This has become one of my regular weekly shopping areas because of the price and quality of food. Main reason the "quality" is better is due to it being a German company where European countries have a more stringent regulation on what can be inside products. So, you can definitely find organics, a surprising selection for the small grocery store at good prices. The biggest challenge is whether it will be there when you shop. I have been trying to time the most ideal day and time to shop. Organic strawberries tend to be picked through and you have to watch out about them (and other perishables) being already overriped. Best place to go to for avocados and pineapples and dates. If you have an autoimmune disease and want to avoid bankruptcy from shopping at the other store off Woodruff Road (though to be fair, I haven't been by it for awhile), shop at Aldi's since you can also get grass fed ground beef for $3.99/lb and they are in one pound package!! They also have refrigerated coconut milk (hubby) and all the cow kind, organic, etc. Our main list includes the hummus, eggs, coconut milk, pineapple, plantains, dates, avocados, organic kale, onions, garlic. Sometimes I get their GF Crackers, pretzels and mixes (brownie/lava cake is awesome). If I don't buy fresh wild caught salmon elsewhere, I get their frozen one so we get more omega-3! When it's cycling season, I buy a bunch of coconut water. When hubby out of town or the kids and I want normal food, I definitely get the trail mixes, croissants, and yes ice cream! The other week, I bought a bunch of their seasonal German cookies to try as our eldest daughter was in Germany visiting her German boyfriend's parent and did a video on trying German snack foods. We made a spoof and sent it to her for Thanksgiving as it's great they carry them here. Very thankful Aldi is here locally. Just be sure to have a quarter with you as that's the only way to get a shopping cart. You get it back when you return it. That's how they keep overhead down. Same as bags. You better bring your own, or else find the empty box cartons to carry your goods. I love this mindset and is the norm in most of Europe. Had I not shopped at Aldi before, my husband would still be trying to pull the shopping cart out from the other one without realizing how to get them disconnected from each other. Only downside to this place is, it's puny space. They renovated it last year which really didn't actually expand the footprint size. Lines are still long so don't ever think you can jump in and out in a jiffy. And though it's renovated, it still seems to have a crowded dirty feel, in comparison to other grocery stores in the area. However, I'm not planning on eating or hanging out there. And since it's on the busy Woodruff Road, I'm glad there's a way to go through the back road and get to traffic lights. High marks for products - price, types. Marked down some due to long lines, that clutter feeling and some perishable products being already spoiled but that's to be expected with organic products without the chemicals to keep the outside looking good but is bad for our insides. read more

I hadn't been to an Aldi since I left my home state so its been months. This was a vibrant Aldi. They had plenty of produce from butternut squash to an abundance of fresh avocados. By plenty I mean you can find most of what you are looking for. If you need a bigger variety than I'm sure your regular grocery store would be a better option. Fruit options were scarce so I'm thinking its whatever is in season is what will be here. They have a frozen food selection, some household items , dried fruit, frozen fruit, organic quinoa and plenty more. To be clear I didnt walk down every aisle because I was specifically targeting produce and to see if they had agave syrup and I'm happy to say they have lots of agave syrup in stock in case you were wondering. I didn't find it in the last store I visited. They do have milk and certain meats. I would be more specific but I only glanced in those areas. I have tunnel vision when I shop. I usually just know what I'm there for. Sorry I'm not more helpful in that arena. I even made a new contact in the produce aisle. She's a health coach so we were conversing about different foods and about sleep patterns and prob getting into peoples way as we carried the conversation on but thats a testament to say that the aisles here are wide 'enough' since we didnt get any angry glares. Some Aldi's aisles aren't quite as roomy. This was a Tuesday morning and already there were quite a bit of people shopping down every aisle, I could not imagine navigating through here very easily on a weekend or a weekday after 5p. Don't forget to bring your quarter so you can get a shopping cart. You get your quarter back after you put the cart back. I like this idea because it keeps the carts from being all over the parking lot and it presents a clean appearance. Also, if you don't have your own shopping bags to bag your groceries at the end, they have the big decorative plastic ones for less than a dollar, they have the more sturdy ones for a little more than a dollar and they have paper bags for 6 cents. I walked out with four bag fulls of produce, quinoa, pasta and a few additional items and seasonings for a little less than $60 if that helps you compare your savings. read more

The bathroom at Aldi on woodruff rd , Greenville smell really bad from the outside. I didn't want to go inside the bathroom because the outside smells so bad. Someone need to clean it thoroughly with Clorox or something stronger. read more

Aldi always has a fresh stock of vegetables and fruits. Like the simplicity they have here. Also they are quite apt in returns if you have issues with any product. read more

Sometimes the store is a mess and there's hardly any space to comfortably shop, but you really do find some great deals and have to realize everything is the way it is to provide shoppers with low prices. ALDI - First time in since the renovation! - Grocery Near Me - Greenville, South Carolina

IF you are thinking this store is somehow inferior to Publix or Bilo, think again. You are missing not only a great value but some great food and ingredients, not to mention the best chocolate in town. It is the sister company to Trader Joe's, owned by members of the same family and often the very same items are sold in both locations. For example the "stoplight" bell peppers (red, yellow, green) three pack is the same, but only $2.49 at Aldi, abpout $3.79 at Trader Joes. Milk is $1.25 per gallon compared to $3.25 per gallon at Publix. My family goes through 3-4 gallons of milk per week. I like for my milk price to be cheaper than my gasoline price. The produce is fresh, but not as extensive of a variety as a higher end store like Whole Foods or the Fresh Market. The cheese selection is prepackaged but an excellent variety of options. On a whim, we tried the frozen mushroom flat bread pizza and it was really out of this world good, and I don't like frozen pizza, but this was different. It amazes me the amount of items we can buy that are outstanding quality and for a very good price. The downside is that there are only a few employees to keep costs down, you have the whole quarter thing to keep the carts all put away (its like a deposit system), and the lines can be long at times. Bring your own bags or be prepared to buy a bag or two for 10 cents each. We have been shopping here for certain items for a few months and can really see a positive difference in our budget with no quality of food decline, maybe even upgraded in some areas. read more

I really like Aldi's. I love their dairy products. They store brands that are nust as good the national brands. Meats are not big on selection., Is one drawback, then again they don't have meat cutting dept. I do miss them not having the Fago soda, I fell in live with the diet cola. Aldi offers the highest-quality organic groceries you love, minus the typical retail markup you'll find with the competition. Selection is somewhat limited compared to traditional markets but they do have everything you need and most of what you want. And once you adapt to the quirky and quaint setup of the store the quality, value, and service will make it hard to shop anywhere else. My favorite grocery store! Best prices and high quality. Plus, you don't have to walk a country mile to get what you need. They have a great return policy with no questions asked. Checkout is efficient and the staff is friendly. I do 85 percent of my shopping here and I stop by Publix for the rest of my needs. I only wish they offered fresh herbs! read more

MUCH IMPROVED! During my last visit to this store, I couldn't even shop here because it was such a dirty, cluttered mess. As a visiting guest, I was completely offended. This trip was a totally different experience as we stopped by to pick up some specific snacks. As we drove into the parking lot, the building looked new and refreshed, (as if it had been recently painted). The parking lot was oddly full for a Monday morning and they appeared to be having a grand re-opening of some sort. Upon entering the store, my chest swelled with pride because THIS was a much better experience. I noticed that this Aldi is very different from the ones in the Atlanta area and other northern cities I have visited. This store has a more thoughtful design pattern that does not include the typical barrier set up near the door to control the flow of traffic. The entrance is very open and a nice departure from the norm. I appreciated the improved signage and the more accessible displays, (especially in the produce department). They still have a problem with parking stock on the floor and this time it consisted of large flats piled with boxes. These are large cumbersome structures that should not be on the floor unless someone is actively working on them. They simply get in the way of being able to shop more efficiently. The lines were fairly long as we prepared to check out but the registers were well staffed. They had more cashiers at work, (5), than I have seen anytime, anywhere. They were very experienced and kept things moving. Hopefully, by the time of my next visit, they will have figured out how to get the stocking done in such a way that it does not inconvenience guests or leave large barriers throughout the store. ***Aldi is owned by the same German company that owns Trader's Joe. ***They are different and it will take some time to get accustomed. I walked in and out several times before I finally made a purchase and now I am hooked. *** They are slowing increasing their organic options and the prices are great. ***I love looking forward to their seasonal items, (gourmet cheese and cookie dough, flavored coffees, organic Kerry Gold butter, delicious apple cider and more). ***Check in weekly because they have a lot of promotional items (food and non-food, that are really nice but tend to sell out quickly. ***You can take your own grocery bags or purchase theirs for a nominal charge of no more than ten cents per bag. read more

The European style supermarket is pretty good when you want to stretch your dollars but don't go in a hurry when it's normal shopping time because the lines are crazy long. You also have to bring your own bag to cart your groceries off and pay a quarter to use a shopping cart unless you snag one from somebody when they're returning it. This is the first ALDI I have been to. I was immediately shocked at the low prices and pretty good quality of produce plus the store brand is very comparable to name brands I've used in the past. Especially notable is the pet food prices - compare their store brand dog food similar to Cesar (my dog only eats Cesar, but will eat this one too at half the price.) Cat food is palatable for my cats, unless they run out of it, (which they do.) Milk sometimes does not stay fresh as long as from other stores (maybe a refrigeration issue?) You have to bring or buy your own bags, and bag groceries yourself, but to save so much money it may be worth it if you're willing to put forth the effort. I arrived when the store opened to purchase the ground beef and ground turkey from the new sales ad. I could not find the items or where the items should be either. Employees were stocking multiple aisles right at opening, which blocked access to numerous products. The store is very poorly organized. Also, the cashier was super rude-- throwing items on my bread and fruit -- no greeting, total, just a "you have to swipe it," and she moved on to the next customer. Ah, it is so nice to live close to a clean Aldi's again (the ones I lived near in Charlotte were disgusting). In general, I am a huge fan of their prices and decent selection of fresh produce. They are really stepping up their game as well with offering more preservative-free and healthy products. Their milk is now hormone-free, and they carry a Simply Nature product line (granola bars, snacks, and bacon were things I noticed, but I'm sure they have more). I also noticed they have started carrying more gourmet cheeses, like fresh mozzarella, goat cheese, and feta. For produce, they mostly have traditional fruits and veggies, but for a very good price. You can get big ol' cucumbers for $.49, packs of zucchini and squash for $1.49 (looks like close to 2 lbs in each pack), and cantaloupe for $1.49. Mostly their products are their own store brand (like Trader Joes), but they have sections where you can find special buys on name-brand products (this selection rotates) and "special buys" (which are mostly in the the frozen section, but they often have seafood, desserts, or gourmet ready-made products like lasagna or stuffed chicken). Just remember to bring your own bags (or expect to pay for them), a debit card or cash (their only methods of payment), and a quarter for the cart deposit. read more

There are some great deals to be found here. Fruit and veggies are great and cheaper than most places. Cookies and crackers are top quality at a fraction of the cost. Milk is less expensive than Wal-Mart. They have their brand of raisin bread that is as good as name brands. I haven't as of yet purchased meat here, but my daughter does 90% of her shopping here and swears by it. Yes, you must bring your own bags, or purchase theirs. And they require a quarter deposit for a cart. But overall, I think it's a great place to shop. read more

Weird experience. Lot's of random grocery items, I felt like I was walking through a bookstore crammed with all sorts of items, sort of organized in a way a sloppy person would organize. It was filled with people who blocked the small aisles and didn't care that you wanted to get by. So much for Southern Hospitality... Keep in mild there are no hand baskets and you need to bring your own grocery bags. I will probably refrain from going back. read more

Normally we love Aldi. Good deals, nice items. Today was not a good experience. The employees are rude as can be. We finished shopping and we're ready to check out. This one lane had only one person it in, the "open" sign was out, and the light was on. We unpack half of our cart onto the belt and the cashier tells us her lane is closed and we need to go to a different one. So we pack up all of our items and move to a different register. Well she said her lane was closed and made us pack up all of our things and move, but her lane never closed. More people went to her lane and she checked all of them out no problem while we waited in a different line. She was very rude in telling us to pack up our items and that was was closed when she was clearly still open. read more

I love Aldi!! They have the best deals and friendly cashiers. Only part I dislike is the zoo like people that run through there! :P
