I have saved a lot of money here. The salmon is top end. Chicken reasonably priced and your dollar goes a long way. However, today my cashier, Yessica, was trying to break a speed record in cashing me out by scanning and literally dumping and dropping the groceries in the same spot of the cart. You/We bag at Aldi to save money. I even asked her to kindly adjust and she ignored me. At the end i asked if she had something against me. She smiled and then i asked for a manager and she refused. When i went to the manager she said that she would address it, but not immediately. So i returned to my groceries and bagged. After bagging, Yessica continued to work. Nothing done about it. I've been coming to the 3 different Aldi's in the Boca market on and off for years. The prices are much cheaper than Publix and others. The first was the Hillsboro store to open. This store became so run down and dirty, out of many things often so I stopped. When West Boca opened, much cleaner, but again, always out of staple items, so stopped going there too. The newest, in the former Office Depot site, Yamato & Federal, is modern and new, clean and was pretty well stocked. However, in the last 2 months, they again are always out of everyday staple items on a regular basis ( i.e. chicken breast, banana's, cantaloupe, grapes many times, etc. It's so annoying and frustrating. I asked the mgr and he said they changed the inventory system. We'll, it surely hadn't helped or working. Aldi is a fast growing grocer, but they need to get their act together. read more

I'm not the biggest fan of Aldi, in general, as I've only been to a few of their stores. One of them (in Coral Springs) is newly remodeled and it shows and it's the one I like the best. I wasn't familiar with their system of paying for their shopping carts. There are no signs explaining how to do it. Luckily a nice fellow shopper explained as I was trying to figure out where to put the quarter (!). We did bring a couple bags in with us as we remembered that they don't supply them. Again, there are no signs telling you about this, either. We were nearby for lunch and decided to stop in to pick up some of the things on my shopping list. We could only find 3 things -- a can of green beans, some fresh mushrooms, and frozen Brussels sprouts. Either they didn't have the item we were looking for at all or they had only one choice and it wasn't the right size or didn't appeal. Of course, that didn't stop us from buying a few other items to try and see if we like them. Essentially we are trying a couple things because they were cheap -- not because we know they're good. There was only one lane open to pay. But the gal was pleasant and fast (they have a requirement to be fast checkers). Only time will tell whether what we bought was a good idea. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to shop at this Aldi, but might if I'm the area. read more

Think of Aldi's as the estranged brother of Trader Joe's. The abbreviated history is that Aldi's and Trader Joe's were owned by German brother's who fell out over whether or not to sell cigarettes. One headed the chain that became Aldi's and the other chain became Trader Joe's. While Trader Joe's has great prices, Aldi will beat them and just about everyone else's prices every time. You can still signs of that German heritage all over Aldi's like the German roasted coffee they sell. If you want to save money on groceries Aldi's is a great way to do it. In order to bring you those low prices Aldi's has instituted some cost cutting measures. If you want a cart you will need to bring a quarter and to get your money back you need to return your cart from the parking lot back to the store saving employees from having to collect the carts. You will also have to bring your own bags or pay for theirs. Lines will most likely be long because they keep their staff to a bare bones minimum. Best of all is the check out. To get people through the line more quickly they will literally throw your groceries into the cart they keep chained at the check out. You will frantically try to grab your items out but will never be fast enough. I used to just carry groceries around the store in bags I brought but getting my own cart has made the checkout process a lot smoother so now I always keep a quarter in my car. For years I was an on again off again Aldi's shopper but lately I have been going once a week because I can see the savings add up. The kale and spinach I put in my morning smoothie is a fraction of the price it costs at Publix. I also save on the flaxseed and chia seeds I add. During the school year I purchase inexpensive snacks for my students. Right now I am crushing on all of the German specialties. With all of the Oktoberfest festivals getting cancelled because of covid, you can throw the best Oktoberfest fest in your own home with their delicious and cheap food. I have picked up apple strudel, bratwurst, spätzle, bavarian pretzels, sugar roasted nuts, apple cake, red cabbage, sauerkraut, and pork schnitzel. I have never been disappointed in any of their products. They have your German beer covered too, Aldi's is saving Oktoberfest. Now that I am a more regular shopper I noticed that a lot of other people love Aldi's too. I have gone back to get more of something that I tried and liked only to find it sold out. That is how I ended up at the Deerfield Aldi's instead of the one closest to my home. I was trying to hunt down more apple strudel and French roast coffee but struck out on both. I did find some some caramel apple covered pretzels, an apple scented candle, and other new items to try. The inability to count on items being there is frustrating but the money I save makes it worthwhile. read more

I would give this store a 3.5. Make sure to bring a quarter or your own bag to carry your purchase in case you can't find a unused box in the store. I learned the hard way when Aldi came to our area and I wish they would have a sign explaining! This location is a decent size. I joined a facebook group for aldi nerds that allowed to find lots of new items that I would have never found on my own and I've been really happy with everyone's suggestions. The only downside of most aldi locations is that there's rarely anyone to help you around the store and this particular location never has enough cashiers when the store is extremely busy. Many people with 10 items or less get suck behind a person buying nearly the entire store. read more

I've questioned the quality and handling of ALDI USA foods for awhile, I have my reasons and I have stopped shopping there as often! Here is another nail in the coffin that will prevent me from shopping there! This morning 2 brand new packs of Turkey Bacon had to be thrown away! Both packs were bought in the past week with a Sell By Date of May 16th! They are slimy, I even cooked 2 pieces to see if maybe I was imagining things, the smell was horrid! I couldn't bring myself to taste it, it was more than obvious that it was bad! This is not the first time I've experienced something like this from Aldi Deerfield! So both brand new packs that have been in the fridge have gone bad! This is such a waste of money , I'd rather spend a little more at Walmart or Publix and know it will last at least to the sell by date. I didn't save on this purchase. Beware! read more

I have shopped Aldi for sometime now and have been pleased up until today. I went to the one at 747 S Federal Hwy Deerfield beach Fla. At check out there was a black girl maybe in her young 20s. I only bought a few items and did not need a cart so I used my shopping bag. I asked the girl to please put the items in my bag as she rang them up. She said she dosent do that. Ok then I sad can you roll over a cart so I can put my bag into the cart while i put my few items in it. She said she did not do that. So I put my bag on the floor and put my groceries in my bag. I have a bad back and it was difficult. I asked her for her name and she said Elsie. Dont know if that is true or not but if Aldi management reads this pleas know I was there at 1:25 PM Feb 25th and there were only two cashiers a young man and this nasty girl who apparently dosent like old white people. read more

This is a wonderful market carrying some brand name merchandise but primarily off brand items. The store is a European enterprise with stores starting to pop up all over Florida. Prices are very good. Weekly ads show super bargains in produce and other items. I just wish the store was larger. The store is the size of a Walgreen's. I spoke to the manager and he told me the stores in Europe are the size of Walmart. WOW! I recently purchased two winter squashes. Each felt like they weighed in excess of three pounds each. They cost me only $1.29 each. That's about forty cents per pound. Where can you buy winter squash at that price? Produce is much cheaper than Publix. Hydroponic lettuce is $1.69 versus Publix $3.09 plus. Products sold are high quality. Prices are kept low as they only except cash, debit cards and EBT. No credit cards. You must bring your own bags and do your own bagging. Shopping carts require a twenty five cents deposit that you put into a slot. When you return the cart, you get your quarter back. Store is super clean as are the restrooms. Staff are very friendly and obliging. Parking is plentiful. If you are looking for a super bang for your buck, this is the place to go. PS: If you are not satisfied with any item, you can return it. They have a double satisfaction guarantee of a refund plus a product replacement. How can you top that? read more

Not sure what to think of this store. A confusing mix of a Ross, Trader Joes, Fresh N Easy and Walmart. Definitely a lower end range in the prices. But a wealth of European looking brands, especially in the candy and cookie area, which is a whole aisle long. All items are merchandise in the shipping boxes, so you really get a discount store feeling, but it is well lit so it's still got an up beat feeling in the store which overall is very clean. There is an area with kids toys that looks like TJ Maxx quality. Some kitchen goods like mixing bowls and utensils that looks similar to items I have seen in Costco and other discounters. All the drinks are brands I have never heard of... but I don't get around too much. The fruits selection appears similar to Walmart down the street. Lots of frozen prepared foods, with identical packages to major brands you would find at Publix, buy with different brand names. Just reminds me how it all comes out of the same factory... thanks to the industrial food conplex. Not sure why I would want to come back, I don't buy prepared foods, or soda, or snacks, or junk, and the fruit not that impressive. The prices must be good, because everyone here appears to be a pensioner, the silver haired crowd. Oh, and the carts are chained together, you have to put in a quaternary to release one... this incentives you to return the cart back to the store. The first time I saw this was in The Netherlands when I was a kid. So it was funny to see that here, when Americans are so used to someone else cleaning up after them. read more

Decent selection of things and some name brands available. Whenever I go there are extremely long lines and I usually only have 5 small items so I wait over 5 minutes in the check out line. The store can get congested from people stopping and looking for things. It was difficult to watch the cashier today (in lane 4) barking at elderly customers who are slower and were "slowing down her line" and then trying to take the cart she puts their items into after ringing them up. Not everyone knows to bring a bag with them to carry things out. Rudest customer service I've ever seen here. read more

First time shopping at Aldi I only bought bagels, cream cheese, smoked salmon and coffee. Smoked salmon is delicious sold in 3oz package for 3.99. Mini bagels only 1.69 cream cheese 1.49 and very nice whole bean organic coffee 12oz bag for 4.79. I don't think you can beat that anywhere! read more

I needed to pick up an inexpensive bottle of wine/champagne for a real estate closing. There's a Crowne close to my office but the cheapest nice looking bottle is about $14. I had heard about Aldi and just a few doors down from my office, I stopped in. I darted to the back of the store, which had a decent sized wine selection. I got a nice looking bottle for $6. As I ran to the back and to the front to pay, I saw the deeply discounted prices on their produce. I knew I had to come back when I actually had time. Once the closing was over I headed back. I needed a few items for my pantry. We eat fruit or vegetable with nearly every meal, which gets costly. Aldi has a private label brand of canned goods, chips, etc. A bag of tortilla chips were $1.19. I have yet to taste them but how bad could they be? Cans of spinach are $0.79. I normally use fresh but I have 1 recipe that calls for canned spinach. This was definitely less expensive than Delmonte and tasted the same! Mixed in with their private label are some name brands sprinkled in here and there. They also have household items and tools. Interesting for a grocery store but fantastic prices! The produce section was the highlight of my trip. I got a pineapple for $1.25 which is cheaper than Costco! 3lbs. of Chiquita bananas for 50 cents! I think my trips to Publix and Costco will be fewer now that I've experienced Aldi. Some good to knows: The shopping carts are 25 cents to unlock but you get it back when you return it. I've never seen that and was confused at first. BYOB- bring your own bags! You can purchase plastic or paper bags at the checkout line for a few cents each but reusable is always the way to go! The cashier does not bag your items. S/he puts your items back in the cart and there's a huge area just past the cashier where you can load your bags up. read more

Everytime i go here i generally have a great experience. Accept for the lack of cashiers open. I've never seen more than 2 cashier's open at a time at this location. But thats not my issue. My complaint, however, is the handling of food when the cashier rings up your items. I had a young girl yesterday who was slamming my items so hard that i had to ask her to be more careful with my food then she proceeded to slam my banana's into the cart and i responded to her "didnt i just ask you not to slam my food so vigorously into the cart?" No response, no apology just rushing me off to help the next guest which happend to be my mother. This is not the first time this has happend to me at this Aldi. Are Aldi cashier's being trained to ring you up at lightening speeds to cut costs of hiring more cashiers to accomodate customer's ?? If so, this enables poor handling of food items and it is unacceptable. Next time i will address the manager as well as get names to then leave yet another review which includes their names. I am shopping at Aldi Deerfield Beach since almost five years: customer service is above and beyond compared to any store like the local Publix (where cashiers are rude enough to ridicule their customers as new ones stand right in front of them). Clearly, Aldi operates on a unique concept and allows consumers to save a great deal of money: fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, certain organic products (eggs, milk), nuts, oils and certain cheeses alone save so much money at each and every shopping - I can only say, thank you for having a location this close to my home. Obviously, their daily deliveries ensure fresh produce on a daily basis - good advice, try to shop in the early morning because most of the days come afternoon they are literally sold old on many of the fresh items. read more

This grocery store certainly fills a niche--inexpensive, high quality food items, including produce (along with some miscellaneous merchandise)--for those of us watching our budget. It has become hugely popular, and although I generally buy only a few items at a time (I shop at Costco), I see some customers purchasing prodigious amounts of groceries. Good for them--they're probably paying half of what they'd pay at Publix down the street. Although it's not fancy, it's clean, bright, and cheerful, and a pleasure to shop there. read more

I've always liked the store but what is always been a problem is that they are out of stock on products quite a lot. It really sucks when you go to a store to buy something and they're out of it. Really makes no sense for a store that sells mostly their own brands to be out of anything. Yesterday I was in the Aldi on Federal highway in Deerfield. They were completely out of the never any cold cuts in every variety there's no excuse for that at all.I've been to other Aldie's and most of them do not have the same problem. I have saved so much money shopping here! I now go every week for food and other items. This is a do it yourself store so if you like to be catered to, don't go here. You have to pay for a cart 25 cents-but you get it back when you return it. They run a small staff of only 4 people so they can't afford to retrieve carts from the parking lot and elsewhere. You are going to pack all your own groceries in your own bags. So bring your own bags with you-or pay 6 cents/bag. But, you will save money and you will like the taste. My family are picky eaters ,but I got the thumbs up on most of the products sold here. My daughter is gluten free and they have a large gluten free line which is $2 cheaper for each item than Publix. Again the savings are noticeable, just come with can do attitude. As in you can do all your own work here. read more
