A wonderful young man came out to see if I needed anything and was very knowledgeable about trees and all things gardening. He was an ideal business person and I am looking forward to returning today with pics of my tree so he can help me identify what it is and help with companion planting. As I wandered other areas like their green house and market, other associates were super friendly and also very helpful. The lovely aromas of fresh produce and baked goods coming from their shop was so tempting! I resisted but plan on picking up a pie today when I return. Although it was just a recon mission yesterday, I didn't leave empty handed as they actually had some FREE perennials which I was thrilled about. Everything is fresh, ready to be taken home. I was thinking peanuts, last time they had cans of Virginia peanuts. I grabbed a couple cans for giving at Christmas time. The smell of the pies baking stopped me for a minute...nothing like a fresh baked pie. They're not small like in the grocery store...it's a family sized pie. Apple, cherry, blueberry..too many choices. I decided on blueberry crumb. It was warm when I picked it up!. Ok time to hit the road, I'm feeling like pie and a little ice cream. I paid and was gone. When I was home it was some of the best pie I have ever had. Definitely recommend for fresh vegetables, nuts and fresh baked pie. You can't go wrong. I think the market is seasonal...not really sure. I could have a bad day and coming here instantly cheers me up. Prices... health costs money but copays cost more. You choose. Parking... decent. The turnover is quick and I've never had to wait to park. People are usually in & out. Issues... the only herbs they sell is cilantro. I'm ok with that (mostly). But I really wish they had mint & basil. They are closed during winter. Makes sense but... Those are the longest 4 months for me.

Froze on cookie sheets then transferred to gallon bags. We bought some that were a bit soft for pie--maybe because we froze them?--but are great dehydrated (for us & our dogs!) or made into apple butter. (Pies? Ask for the firmest apple.)

This is somewhat of a smaller Walmart that I have been to, and this is one that you can tell was built back in the 90s and not torn down and replaced. Evident by the front of the store where the carts are stored. Pharmacy was off to the left of the one entrance and, as this is a theme, smaller than expected. And busy, it made it hard to browse and select items, almost always someone was in front of you or blocking an item. Especially if it was the aisle that forms the line leading to the pharmacy counter. On top of that, workers are milling about filling the shelves. So another obstacle to overcome. After what felt like an eternity, I had everything that I wanted and a few other items that I didn't necessarily need. Made our way to the front of the store to the self checkout lines. It took a while to get to an open register. I had to do two separate transactions and being able to do so without a line directly behind me, made it easier. However, being eagle eyed by the three employees hovering around the self checkout area was a bit unsettling. Finally paid, made our way outside and back on our way for the day.
