I have ATM cards from two banks that have locations in Palmer, and I went first to the big/national bank where I keep most of my money. It was first thing in the morning, but they couldn't help me. I needed to make an appointment to come back after lunch. They weren't very friendly about it, either. So, I decided to take out some cash (I had my passport for ID) and go see the Country Bank branch. As I suspected, Country Bank was able to help me immediately. Deanna K. was the teller who saw me first, and she was able to issue me a new ATM card. Unfortunately, there is usually a 2-day delay before the card could be used. Carole Reuter, the Branch Operations Manager, was able to override this for me once she understood that I was in a bit of a jam, since I needed an ATM or credit card to go online and get a temporary license to drive. Both Deanna and Carole were extremely nice and accommodating and understanding. This is truly customer service at its best, and it highlighted for me the difference between a big-name big-bank and a local bank that genuinely cares about its customers. got a cold call from James with the 'You and I spoke recently about funding' sales pitch. When I…read morecorrected James "you have never spoken with me" he uttered a curse and hung up. When I called back to discuss a potential loan (I AM in the market.), James picked up the phone and hung it back up without even a greeting. I called back again, spoke with james 'BUT WAIT ! I MIGHT BE INTERESTED'. He put me thru to his loan advisor Andy. After a few minutes reviewing their terms, I said I'd think about it. and BTW.. your employee James etc etc etc. Andy's complete lack of concern was as telling as James' initial conduct. I contacted one more individual via their toll free number and while he expressed a few monotone platitudes, he was far more interested in getting me company saving financing when I said 'I would now rather go out of business than to work with your office..." IMO - the lack of professional conduct most certainly reflects their company standards, not to mention their business model. outside of the next Noah style flood event with this company having the only available boat... there is absolutely no imaginable scenario that would cause me to do business with this firm.

Based on their clientele I would think they'd have more locations or at least more ATMs. If they want to stay small they should at least offer ATM fee refunds because the closest PVCU ATM to us is about 7 miles away which is not convenient.
