Do not do business here. They ignore their phone lines, you can end up waiting for hours to just get put on hold. Staff is unaware of their own ploicies. I was told there would be a five day hold suddenly turned into 10. Absoutely horrendous customer service. Even the most simple transactions are greeted with disdain from overworked tellers. Weeks ago, I tried to apply for a refinance in this branch. I was informed that I can call to make an appointment. But, there's no answer for the phone call, no call back. It sounds like to me that they not welcome customers, nor would like to do their job in some way. Went to this bank trying to get a pre approval for a mortgage and they didn't respond, I had to keep reaching out and asking and when I finally received a response it was extremely rude and short with no explanations just an unfinished sentence response. 0 Stars is what it should have. This bank has been in a downward spiral since it changed hands form Aldenville to Alden. I will be closing all accounts at this bank this week after over 40 years. New Management is only concerned with raising fees and making things as difficult as possible. 1) Can not activate ATM cards on Saturdays 2) Can not order you a new ATM card with out canceling current card (again no temps on Saturdays) most banks print there own cards now days. 3) No manger available to handle issues on Saturdays 4) Saturday banking on Mondays businesses day so a outrageous 2 day hold on a money order is now not available until Wednesday so they can sit on the money. They can take it out and hold it your money immediately but cant clear a Money order for 5 days! 5) bank fees $30 6) ATM card restrictions to certain states making on line purchases impossible. list goes on...... After writing the review I was contacted by the president of Alden and he was tremendously helpful and apologized for our experience. We arn't going with Alden but I would reccomend them based on the customer service I received from the president. The bank locations are fine. The employees are helpful and kind... But if you're looking for a bank with a mobile app that works.. keep looking. I have no idea why this bank has such a low rating. I've been banking with them for almost 10 years and have had no issues. Both times my credit card info was stolen they were on top of it before anyone could even spend any money. Great bank in my opinion read more

I am a dealer and I called Alden Credit Union to ask a question; I was looking to continue our business together, but to my surprise the woman I dealt with had a horrible attitude. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Kim was so rude and honestly made me feel as if I had done something wrong by asking the wrong question. Furthermore, she kept using works like "obviously" and "I guess" and "well, like I said". I took a deep breathe, said "ok, thank you" and hung up the phone. I always liked my representative from Alden, but I don't think I was treated properly at all by the girls in the office. I have been in the customer service business a while and I do not approve of the way she spoke with me or handled the situation. That's how people lose business. Normally, I don't even write bad reviews, but I did NOT get the help I needed and I feel a little angry at how I was treated. Hopefully no one else experiences the same. read more

I read a bunch of horrible reviews on Alden Credit Union and it is disturbing to me, as I have been doing business with them for over 50 years. I may not always agree on some of their policies, and sometimes it's a bit inconvenient to go there in person. For the most part, I have automatic direct deposit into a savings account and when I need to I will have my credit card company take the money from that account. It has always been seamless. The one area of inconvenience is when I travel internationally and they want me to show up in person to sign a form. In this day and age, it should be available electronically, with a way to confirm that it is me asking for access to may account while out of the country. I have several products with the CU, savings, car loan and home equity. The loans have decent rates. All said though, I do like the Credit Union and will continue to do business with them. read more

Stay far away from this place. It's ran by the most incompetent people on earth. Every transaction every interaction is pure misery. Their cyber security is nonexistent and your card will be blocked for no reason. My cell phone carrier bills through Pennsylvania, I go to pay said carrier and my card will not work. I call Aldenville Credit Union, after much confusion on their end and the receptionist placing me on hold for eternity, so long I had to hang up and call back, they informed me that they blocked transactions to Pennsylvania. I would have to go to the branch to sign a waiver. Well I work in the customer service industry from 7am until after the branch is closed. So I went today to fill out said waiver on Saturday...my day off. Waiver is an amateur document that seems as though it was drafted by a kindergartner vs a law department. I fill out the waiver, receptionist takes waiver and claims this will be resolved in 30 minutes. How the receptionist knows how long it will take is beyond me. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and left. I should have sat there until the block was lifted. I went on with my day, called cell phone carrier 8 hours later and there still is an issue. I give impeccable customer service 40 hours a week this place will make you feel as it is a chore to answer the phone and assist you with an issue that is their fault. Let me tell you this place is incapable of providing service that meets the year 2017 demands. Instead of stepping up their cyber security they are just going to block every state that has fraud issues. I was also told by the receptionist that the state of Florida is blocked. Like what? She went on to say well Walmarts in Florida are blocked. Aldenville I know will say this is to protect customers, when it is their inadequacies that are affecting their customers in a negative way. The WORSE credit union in western massachusetts!! I applied dor a loan on monday, i waited until Thursday to call to give them a break; i called was on hold for over 5 minutes then transfered to Tracys because she was supposedly working with the auto loan application then. Instead i was let go to her voicemail. I left a message for her to call me with an update and today it is Friday 4:47pm and no answer from anyonr at the credit union. I have few loans with alden CU i just paid off a car loan and have been doing business this is the way that they treat their members!! Caused my wife so many problems. They take forever to get back to you. Then they ask you if you give them a crappy review to "take it down or change it". If a person gives you a bad review it's because your customer service is unsatisfactory. Don't try to put a cherry on top of a pile of dog crap, it doesn't make it taste any better. Alden is the worst bank I have ever had to deal with and since I live three hours away I have to call which means either being ignored or getting someone with an attitude problem. I have a car loan through this bank and send a paper check every month, no big deal right? WRONG! I have to call every month because they charge me a late fee. They have lost the check (which cost me $25 to cancel the check and they still charged me a late fee) and just "forgot to cash it" is what I was told which was another late fee. When you try to call you get some kind of front desk person and then she transfers you to an answering machine every time and then the person NEVER calls back. Do not use this bank they can't even manage cashing a check every month. My loan is almost paid off thank god, the I will never deal with this bank again. read more

Considering canceling all my accounts! Was totally embarrassed and shocked to have my debit card confiscated by an ATM while out of town only to find Alden suspected my account might have been compromised via Home Depot Hack. No notice, no phone call nothing just suspend the account leaving me high and dry with no explanation until I called to get to the bottom of it. Reason given for no notice " We're very busy!" I'll find a less "busy" credit union. By the way still no official call or notice read more

I love Alden Credit Union! We have all of our accounts with them and NEVER had a issue with anything. We are currently buying our first home with Alden! They have been right on top of things for us. I will never change banks:-) My kids even like going to the bank on Fridays for popcorn! How many banks do that?? read more

I received a telephone call from the Fraudulent company representing Alden Credit Union and was completely dissatisfied with the lack of follow up. I contacted the office in Aldenville and was assured I would receive help from a number given to me. I once again tried to contact the company and was again put on hold for up to 15 minutes. When I did get a human voice, I heard the same rhetoric and more apologize. I was tied up for nearly 45 minutes. The fraudulent companies that Alden uses are ineffective and with extreme POOR follow up. I will continue to pay off my account and more than likely cancel all together... read more

Poor service. If I could ever get them to process a payment correctly, I'll be surprised. Every month I get a late notice and have to call to show them I paid on time and on XXX and they have to correct the payment. They definitely do not have the bells and whistles of a larger bank if your a busy person and like to do things quickly online. Takes forever!!! read more

I have had nothing but problems with this company since I was forced to do business with them a year ago. The staff at the Chicopee, MA Big Y location are extremely rude and they look like its punishment working there, which it probably is. I can not mail checks into Alden Credit Union any longer as they claim they don't get them, now I have to physically go to a location and make a payment since Alden Credit Union doesn't have an online payment option, even though its 2017 for the remaining 4 years of my loan with them. The staff does not return phone calls, or if they do, its because I've had to call and speak to several people before being transferred to a voicemail, I call back and insist on speaking to somebody actually in the office. The very first month I was doing business with Alden Credit Union, they cashed my loan check, and didn't apply it to my account. I wrote to them and called them, I did not receive an apology after I showed them evidence of a cashed check, and money that was not credited to my account. I will never recommend this business to anybody, if it was up to me, I would take out a personal loan and pay off the loan I have with Alden just to get them out of my life for good. read more
