Literally chucked my groceries back in cart as she scanned them, was not given opportunity to bag groceries and expected to bag them somewhere out in parking lot I assume . read more

Ever since Aldi's opened I have been going at least 3 times a week, especially to buy fresh vegetables. I used to go to the 99 cent store a lot but Aldi;s has such a great feel about it. The employees are always so friendly making it a pleasurable experience just being in the store. Great prices. They are a little more than the 99 cent store but fruit is consistently better and the price of eggs is incredible. They have been around 53 cents a dozen for quite awhile, just went up to 73 but I can deal with that. It still beats the high prices of eggs everywhere else. read more

This Aldi store is closest to my home, but the layout (which is the exact opposite of the W Valley store) throws me off. Except for that, I like the Aldi shopping experience pretty well, but I still have to shop at Walmart Grocery for the brand name items I like. I have to say, though, some of Aldi's brands are great. I like their laundry detergent, dish soap and paper products. read more

This store gets one star due to horrible customer service. We went there for only the second time today. At checkout they have a system of just putting your groceries into a waiting cart (not the one you shopped with). You can't bag them as they put them in the cart or the checkers get annoyed that you slow them down. If you're like us and have a toddler in the shopping cart it also means you have to transfer them to the new cart so you can leave the old one for the next customer in line. Now to why the 1-star. Today the checker put the milk jug down forcefully into the bottom of the cart causing a slow leak from the bottom. We had a bunch of reusable bags and a bag of dog food on the bottom of the cart that was catching the leak and no one noticed. As we were walking through the parking lot the vibrations caused it to leak faster and we noticed the leaking. We stopped and quickly removed our bags because they were getting covered in milk. As my wife cleaned up that mess I took the punctured milk jug back to the cashier to ask if we could get another. She looked at me and said, "Well it didn't look like it was leaking when I scanned it." So I replied that she must've punctured it when placing it the cart. She took offense and shot back, "or maybe you damaged and now are trying to get a new one!" Then she quipped, "just go get one." As she turned away. I was shocked and told her "Wow, we ain't ever coming here again." I did go grab my milk to replace the one I absolutely didn't damage before walking out. Tried to call the manager, but you can't find a local number anywhere. The fact that they won't handle local customer relations over the phone makes me feel they don't really care, so I can't be bothered to reconsider giving it another shot. read more

The store has good items but not everything you need. The worst part is the employees. Cashier number 12 was very rude and slammed our items in our cart. Our milk broke and she blamed us. Never coming back. read more

I almost don't want to rate ALDI just because I'm hoping it remains a hidden gem. I finally made it down to ALDI last night after having East Coast friends hype about it for months. I walked in with high expectations and was not disappointed! I was blown away by some of the prices, particularly canned goods, breads, cheese, EGGS, milk and frozen goods. I've been in food heaven the last 24 hours. So far we've had the raviolis (I believe they were kale and sausage?) they were totally delicious and a great price! The coconut spread butter replacement is also great, along with various breads/ snacks. Best of all is their raspberry sherbet ice cream bars - SO DAMN GOOD. Honestly, I'd replace going out to frozen yogurt with them. Pricing on meats and pizza were also great prices. I even got their flowers which are very comparable to the quality of Trader Joe's flowers (just not as many options to choose from). ALDI totally reminds me of a Fresh and Easy (which I loved), but is about 1/2 the price! I can't wait to try more foods and will definitely be a regular here. read more

See all

This is a nice, clean, and friendly store. It's not huge, but usually has very good prices. Although they stock mostly their own store brand items over named brand items, I think the quality is right up there. I just wish they would open up a little earlier on the weekends. read more

So and ad that they had gone all organic. I thought I would check this place out for a 2 nd time . Not impressed they have very very limited selection on things . Prices where good if you want the lowest quality of a product. It seems liked a low end Fresh and Easy it's nothing like a Traders Joe's even though they own it read more

The quality of these products are great. Clean store and once you get the concept I can see why the prices are much less than other stores. Brands are just as good if not better than popular, well known brands. The only thing that I have encountered is when it is busy, only one guy is the checker and he throws the food in my cart and messed up my avocados and graham cracker crust pie shell....he needs to either slow down or get a second checker if it gets too busy. read more

Wow! I loved this place. My family in Illinois have raved about this store for years and I saw the sign on my way home from the gym last night. Super clean, great prices on all the same food you get at a regular grocery store but with their brands. I spoke with a couple of the managers (Greg and Brandon) about the store and they showed me around and suggested different items I should buy. I will definetely go back and tell everyone I know. Check it out for sure. read more

Just received a delivered order from Aldi and was pleased with the whole process. Picked out what I wanted on-line, told them when it should be delivered, and it was, no problem. One item only not available. Best part is that I can have groceries delivered about 33% less than the same items from Von's. I do understand that generic is cheaper than brand names, but when it comes to 99% of the items it doesn't make any difference. First delivered order via Instacart had free delivery; will see what it costs for the next one. So far, happy! read more

Horrible... I stopped by because I had heard somewhere that Aldi in Germany was started with Trader Joe's. I had to check it out !! I walk into the store to look at their products and I notice that there are no baskets available for shopping. Also, I notice that the store looks just like the inside of Grocery Outlet around the corner. There were no cool products like I find at Trader Joe's. I walk back outside to get a cart and they were locked up. I saw an elderly man dropping off a cart after he finished his shopping. I walked toward the cart to use it since it was not locked up. This man started yelling at me about having to put a quarter in to use the cart !!! So, now I have to deal with cart misers if I want to shop at Aldi..... definitely a no-no !!!! I don't walk around with quarters in my pocket and any quarter I do have I need for my laundry !!! I walked into Aldi anyway and asked a manager about the baskets. He said they are not available and he offered me a free cart. I told him that a gentleman outside wanted to fight me for his cart. This is stupid. There are a million stores in Escondido that don't charge for carts. Don't waste your time here. I did not see anything interesting anyway besides spring water that cost more than it does at Major Market. read more

All the middle of the aisle deals are a joke. They NEVER have more than a few per store. iF you don't get there at the beginning of the sale week at 9am when the store opens, they're GONE. This has happend to me regularly. You don't even give out their store phone # so I can check to see if they're sold out. I am disabled and this represents a real problem for me-to go on wild goose chases for non-existent inventory. Like I said, they are joke. And all the time you are talking to them the manager has this sarcastic smirk on their face as if to say, if you don't like it, too bad. Well, too bad for Aldi, I'll just go up the street to Walmart neighborhood market next trip. read more

Awesome prices. I love this place! I go there and get twice as much as I would from anywhere else. They have a large selection of anything you need. The only thing I would say is that I still go to stater brothers or costco for meat and of course liquor. read more

This place is awesome. We spend way less on groceries here. The meat is reasonably priced, the produce is reasonably priced as well. Our usual we go in and my son gets to munch on a basket of berries on sale... for like 0.89 cents. He is quiet the whole time. My husband loves this grocery store and even the diapers are cheaper than Walmart. Make sure you bring a quarter for your cart. Overall this store is a different and good experience. read more
