Produce shop today was excellent and I found everything I needed including fresh cilantro and avocados that are just about soft enough for breakfast tomorrow. Great stuff in the cold bunkers. It is a very new establishment with fair prices on many of the items we saw. Others may be questionably priced, but this makes sense in today's economy. The store is very clean and organized. The lighting is good and doesn't feel outdated at all. It isn't a big supermarket, but for the area, it is pretty good. As we were checking out, we asked about the loyalty points program because the owner mentioned it, and we definitely wanted to sign up. However, the information is collected on paper, and you do not receive loyalty points even when signing up and making a purchase at the same time. I asked for the manager, whose name is Miguel, and when I mentioned whether we could save our receipt for getting the points in the future, he stated no, it cannot be done and proceeded to say, "It is what it is," which I found to be a bit rude. He is part of the customer service desk and maybe needs some lessons in customer service; that statement was unprofessional. The young lady was sweet but a bit shy. My elderly mother asked a takeout restaurant if they accepted SNAP benefits; however, they do not yet participate in that program. That's a bit of a letdown. It has the potential to be pretty good as a local supermarket, especially if you are looking for certain Latin-inspired foods. But the manager's rudeness was unexpected.

On May 18, because that cake flavor wasn't popular or desirable, a call was made to the bakery to change the flavor. The order edit was confirmed. On May 31, the cake was picked up at 11:20 AM and arrived to the venue. While the cake was pretty, and a personal topper was added to make it even prettier, regretfully it was not the flavor that we ordered. Contrary to the "baker's" confirmation, the edit/change was not made. This was not observed until the cake was cut. While the other desserts, from other companies were demolished, 3/4 of this Harris Teeter 2 tier chocolate something flavor cake was untouched. What a waste of money! Of course there was nothing to do at that point. We called 2 weeks later and was put on hold for 13minutes after sharing our concern then eventually disconnected. Since a contact name (Diana) and number was left with the order we were hoping that at the very least someone would call back. Nothing! What a disappointing low-grade experience.

Hello. I'd like to report a rude employee. I unfortunately did not catch her name. Union road in…read moregastonia NC location. I know that she's a heavy set woman maybe in her 50s or 60s that works in the deli as she was wearing a hair net. I unfortunately am not driving at the moment.. and I work next door at a restaurant. I have something else I do in the mornings and my father drops me off there.. and then I take gogastonia to Food Lion plaza and have an hour and a half to wait to start working every morning. Since I'm rushed in the morning and have such a long wait to work, I tend to put m eye make up on in the Food Lion bathroom. Never before did ANY of the other employees have anything rude to say. Well this morning really upset me A LOT. She came I to the bathroom and proceeded to LAUGH at me and commented saying "You are too much." I commented back explaining my situation a bit and she laughed again and had the nerve to say something about me running late? I said I am SUPER early to my job and again she laughed and said something under her breathe that was obviously extremely rude. I want this woman reported. I'm a hard working woman doing what I have to do to survive and it really bothers me that someone wants to come, put me down and laugh at me. I thought being respectful to customers was a priority! Guess I was wrong! Shame on you Food Lion! If nothing is done over this I WILL go higher and leave reviews. I want an update please and thank you. And when I am done with work later and hopefully have the time before I get picked up, I am going to talk to whatever manager is on duty here. I really hope by then, this has already been addressed.
