Extremely poor customer service. I contacted the store about a pickup order, not realizing that pickup orders are processed through Instacart. Rather than politely explaining this, the manager was rude, aggressive, and unprofessional. I was simply seeking assistance and did not deserve to be spoken to in a rude aggressive manner. This store is not big but it is well organized. There is a wonderful selection of fresh vegetables and fruits. All appeared to be fresh. Then proceeding down the first aisle there is a wide selection of bread, followed by cookies. On the opposite side of the aisle there was a variety of chips. On the back wall is a refrigerated section with doors that contained juice, milk and the like. After the door section the refrigerated shelves continue with a vast selection of cheeses. As you round the turn on the far side wall is a refrigerated section with cold cuts, lunch meats, followed by fresh meats. The last stretch of this wall is a doored freezer section that contained meats, meals, and pizzas. Despite the fact that I was almost overwhelmed at this point I checked out all the center rows. The floor had clear markings showing the one way direction that shoppers were supposed to follow. Briefly I can tell you there were spices, oils, cake mixes,, candy for Halloween, paper products, laundry supplies, and so much more. I brought a grocery box from home that I had packed goods from Sam's in to fill with my purchases. When I approached the check out lane there was good signage that indicated to out your items on the conveyor belt. As the clerk scanned the items he repacked them in my box. Check out was a breeze and I'm sure I found some good buys plus some German goods that I would not find in my normal grocery store. I'll be back. 0n Friday, Oct. 27, our cashier was very rude. Thinking someone had left their buggy at the end of the aisle and that it was in the cashier's way, I moved it. This upset her terribly and she said she assumed everyone was stupid, that she wanted it there. She was rude and she is not a good representative of Aldi. Shame on her! This was at the Frankfort, Ky., store. Other than this experience, I've always enjoyed shopping at Aldi's. I will shop Aldi's again but hope to never encounter her. I cannot tell you how excited I am to have Aldi's in Frankfort! I ventured for the first time a couple of days ago and I was NOT disappointed. Most items here are considerably less than other local retail stores. They offer a lot of healthy and organic options. Remember to take bags to put your groceries in! They also don't bag the stuff for you, you have to bag it yourself but there's a lot of room behind the cash registers to do this. Also, the day I was shopping I didn't need a quarter for a buggy. This brand-spanking new ALDI is AMAZING! It's in a shopping center behind Chick Fil A, next to Harbor Freight and Big Lots. Our first visit was great. They had a worker out front sanitizing and handing out carts. The store is organized a little differently than I'm used to, but I like it. It flows really nicely! The workers are super friendly and quick at the checkout like every other ALDI. I also really like the bagging area... it's really big and faces the window. Of the two locations in Lexington, this is my least favorite one. I think it was recently remodeled, which is nice. But every time I come here, the shelves aren't fully stocked. So, apparently, because the shelves aren't fully stocked, the times I go shopping here are the perfect times to fill the aisles with crates & carts to stock the shelves. Add that into the large amount of people that shop here, and it's a mess. I've even had to turn around and go around an aisle because they were blocked with these crates & workers. I understand that shelves need to be stocked but there needs to be another way to do this. Otherwise, this is a typical Aldi's with good staple foods at low prices. read more

Prices are very good. Selection is pretty small but there are some great baguettes, Medjool dates, and banana nut bread. Also really low prices on nuts and seeds. I was shocked that they have no rye bread. What kind of German store has no rye bread?! The staff is very friendly. There is a bench by the exit so you can rest a moment before you walk home. I like Aldi. It's nothing fancy and it's small, but it's clean and nice. read more

Part of me doesn't want to review Aldi because I like the idea of like it being a popular spot but I also know that I count on Yelp reviews to introduce me to new places so here we are... I have been shopping at Aldi for years. They have great prices and you never know what you will find in the miscellaneous aisle. You do have to have a quarter on you if you want a cart but you'll get it back when you return it to the corral. You can also usually snag a box to carry your groceries in if you aren't getting too many items. I always buy my eggs, milk, produce, and cheese at Aldi. Their Fit n'Active brand bread and sandwich slims are also really good. Be sure to bring your own bags as they charge for bags. You'll also have to bag your own groceries. I like this as I know what's in what bag and can organize my items the way I like them to make it easier to put everything away. read more

Have to be honest, this is probably one of my favorite grocery stores ever. It's small, so it's easy to get in and out of and it's easy to learn where everything is (with some variation of course, as what's available changes from time to time). It's dirt cheap. You can find a Tombstone pizza here for $1.99 where it would cost you at least twice that at Kroger. There isn't much staff here to speak of, but the staff that they have are very pleasant and always hardworking. Honestly, I kind of prefer it this way. No one to bother you while you're shopping. I have nothing but good things to say about Aldi. I try to make it a habit to come here at least once a week every Wednesday after work. read more

Recently, I've seen quite a number of articles about Aldi's expansion, even news of delivery service coming to many of it's stores. Would be a boon on a cold winter day here in Lexington. Also, I've noticed that Aldi continues to bring new and quality products to our local market on a regular basis. I understand Wednesday is THE day to shop there to get a jump on weekly shipments to the store. Scan the aisles and maybe you'll discover something new, and save some pennies. Still a fan. read more

I hate grocery shopping. I think that it stems from childhood. It was always such a drag to go to the grocery store with my mom. She never got the cereal that I wanted. Aldi is small enough to get me in an out in hardly any time at all. I love that I can get it all done in less than half an hour. I'm not overwhelmed by choices. The only downside is that sometimes they don't have everything that you need and a second trip to a bigger grocery store is required. Last weekend they didn't have cornstarch, which I thought was a basic staple. They have great produce (it seems to last longer than the produce we buy at Meijer) and their prices are cheaper than other stores. On my last trips a dozen eggs were 47 cents. Be prepared to bring your own bags and bag your groceries yourself! And don't forget a quarter for a shopping cart! read more

some things are regular quality, nothing great, like produce. The staples, crackers, cereal, etc. are sub par. The employees are RUDE and rushed. They pay them by how fast they get rush you out the door. You will rarely see more than 1 cashier at a time. They don't allow it unless the line is out the door. You will actually have you items thrown into your cart as fast as possible and a snarl from the cashier if you don't have your money ready before she asks for it. read more

This is a very nice grocery store. I have been shopping here since they opened, and I love it. Their prices are about the best in town. The vegetables usually look very good. I have never had any problems with anything I have bought here. Most of their items are product of USA, or they are labeled with the nation of origin. Of course, the speciality items from Germany, etc. Aren't 'from here. They carry some seasonal items. It's easy to tell the difference between the seasonal, special, and regular pricing by the colour of the signage. Oh, and everything has prominent price signage. (Imagine that.) I seldom go to Kroger or Wal-Mart... I love this place. Make sure you bring cash or a debit card with your PIN... they don't accept checks or credit cards. It keeps their cost down. I see a lot of stores going that route. Their store hours are shorter than many... they open at 10:00 and close at 8:00 weekdays and Saturday. They close at 6:00 on Sunday. Oh, and they pay a living wage! All of their staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. .. maybe the living wage helps. There is plenty of parking available. I have found some pricing difference between this location and the one on the other side of town. Not usually much, but sometimes a bit. Sometimes I find an item at one that I don't find at the other. No big deal, just a little interesting, sometimes. If you haven't tried ALDI, stop in sometime, you will probably like it. read more

Very clean and organized store with plenty of great brands for very good prices. There are many imported goods that are hard to find elsewhere, and the quality of their food seems very high. The produce was plentiful and also seemed to be high quality. Though the store can get backed up due to its layout, as long as you aren't going during a high volume time you should be fine. Wish they had more of these stores, I've never been to an Aldi I didn't love, and this store was no exception. read more

I do most of my shopping at Aldis for my staple items. There are certain food items that I won't venture from the name brand on that I don't buy here, but most everything else I do. They usually always have the lowest prices in milk, eggs, fruit, etc. Occasionally they will have name brand items. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they don't take coupons on the items that are name brand. You also have to pay cash or use a debit card. read more

I shop Aldi regularly and appreciate their selection, efficiency, and prices, but today I send this review concerning customer service. Let me explain, I was shopping lightly, arriving to the line with one of my favorite salsas and noticed the label on the side of the container said "mild" but the lid said "medium". The cashier called the manager over and he shared his thoughts that the container label was PROBABLY correct, but didn't offer any help like, let me check if we have others, or I'll xhexk in the back. So, I said I would purchase all 3 then go back and look for correctly labeled "mild" containers- no problem, all the time thinking, strange he didn't suggest helping. I found only one container. Went back to the cashier, she then told me I needed to get in the back of the line, that was tough! It was a packed house! When it was my turn she offered no other deal, like this ones on us, just a quick sorry. I like Aldi for many reasons but their thoughtfulness towards customers gets a one star for sure. read more

In hopes of cost-effective shopping, I decided to check out Aldi's since I had heard great things about them. It seemed like a lot of my socially and environmentally conscious friends recommended them for shopping on a budget. I'd give them overall 4 stars. 5 stars for good prices. With that, they sacrifice some in terms of service. I'd give 3 stars for service. When you shop here you bring your own bags, and pay a quarter to borrow a cart. They don't employ someone to bag or assist you with your groceries, so you do it yourself. I also felt like I was being rushed, and the store was very crowded with people, and not the best on organization and selection. They do have excellent prices, including prices on organic, and allergen free foods. I couldn't find everything I was looking for here. I did probably 3/4 of my weekly grocery shopping here and was happy with my shopping experience. I plan to return at hopefully a less crowded, busy time (I came on a Saturday morning), and start doing some of my regular shopping here. Aldi's is great! read more
