Whoever thought rearranging the entire store was a good idea, THOUGHT WRONG! Even a hard working store clerk had a hard time finding where she needed to place items. I was told by one of the stockers that they wanted to put like items together. Not a bad idea however when you have pickles mixed in with the cereal, oil mixed in with dog food, just random boxes placed on the shelf it makes no sense at all! The store used to be very clean and nicely organized. It is now a total disaster. It's a very unpleasant shopping experience, the only things that remain the same where are the items around the entire perimeter the rest is a nightmare. LOVE LOVE this store PLEASE bring back the Aldi's we knew and loved! read more

i bought a bag of organic avocado, pears, mandarins and grapes on 1/7/25. i had to dump almost all because the were not good. most of the grapes were burst and rotten, same for the pears and mandarins. the avocados were soft and squishy. i will never shop there again. read more

I used to love this Aldi! So much that I would drive half an hr just to go. The last visit left much to be desired. Produce section stocked but only offers 2 organic options: blueberries and strawberries and they both looked like they were going bad. Boxes in the aisles made it difficult to grab what I needed. Milk spills and thrown paper towels made it feel like I was walking through an obstacle course trying hard not to step in any trash piles. Gross. A great meat selection. It literally had everything I needed. But the drive, the trash, the lack of organic produce will keep me far far away. read more

Pretty cool place! My hubby and I checked out Aldi for the first time yesterday - we found some really great deals (I still can't get over less than a buck fifty for a gallon of milk - what the!?!?!) and can't wait to discover more. We saw a lot of canned goods and other pantry products for half the price than regular grocery stores, and a lot less than Wal-Mart, which typically has the best prices. The only thing I didn't really see at a much cheaper cost was the cat treats - the price for those was pretty much the same as everywhere else. Luckily I had read the reviews beforehand, so we were all set with a quarter for the shopping cart (their carts are HUGE - never before have I seen a shopping cart built for twins - or two small children!!!), and we brought our own bags. I ordered a grocery order via doordash. On my receipt it stated the order cost $24.24. I was charged over $46, didn't receive my entire order, and was never credited for the items I didn't receive. Upon writing to support, I was told in a length response that basically I was S.O.L. Disappointment doesn't do my feelings justice. read more

I used to be a die-hard fan of ALDI, and I shopped at this particularly store regularly. I had previously given it five stars. Fairly recently ALDI underwent a serious renovation. They totally changed this store, making it look new and flashy. At first, there were some good things about it, like they had increased the cheese selection and the aisles were wider, making the store easier to navigate. But pretty soon I started noticing the store's stock changing. Product after product that had been staple foods for me got discontinued. I don't think I could list them exhaustively. First was the toilet paper and paper towels that I used to buy regularly, which were made of 100% recycled paper with a high percentage of post-consumer content. Then a seasonal muesli that they would have every year, for a period of several weeks. It was unsweetened. It stopped coming back. They also discontinued the unsweetened shredded wheat cereal that I used to buy in quantity. And BOTH brands of canned soup, again, that I used to buy in quantity. The canola and sunflower seed oil that I used to buy, I haven't seen it in nearly a year. The bread I used to buy. In the past, products had come and gone, but it was always okay because they would always add back at least as many products I liked as they were discontinuing now. The killer though, was that they weren't adding back anything I wanted to buy. There were no replacement products. And I started noticing a pattern in the products: they were discontinuing unsweetened, whole grain products, and sustainable products, and they were leaving the mainstream products like overly sweetened cereals and white bread and processed foods with a lot of refined carbs. It was like they didn't value me as a customer, and were even trying to give me Type II Diabetes. The overall quality of the products here has decreased. There is just so much junk now. It's still cheap, but it's like shopping at a dollar store. If I wanted to shop at a dollar store, that's where I would go. I went to ALDI because it offered high-quality, sustainable, healthy products at bargain prices. It was unique, unparalleled in this regard. And it's no longer the same store. What puzzles me so much is that there is now so much empty space on the shelves. The old store was compact, efficient, and expertly-utilized. The new store has a lot of unutilized space. They could easily stock other products, the products I want, without having it take away from their other stock. Most of the stuff I want is non-perishable anyway, so there would be little loss on their part even if turnover were relatively slow. It makes no sense. I get the sense that this store has become badly run. I still come in here, once in a while now, to pick up a few isolated products, like chocolate, nuts, and cheese. But I don't shop here regularly any more. And I feel very angry and betrayed. I not only shopped here so frequently, I was incredibly loyal. I published about how much I loved ALDI on the web, and I brought countless friends in the door for the first time. I would talk to everyone I knew about how much I loved ALDI and how everyone needed to see it and needed to start shopping here, how it would change my life. And then they changed it. I hate them for it. And I sincerely hope that they reverse course. They've destroyed one of the most reliable things in my life. And for what? The same overly sweetened, processed garbage you can get in any mainstream supermarket in the U.S.? Yeah no. The ALDI management can take that and ram it up their sorry noses. I want this chain to reverse course and become the old ALDI or I want them to get the heck out of my community and stop taking up space that could be taken up by a better supermarket chain that knows how to do it right. read more

I'll never set foot in Aldi Elkton Maryland again today I unloaded my cart as the green sign said and waited for the cashier to come and tell me and the customer behind me to load our groceries and go to a different island because she was not going to cashier and turned her sign around to closed. I had previously stopped shopping there and recently returned and found that the store is not properly managed and the produce is verge of rotten and finding mold in pre package berries. There's to many adjacent groceries to be aggravated trying to spend money. read more

I have to admit it's taken me quite a few years now to finally step into an Aldi but I'm so glad I crossed that line. Up until now I assumed that because Aldi was cheap and they didn't bag your groceries that they were like a busted out Save-A-Lot but that is not the case. Not by a long shot. For you non-believers (like I was) consider this. Aldi, which is short for Albrecht Discount, is the American incarnation of a German grocery chain that is so ubiquitous in the Vaterland that almost 90 percent of Germans shop there. Aldi has incorporated much of its European model that makes such better sense for a positive shopping experience. For instance, they don't bag your groceries for you but instead put them back in the cart where you can bag your own at a bagging counter. I love this concept and would rather bag my own groceries but I can imagine the outrage of an average American customer who realizes that they have to do a little bit of work. Oh the horror! Also, Aldi imports many of its German products and has been able to keep the cost really low. If you look close you'll see many items that look like off label generic items but they are really German imports. And they're good and cheap just like the American dream promised. But you will also notice a lot of local and regional produce. Nice touch. Look even closer and you will be pleased to see that many of these generic looking items are certified organic. You may not notice at first because they don't follow the American model of blasting you with a big label that screams "Holy shit! This mofo is organic!" No, it's more low key. After all, the Germans put the B in subtle. (That's a joke because the b is silent making it, well, subtle) Oh but it don't stop there. Neine meines Kindes. If you want a grocery cart you have to deposit a quarter to get the cart out. Now I know what you are thinking. "What? I have to pay for a cart?" No, dummy, it's a deposit. When you return the cart to the rack the machine kindly returns your shiny quarter. And if you believe in instant karma like I do you can turn around and hand your quarter to the person coming for a cart and ask "Need a cart?" An investment of 25 cents into random acts of kindness doesn't get any easier. But that's what Aldi's does. They do good things like that and if you pay attention you will notice. And because the attendants don't have to retrieve shopping carts from the parking lot they can stay seated behind the register. Yes, check out clerks are seated while they work. This is my favorite part and another example of European practicality. Why must American retail workers stand for their entire shift even if they are in the same spot for 8 hours? Give them a seat! Oh, and for you foodies out there who think you can't get good food at a discount store consider Trader Joe's. We all marvel at the excellent products and experience we have at our local TJ's, right? Well, even though TJ's was created in California in the 50's it's been owned and operated by Aldi since 1979. So yea. Aldi know's what's up. Pro Tip: They don't take credit cards but they do take debit. Pro Tip: They sell their Aldi brand of 5 hour energy for 69 cents. BOOM! read more

When Aldi opened a few years back in Elkton MD, RIGHT NEXT TO WALMART, I smugly told my kids "they'll be closed a year from now", but guess what? Aldi is thriving, and Walmart? not so much. Aldi is just better... less expensive (by a lot) and better quality products. Not much selection, but trust the Aldi brands and you won't go wrong. Walmart shelves are empty time and time again for things like milk. Really? You can't stock milk at the Walmart? And not talking during a 100 year snow storm either. Love the selection but the employees are awful. God forbid you box your items as they scan them, they will flip out on you. Excuse me, it isn't going to hurt you that I put my entire 8 items in a container as you scan them. I could see if it was a big order and I was in some way slowing them down, but they are petty for no reason and nobody needs that kind of energy these days. Do better. read more

I absolutely love Aldi! This location just had a remodel and it is great! Very nice inside! The prices are excellent and the quality of food is wonderful. One of my favorite things about Aldi is almost none of their products have artificial colors or all that added bad stuff. I feel good feeding my family with their products and my kids don't know the difference. The Aldi finds section is great as well. You can find some great deals. Staff is friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a mega store with wide variety, hyper illuminated isles and fancy coolers don't go to this place. Now, if you are looking for the basic stuff, GREAT prices and a quick checkout head to ALDI. They have one or two of everything, don't expect 5 varieties of each product but you'll find some really good deals (eggs and milk for example are ridiculously cheap). read more

I LOVE Aldi! This is my go-to grocery store if I'm picking up generic things like eggs, bread, and milk. I can get a loaf of wheat bread for less than a dollar! Tell me where you can find that anywhere else. Plus, Maryland does not charge sales tax on grocery items so this place is a win-win! Super clean environment and very friendly staff.
