The only negative thing about this Aldi location was navigating how to get there. I hate having to make a U-turn to get into a parking lot. Today's shop was maybe 60% of the weekly shop and absolutely, the prices here are way better than anything I would get at the other local chains. Generally, the tradeoff for price is quality but that was not the case today. For example, I picked up some terrific fresh salmon and a few wrapped packages of ground beef that were as good, if not better, than the other spots. And definitely less expensive! But there were several items on my shopping list that were not on sale at Aldi today. That's okay. I saved a bunch. Aldi is all about saving cost and one of the ways they do that is the shopping cart thing. Bring a quarter to release the cart and then you get the quarter back when you return it. There are only a few different brands stocked in the store (but what they do carry is well stocked). They do not give free shopping bags. You can either buy bags, bring your own reusable bags, or you can take their cardboard boxes. Oh, and they don't bag your groceries for you either. That's for you to do once you've paid up. I love shopping at ALDI for produce, poultry and seafood. Others have made comments about it not lasting as long as other grocery stores yet I've never experienced an issue with it going bad in a few days. To keep low prices they do not sell certain produce individually like onions, potatoes, lemons, apples, etc. It is sold by the bag. You can buy vegetables individually such as cucumbers. I wonder if this ALDI location does not stock the cauliflower crust pizza or if I have terrible luck. Do they sell out often or has not been in there for the last 7 months? Overall, this location may come up short on the variety of flowers, a few food items, beer and wine. Someone is always restocking and the store is always very clean. I can do 80% of my shopping here. You cannot bear their great prices or quality food items. That's why I love ALDI. Do not come 60-90 minutes before closing. A lot of salads, fruit produce, and other food items will be low or completely out of stock. read more

This location just opened up in our area. It's extremely neat and clean on the inside. It's a neat concept shopping here. You have to use a quarter to "rent" the shopping cart. And apparently you get your quarter back when you return the cart. I didn't use a cart, I just walked around. There are plenty of options to choose from! I was impressed. I'm a major fan of shopping at Harris Teeter, but this place I wouldn't mind going to every once in a while. Check out took a while. There were only two registers opened, but that kind of stuff happens everywhere. The lady checking us out was super friendly. She welcomed us and was excited this was our first time being here. Found some nice items to buy. Can't wait to try it. read more

New store with plenty of parking. Prices are low and affordable. Bring your own bag or pay a small fee for each bag you purchase. You can rent a cart for a quarter. They have fresh produce. It's clean. The lines have been long so be prepared to wait. This is a great addition to the community. read more

I am a long time loyal Aldi customer. I happily pass other grocers to go to Aldi. Today my husband and I did about $200 of shopping by way of self checkout. I am very disappointed that the security guard literally followed me back and forth as I picked up the scanned items from the waiting bay to our bags on the shelf right next to the register. He was so close to me I almost bumped in to him on more than one occasion. There was another customer having an issue at the register where the employee was, yet he felt the need to publicly say out loud to my husband "You know you need to pay for that first?" We were not even finished scanning our groceries! When have we ever been able to walk out of a store without paying? Why would he feel the need to call us out publicly? Then the overbearing security guard watches us pay and stands in our way to say he needs to check our receipt, which I had in my hand to show, as if he did not hover over every product we purchased. I felt extremely turned off from the whole experience and I was genuinely confused when the cashier at another register was telling us we needed to pay for things we hadn't even finished buying. The nerve! I wish I had the time to leave our entire cart and suspend the transaction to shop at at least 3 grocery store nearby. I even had to stop at one for a name brand Aldi does not carry. I will heavily reconsider shopping that location and perhaps Aldi. I appreciate your value and improvements to carry organic and quality products, however we shop for quality customer service and today Aldi dropped the ball. The "District Manager" Morgan called to follow up and claimed she did not know the name of the security guard because he's not her employee, but that she talked to him and reviewed the footage with his boss. She also said she did not know the name of the cashier. She claims both are new and have been retrained. She stated the security guard was "... just doing his job to prevent theft during the busy holiday season." That is a load of crock, unless his job is to harass long time customers. The tone of nonchalance from the corporate customer service rep to the DM has left a very nasty taste in my mouth and I am not convinced that this issue was as serious to Aldi as it was to us. Thank you Aldi for not caring enough to know your employees' names, but more than you care about making sure your customers feel seen and valued. Good luck securing a store that won't have many customers for long, treating them like bad apples. If I could give a 0 I would, but I have to give a 1 to spread the word... read more

The best Aldi in town and nicer than most other grocers. Five years ago the Charlotte Aldis were small with very few options which is why the Monroe Road store being so awesome is surprising. The store is pretty big with a ton of organic and premium options while still being super cheap. The biggest plus is this store is way nicer than the nearby Harris Teeter and other grocers. read more

Have just found out about this brand when moving here from friends as they could not wait for this location to open. I really enjoyed this and have shopped here many times. Great selections of products, consistent options, good produce, nice bread section, great pricing and love the concept. It is a great idea about the shopping carts and the quarters! I liked that they had a clean store, easy to find what I wanted, great options in the frozen foods area and snacks to take to work and for packed lunches. I now do not live as close but still make an effort to come and shop here due to my experience here. I would recommend this shop location and the brand to my friends and Yelp friends. read more

I've visited at least four Aldi's in Charlotte and I will say this is my favorite. The flow and organization of the store makes a significant difference, particularly the produce. I would say that Sunday is probably not the best day to go. I went on a Sunday afternoon and every bag of lettuce possible was gone. However, I was able to get everything else I needed for my grocery trip. read more

The opening of this aldi converted me to being an aldi believer for sure. Great place to save money on groceries and still get quality food. I get all my produce there and have yet to have any complaints. Snacks are cheap and they still offer some big name brands. Cant remember the last time I wasted my money at HT. read more
