This Aldi location never has all the cool LiveGFree products that I see other people snag at their local Aldi. I've never once been able to snag the LiveGFree cheesecake sampler or even the frozen chicken bites here. Today I went and they didn't even have the LiveGFree mac & cheese. I live in Las Vegas, Nevada and we don't have Aldi, so I make a point to visit when I'm in Texas. I prefer other locations because for whatever reason, they just don't carry many gluten-free items at this particular branch. They also only had 1 cashier until the line was going through the aisles and then they added 1 more when there are 4 checkstands. Love the Frisco Aldi's location! This one seems a bit bigger than the other locations and organized very well. Went on a Saturday afternoon and everything was in stock, and didn't run into any messes like I do sometimes at other locations. They also are stocked a bit better for seasonal items which I appreciate a lot. Staff was also quick, efficient, and nice. read more

I really love this Aldi, so I shop here a couple of times every week. The Preston Road location is very convenient for me, and it's easy to get in and out of. The store is always clean, and the staff has always been friendly and helpful. They offer a lot of grocery and produce options to choose from, and the shelves are always very well stocked. In the past, I did purchase expired Almond-milk. I was in a hurry and didn't check the expiration date while in the store. When I realized it was expired, I took it right back to the store to exchange it. The staff was understanding about it, apologized, and kindly offered me a no hassle exchange. This is definitely a benefit for me, because I know they will always make it right without making me feel bad. I highly recommend this Aldi Location. read more

Aldi is cheap because they dont put any of their produce in refridgerated areas cutting down on costs and electricity so don't be surprised if you find spoiled food and possibly pests in it. Their bagged bread is smaller than other supermarkets and their milk tastes more like watered milk than other supermarkets. They also dont have bags and you must put in a quarter for your cart. Prepare to wait a long time for checkout as on one Saturday afternoon they only had one cashier with about 50 people inside. And there is no self serve checkout at all. Ads circulate every Wednesday so perhaps if I visit when they stock Wednesday morning the produce would be the freshest. I will update this review once I have checked that out. read more

Aldi is a grocery store that stems from Germany. It offers a limited selection of grocery staples for very cheap prices. However, it usually carries only one brand (often house brand) of the item. We've tried a lot of their house brand items and they're usually as good and sometimes better than the brand item. So, if you like cheap groceries and are not bent on getting a specific brand, this is a great store to shop. To save money, they do not provide free plastic bags, so bring your own cloth bags. Also, bring a quarter as deposit for the shopping cart. It might seem weird at first, but it results in no carts all over the parking lot as with other stores and cuts further in cost. And, only cash and debit is accepted. As examples for their prices, milk is currently $0.99 and eggs $0.49 and they're good! Oh, and this store does sell beer and wine. read more

So I decided to balance the checkbook today and was completely mortified at the fact that our grocery bills account for more than the payment of a lightly used, newer model Lamborghini--literally. (Compliments of Tom Thumb, Kroger, and the likes) Yet rest assured, I do not have a Lambo. In fact, my recent dreams of waking up in a new Bugatti next to my side-kick, Ace Hood didn't quite materialize. Instead, I woke up in a used Ford with my miniature Schnauzer, Annie in the seat next to me. No sour grapes here. If there were any, Annie would have eaten them anyway. Needless to say, I was/am hell-bent on changing the course of this absurdity, and I began by systematically firing our grocery stores. Like most other Frisco/Plano folks, I found myself at a cross-roads...being naturally reluctant to try something less glamorous and sexy than the local grotesquely overpriced institutions of wastefulness. Heaven forbid, my country-club friends see me bargain-shopping. What would they say!?!?! My social status would flip me from a Frisco-ite...to like...an East Texas-ite. Life as we know it would end. Value-shopping in Plano/Frisco is second only in social taboos to clipping coupons. The former will result in being shunned--the latter ends in excommunication. Besides, spending more money on the same crap is socially encouraged. You know you've made it in Collin County when you whip out 8 bucks for a Dr. Pepper that is packaged as some "fizzy beverage thing" and given an Italian-sounding name at the local Starbucks. Oh yeah, and it's a little more for a Venti (wussup?) So... I put on a disguise and hurried over to Aldi. I park my car in the back so none of the neighbors see me, and I begin discreetly creeping towards the shopping carts between passersby--sort of like a fellow with a furious case of diarrhea that is forced to take a mid-dump courtesy time-out as two guys hover over the urinals right outside of the door. Finally--a lucky break. I make it to the shopping carts--only to find them bike locked together. What sort of sorcery is this?! They want 25 cents for me to use a shopping cart to ensure that I bring it back?! How dare they. Besides, I'm too good to carry around metal currency--do they not know who I am?! Fast forward 2m, and I'm in the store--avoiding eye contact with everyone. I feel like the preacher's insecure son at a cheap porno store as the heat of embarrassment radiates off of my cheeks. I begin to feel dirty. Needless to say, I zip through the store as fast as I can, dumping in a ton of stuff into the shopping cart--to the point that it's full to the brim. A cart like this would be no less than $300 at the traditional grocery stores. I load up exotic items like gyro sandwiches, sweet potato chips, detergents, and finish the run with a pumpkin--because, one simply not have enough...pumpkins. As the clerk finishes up scanning, I'm confident that my bill will be no less than a couple of hundred bucks. I quickly find that I was mistaken. The final bill... $53. As I return my cart to collect my quarter, a woman approaches me and asks if she may have my cart. Of course she could. As I walk away--she hands me another quarter, which I reluctantly accepted. On the drive home, I quickly realize that I have been robbed every month...for the past 10 years. Needless to say and joking aside...Aldi is simply awesome. It's like the IKEA of grocery stores... and that is not a bad thing unless you enjoy throwing away money. read more

One star only for the fact that Aldi prices are lower than other places. I have been going to Aldi for about five years in different states but I have never been greeted at this one. This is for last eighteen months or so and maybe once an associate (on loan from different location) greeted me and asked how I was. Absolutely pathetic customer service skills. About two months ago, I walked up to the counter and there was an elderly couple. The wife realized that the cereal box they picked up damaged and she mentioned it to one of the lady working away from the cash register. The employee said "is it?" And didn't even feel like offering to go all the way to the back of the store to get a different box. Instead she said "I guess you can change it" and gentleman in front off who had the same box simply traded. This is unacceptable customer service skills. Forget that, basic social skills. The management team running this location needs to be fired. read more

This place is good for people on a budget and the selection is great. However, the staff, or at least the woman I encountered, ruined the experience for me. I place my items on the belt and she rang them and placed them right in front of her and proceeded to stare at me as if I wasn't doing something. As someone who has never been to Aldi, I didn't know there was a different process to bagging. She then looked at me in the rudest way and asked "are you waiting on something?" while all my items sat directly in front of her like I'm just supposed to reach across her and grab them all. The produce at this location is horrid! Most of it is old and rotting right in the shelves! The location in Little Elm is slightly better but not great either. Only one cashier and multiple people in line is unacceptable. I love the lower prices on the produce but it's not safe to eat. I'd rather pay more at sprouts and feel safer about eating it. Aldi needs to have better standards because clearly they don't care about their customers! read more

Clean location, but I looked like an idiot when one of the items I took to the register was twice what I expected it to be. Great place to get affordable, healthy snacks! Cash or debit only. Bring your own bags and a quarter for the shopping cart (if you need one). Most of the brands Aldi carries is not from the U.S. Because they are a German brand store, I suspect most of their items are shipped from overseas. Not to worry because most of the items they carry are pretty decent. Besides Sprouts, Aldi's has some of the best prices for groceries, but they also carry some household items so it is a bit more convenient. Produce is not as fresh as Sprouts, but they do offer substantial savings in comparison to other grocery stores. Parking lot always seems kind of empty and there is generally not a lot of people shopping here. Make sure you don't forget your reusable grocery bags. If you happen to do so, they sell plastic bags for 6 cents each. That's just their way of passing the savings on to you (according to them, at least). read more

Huge fan! I can usually get everything but a few knick knacks from here. Always do a big shop here for hardly any price.

I hate paying full price for groceries especially when I know I can get them for cheaper price. In USA, there is this facade of paying overpriced goods to look good just because your paycheck can afford you to do so but it's really stupid to pay more for basic essentials like fresh food. This store's prices for some vegetables I.e portobello mushrooms is more expensive than a 99 cent store but generally, most of the basic essentials I.e meat, eggs, milk are cheaper than the larger supermarkets. The frozen seafood was decent ( jumbo shrimp) They don't have a lot of variety of processed foods but I don't mind because I don't eat much processed foods. They have reasonable price point for wines too but the shelves were close to empty on my visit. You have to bag the groceries yourself, and bring a quarter for the cart but so what? For these prices, I can do some exercise! It's really not a big deal to bag groceries and bring back your cart. read more

I REALLY want to like the Aldi stores here in the States since I know how good they are on the other side of the pond but...NOPE! For some reason I feel like I'm back as a tourist in a cornerstore in a Eastern European country in the 90's, where and when products were spares and store shelves expensive to buy for the store owner. I'm a fan of Aldi when I need my everyday staples like milk, eggs, olive oil, veggies, fruit and chicken. The prices are the lowest out of all the grocery stores in town. One unique thing about Aldi is that you need a quarter to get a cart to go shopping which is a bit annoying. You get your quarter back when you return the cart back to the cart station. Also, they don't take credit cards, only debit cards and cash. read more

Once I knew Aldi, I became a fun, the way of not consuming plastic bag or paper bag is great impact and protection for global warming. Also, the way of the quarter input into the cart is a great way to maintenance: relocate the carts, which causes reducing the manpower. I like this system. read more

The fact that I can shop here and spend about $50 on what would cost me about $90 at any other store is incredible. They have recently been putting $10 off coupons in the add too, making the deals to good to pass up. I get all of my staples here for so much less than anywhere else. I just recently discovered Aldi. Shopping there is an interesting experience. You won't recognize hardly any of the brands. Items are stacked on the floor like in a warehouse. You have to put in a quarter to get a cart, but you do get the quarter back when you return the cart. You buy your bags (plastic or paper) and you bag your own groceries. The prices here are amazing and the products are very good. I've tried the fresh pork, spices, frozen manicotti, fruit spread. Everything was at least as good as a name brand, but usually better. They even have toys for cheap! Name brands like VTech and Graco. It's so fun shopping here b/c you never have to worry about price. It's always a good deal. And the merchandise and specials change so you never know what bargains you'll find! Awesome fun. read more

Definitely has bargains on items like snacks (chips, cookies,etc), canned goods, and on some vegetables. I've purchased meat from here but it's not the best quality. In this case you get what you paid for. But it's not bad either. I just wouldn't come here just for the meat. They also have other items like seasonal decorations, cork boards, a small stand of buckets with flower bouquets, blenders/mixers, etc. You do have to bring your own grocery bags Or grab some cardboard boxes to pack your groceries. The cashier puts your shopping cart next to her and literally puts your items directly into your shopping cart. So I guess that's how they pass the savings onto you...by saving on baggers. Not sure if it's in all locations, but this particular one requires a quarter to get a shopping cart. You insert it to the device mounted on the cart and then you get it back upon returning the cart to the shopping cart section. The cashier was friendly and initiated a conversation. The times I've gone there's only been one person / one register. I think for some items like canned stuff I'll go here. But for a one stop shop I would prefer to just go to another grocery store. read more

I enjoy going to Aldi. I first discovered them while on vacation in Germany. We popped in to buy items for a picnic lunch on the road there, so I knew of them when they came to town. Their chocolate straight from Germany is the best. I also like their fruits and berries. I once bought Ghiradelli brownie mix that was delicious. And their "special buys" on fish have been very tasty. As mentioned before their milk and egg prices are difficult to beat! read more
