Wouldn't even allow him to explain. My husband is a good man and said "no hurry" because the gentleman was taking time getting up. He thought perhaps he was feeling poor and if he took it wrong way at least let someone explain instead of turning them away and refusing to do business. This is what's wrong with folks, jump to conclusions. My husband just wanted to get tomatoes for a sandwich but will drive other way in future. NOT nice This won't hurt overall business but we are praying for this man to not jump to conclusions and drive other business away.

They have different types of produce and canned foods. I went in hoping to find some cooked food like a little taqueria or carneceria but it doesn't. They do have a lot of baked goods. As a caucasian looking person, I always get looks from the business owners and patrons and I can imagine that they are thinking that I'm in the wrong place. Nope, I love these little markets. Great produce and if they do prepared foods, it's usually so great! This one is good for the neighborhood patrons to get their foods from their country. It also looks like people go there to talk and catch up.

When they cut the fruit in front of you, you know it's going to be fresh and delicious. The fruit was sweet, and had just a small hint of spice from the seasoning on it. They stopped selling fresh fruits out front from what I saw, but they do have a lot of candy and Hispanic treats in the front, and a decent size menu to choose from. The only thing I didn't like was the baked goods. I purchased a sourdough. It had caraway which is similar to rye and I do not like rye. I did however like the croissants I purchased but on the flip side the five cookies were meh. So more was bad than good. The other vendors I purchased from were wonderful. Eggs, bone-in pork chops, ground beef , dog treats (chicken claws) three types of greens, arugula, Bibb and romaine, and a frozen chicken were some of the things I purchased. I did notice only one vendor had fruit, strawberries, which sold out quickly. The next time I go I hope there is more to choose from. I will definitely return.

I just noticed the handwritten sign saying "mercado". I decided to drop in and check it out. The space is big and it looks like they are still in the processing of opening/setting up. There are lots of different latin products in there and a huge selection of kitchen stuff - huge pots, pans, etc. Everything you need to get started making a delicious latin meal. The produce - oh my goodness - I've never seen such an array of produce. All looking so fresh and so good. There were lots of stuff I didn't even recognize. They have a refrigerated area with cheeses, tortillas, pre-made items, etc. It also looks like they are putting in a big meat counter and maybe even some in-house prepared foods. I picked up a giant Asian pear and some tortillas (they only have one brand though - hope that changes) and headed towards the register. There they had a bin of fresh made chicken tamales for $1.50 each. I grabbed a couple and had that for dinner. Very good. These are more like central american tamales wrapped in banana leaves. The masa was very moist and thick. The chicken had a great flavor with a bit of spice. I can't wait until they fully open and have the meat counter and prepared food area open. Keep your eye on this place.
