The produce selection is unparalleled to any place in the area. We bought bags and bags of produce and made a caprese salad with orange and red tomatoes and basil from the farm. We grilled the veggies and had blueberry shortcake for dessert. They have shortcake and pie crusts next to the fruit - so smart!! Additionally they have homemade pretzels, pasta, pie crust, shortcake, dishcloths, pot holders, candles etc. They also sell plants - ferns, flowers, succulents etc. In the fall they will sell pumpkins and many varieties of apples. Everyone that works there is so kind and helpful. The prices are fantastic. Great selection, superb service and a fun place to visit. It's beautiful and quiet. We followed a couple signs and a hunch to take us to Sycamoe Spring Orchard, but it had been closed for almost an hour by 6PM-- but alas! The kind business owner cracked the door and asked if we could come back the next day (we couldn't, had to travel on), so he opened the doors for us and turned on the lights. While we were visiting in mid-July, the store featured locally grown fruit (peaches, apricots, plums, blueberries, cherries) and vegetables (green beans, corn). There were also jams, apple butter, marinades and salsas that the store owner told us him, his sister-in-law, and his sister made and sold. There were also homemade pies that his sister-in-law had baked from the fresh fruit. In fact, he gave us a small (individual serving) peach pie from the first peaches of the season as a thank-you for stopping in and taking so much interest in his store.
