deals. The variety. The seasonal items. The fact that they have a vegetarian line of food. When I get stuck on dinner , I go to Aldi to get some new ideas. I can usually cut my grocery bill in half which is awesome. But. I cannot stand how they handle the check out line. I get they probably have a protocol on how they are to run their lines. But when I have 3 small screaming children all buckled in. Why would it make any sense to start loading a different basket and then tell me they need my basket, THAT MY 3 SCREAMING CHILDREN ARE IN!!! Assess the situation. Please. So instead of waiting for me to get everything out of my basket. You would rather me unbuckle all of my kids and take the time to move them from one basket to the other ? And then get mad when I take too long? I'd rather just go to Kroger and save myself the anger. You lost a shopper. read more

Great, fast two-bag meal tonight. Bought Aldi Thai Coconut Chicken and Aldi Kung Pao Broccoli. See photos. OK, so not gourmet, but in less than 10 mins, you have a tasty, spicy meal. While I microwaved, wife made (not from Aldi) fresh tomatoes with scallions, feta cheese, Kraft Greek Vinaigrette dressing, and Penzeys California Seasoned Pepper. Fun! read more

Brand new Aldi. I came here on opening day and was impressed with how nice and big the place is. However on my second visit the following week, I was a bit disappointed in the produce. Most of it was going bad. They did have discounted prices on quite a bit but the items would need to be used right away and I was shopping for the week. The sale prices were great though. I just needed items that would last me longer. Still I will shop here. Give them a chance to get used to the flow of product. I have shopped Aldi for almost 30 years. The brand new Aldi Store off Outer Loop is huge, clean,and Nice. They have a variety of grocery items and merchandise items to purchase. I have always had a hard time trying to stay within my budget because they offered so many different items at a reasonable price. The employees are always friendly and accommodating when asking for Assistance. I am given Aldi 5 stars for being one of the best store to shop. read more

I'm really disappointed on this first visit of this new South end location. I use to visit the Aldi off Bardstown Rd. I visited them not for their food, but for their other merchandise. They would sometimes carry some international merchandise, as seen on tv items, kitchen gadgets, and other items. So when I heard the social media posting of organic products and they were opening a location in the south end of town, I got a little excited. First, people's Facebook posting stating Aldi is going all organic at extremely reduced pricing, is not 100% true. The truth is they are now offering a variety/more of organic produce/foods. For that, thank you Aldi. I enjoy seeing stores with reduced priced organic options. During my visit I didn't notice extreme price reduction in the organics, but I guess that depends on a person's interpretation of extreme price reduction. I only saw reductions of 50 cents to $1.50 with limited organics. There were a few items that offered bigger reduction, but many of those items were bulk packaged and doesn't allow you to individually pick out your produce. This is where I feel the 50 cents to $1.50 organics discount is not a huge deal with price reduction at this store. It's because the organic options for the produce area is very limited and small. You might find a few items on your organic produce grocery list, but will probably have to make a second trip to another store to find the rest. That waste in gas money is not worth the discount on a few organic produce choices. If you are going into the store to purchase other items, then yes it is worth it. I will definitely pass by for their cheap avacados, if I'm up the street at Chick-Fila or next door at Liquor store buying wine. Krogers sells their small avacados cheap, but overprices their large ones. Aldi had the small and large ones mixed together for a cheap price. Aldi also is known for their off brand names of food products, that still taste and look like the known popular brand names. Such as cereals, crackers, cookies, snacks, etc. The good thing is they offer those products for almost half the price. So I decided to go around to look at those items. Once again I was disappointed. Many of these boxed products were damaged causing products to have openings. At first it looked like some kids got a hold of it, but then you can tell the boxes were crushed by maybe transport or by stacking. It was so noticeable, I knew employees had to notice. I couldn't believe they were still trying to sell these opened and damaged boxes. The items inside I think would of been crushed or not fresh from the openings. That makes me a little worried about trusting their boxed food items, if they would still try to sale that to customers. Their nuts are ok priced, but if you have a Costco card definitely get your bulk nuts their for a great savings. I didn't visit this store's frozen area, so can't really say much about it. With all the good reviews from other visitors, I'm thinking it was just an off day for this location when I went. Giving a low rating review sucks and honestly is a little uncomfortable, but that was my honest experience. If I visit this store again to grab some avacados, I will hopefully have a better experience and update my review. read more

I've heard of Aldi, but I have never been there myself. Until today, I seen an ad in the paper for a 7pc bedding set for $39.99. I was thrown of because I always thought Aldi was just a grocery store. I tried calling before driving out there to make sure the ad was correct, but an answering service stated that Aldi doesn't have store numbers to call and that's one of the ways that they are able to stay sufficient and keep the price low for customers. At first I was like, what the #&!^!, no phone? I have never heard of a business not having a phone. I ended up driving over there and my $39.99 ended up being $90 when I walked out the door. I grabbed a bed zone topper, sheet set and a bed set with decorative pillows. It was exactly what I needed for what I think was a reasonable price. I came out of that store grinning from ear to ear. The store seemed small but it was very organized and clean and the Isles have enough separation to where you have ample space to walk without feeling like everyone is on top of each other. I wish I would of walked around to the grocery isle to compare prices but I was so focused on getting my bedding set that it slipped my mind. read more

I didn't have the quarter for a cart. I was hobbling in an isle carrying groceries while using a walking cane. A clerk saw that I was struggling and got a cart for me. I am so thankful to this person because I truly was having a very hard time with pain, a limp and trying to carry grocery items. Regretfully, I didn't get her name to offer recognition to her boss. read more

Don't buy produce here at aldi's. Bought a 2 pound bag of peaches. Upon getting home and cutting them up OVER HALF OF THEM WERE ROTTEN. They may have been "on sale" but that does no good if you can't eat them. read more
