I was unfortunate enough to be hit by a car while bicycling. After surgery I went to Wesley Place…read morefor rehab and stayed two weeks. I regret stepping foot in this place. Every nurse and CNA was friendly and more than competent, however medications were often given late and most of the time it took more than 20 minutes for somebody to answer the call button. This was not due to laziness of the staff, but due to intentional understaffing. I was at Wesley to receive physical therapy. I had a horrible therapist who threatened not to give me therapy. I left messages three days in a row to the head of therapy and now, three weeks later I have yet to receive a call back. I also called the administrator three days in a row and then once 7 days later, and am still waiting for a return call. If the head of the main department for skilled nursing cannot take the time to call a patient in the facility, and the administrator cannot either, nobody should ever stay in this place. Let me conclude on a positive note. My problems were resolved by the social worker, Sarah, who took her job to heart and treated everybody lovingly and with great care and attention to detail. She deserves to work at a place that appreciates her and its patients, so if anybody needs an amazing social work, call Sarah. You won't do much better.

There is still no medicine and it's almost 9PM, and they said it won't be there until tomorrow. I tried to call the nurse, and there was a message to leave a message. Yes, I left a message over an hour ago, and no call back. I then tried to reach the sales rep. No answer. Of course. She sold us. Left her a message. I wish I could move my sister tonight. Who credentialed this place? Shame.

I give zero stars. A new resident in their memory care unit was essentially bullied out. Too…read moreregimented and rigid for residents with cognitive decline and no person-centered care at all. Shameful that their ONLY advisement is to prescribe meds so they are not functional since I guess it would be too much work for the staff there. No compassionate care and everything was this resident's fault it seemed. I will not divulge the rest of the sordid details, but I am aghast at the indifference and borderline neglect regarding this community's services. Especially pertaining to a specialized ward such as Memory Care. SHAME!!!!!!

My mother lived at the Admiral for a little over 2 years in the assisted living and memory care…read moreunits. We were sold on the location which was very close to where she was previously living by herself and the proximity to the lake and Andersonville. While she began to settle in OK during the first year in assisted living as her Alzheimer's progressed, so did the care she received. My mother was an incredibly intelligent and social woman. She was a retired college professor and maintained her intellect and curiosity throughout the course of her awful disease. The majority of the staff at The Admiral however, was unsupportive of her desire to understand her care, meet people and engage in the community. They ultimately forced her into memory care too soon where she was locked on the floor and left to sit either alone in her room or parked in front a TV. All she wanted was to continue to engage with people and use her mind and they could not provide that basic care. After several months of rapid decline in memory care the staff kept referring to her as psychotic even though all of her doctors at Northwestern repeatedly agreed that her symptoms were all related to her dementia. The Admiral went against my wishes and had her sent to Saint Mary's Hospital (outside of her network of doctors at NW) where she spent 3 nights alone in the ER and then was involuntary committed to the psychiatric ward where she spent 2 weeks completely catatonic. She never recovered. I was able to finally get her released through no help of the Admiral and had her moved to The Artis Lakeview where she received excellent care alongside Bristol hospice for the last 1.5 weeks of her life. The Admiral may appear on a tour as it did to us a lovely lakeside facility, but when your loved ones actually need real care towards the end of their disease they will accelerate the decline and refuse to provide the grueling care many people need in the last stages of dementia. Do yourself a favor and ask to tour the memory care floor before you move your loved one here. Really look at how the residents are cared for and ask how they stay engaged. It's a tiny floor and you will find them all staring blankly at a TV or hiding in their rooms.

The staff here is verbally abusive, and will do anything to ruin your life!!! They not only do that…read morebut if you have low self esteem be careful since they will do anything to bring you down and kick you while they are at it. Plus they put you on restriction for no good reason other then to make you suffer!!!! The treatment is awful, the caseworkers are busy bodies and won't keep anything you tell them to themselves like they are suppose too. Also they don't care to listen to your side of the story ever!!! Plus many people living here haven't seen their psychiatrist, or only see them on occasions. THIS PLACE IS WORSE THEN HELL ITSELF!!!! DO NOT COME HERE I WOULD NOT WISH IT ON MY WORST ENEMIES!!!!!!

They stole my $8,000 disability backpay and I have been working the last six months since I moved…read moreout to try to get it back. They lie and say they have internet access, but they don't. The doctor nearly killed me. He took me off medication cold turkey instead of weaning me off, which could have given me seziures. I ended up in the emergency room and was put back on it immediately. The same doctor also tried to give me adhd medication/stimulants at 7pm, meaning I wouldn't have been able to sleep, so the man obviously doesn't know what he is doing and is dangerous. They wouldn't answer basic questions about money and their paperwork, claiming they had already answered it, and then finally flat out said they refused to talk to me or my family. A staff member yelled at me and made me cry and have a panic attack because I was standing two feet too close to him while waiting for food. When I went to social security to talk to them about my SSI they showed up and went into the meeting without asking me. Afterwards they said that I went behind their back by going there. When I requested I get my medication an hour earlier so I could go to social security again, they refused. I could have still gone, but I would have missed important medication and afterwards they would have not let me leave the place for a week as punishment. One woman told me I was going to get kicked out because I wouldn't sign some financial paperwork that neither I or my family felt was explained. At one point they accused me of recording them secretly, which is illegal (I wasn't). Once they gave me the wrong medication but luckily I noticed before taking it. When I had a cold not all the staff would measure out the amount (even when I pointed this out to them) and would give me five times the dose. When I was tried to move out I filled out the correct forms and did everything they told me to, yet the day of they said they didn't have the right forms and they locked the door and refused to let me leave. They don't take people out for events. The events they have in the facility are pathetic. They had a "make valentines day card" event. It lasted seven minutes. This was the worst time of my life, and I am the daughter of a meth addict.
