Located inside a beauty collective space, Sharon's room was cozy, inviting, and had a very Zen feeling. I went for the 80 minute treatment and it was one of the best facials I've ever had. I nearly fell asleep twice because she also takes her time and is meticulous with making sure you leave feeling relaxed and satisfied with your treatment I'll definitely come back to try more of her services. On top of being an expert technician, she is just such a lovely person and someone you definitely want to come back and support. Check out Sisu...you won't regret it!

Taylor completely transformed my brows and, truth be told, my entire life! After years of…read moreneglecting my brows and frequenting random places for lamination, I sought Taylor's expertise. In literally less than a month, following her recommendations, my thin, patchy brows grew back so much that we no longer need to laminate them; they just require shaping and tinting and look absolutely phenomenal. Beyond the brow transformation, I turned to Taylor during a delicate period in my life, nine months before my wedding, seeking to address my brows but also confiding in her about my embarrassment of my overfilled look of my face from years of filler. Taylor empathized with me and recommended a clinic in Venice that she had a good experience with (this was just one of her many amazing recommendations) setting me on the path to achieving the perfect look for my big day! The 40ish minutes I spend with Taylor each month are truly something I look forward to. She's not only an exceptional esthetician but also a supportive friend (and mini therapist) . Highly recommended!

FULL DISCLOSURE: I'd previously met Julia and hung with her at the South Park walkabout last year…read moreand bought a beautiful knit shrug from her knittery "The Love Stitch" at Yelp's Christmas Bazaar. Awful confession time: I'm a grown-a** woman, who until, a week ago had never had her legs waxed. There. I said it. Go ahead judge me. (Screams shrilly: "You don't know me!!") Yep, Bic and me are tight. Homies... but like many teenage friendships we just kinda stopped hanging out. We could blame that slick hussy, Venus, but really, we, (I mean, "I") out grew the relationship. (snicker). So with a trip to sunny Desert Hot Springs and my, ahem, "winter coat" over-staying well into spring time... I rationally decided, "B*tch got to go". I was nervous and apprehensive. My god. What to look for? Would it be clean? I tense up when I'm nervous and uncomfortable, wouldn't that hurt more? What if the wax made me break out like the filthy facial waxing I got a few months ago? Would my pale, ashy, Portland Womyn Hippie Leg Forest be judged? OH GOD THE ANXIETY!! And then, I spotted Jae and Leona. Actually a friend, (a gentleman cocoa connoisseur, no less) suggested I try his friend's spa treatment establishment. (All this months ago) I'd dropped by to check it out, but chickened out and forgot all about it, until... the trip! Nope- the Ani Di Franco look wasn't gonna cut it. (Love ya Ani!) So I puffed deep on my inhaler to settle the oncoming asthma-anxiety attack and made an online appointment. $65 for the ol' gams. Not bad. The quaint, upscale rustique storefront is very welcoming and soothing. Julia was warm and sweet, funny, and disarming. She knew I was internally freaking out and walked me through the process, her background, and the wax to be used. She gave me time to prep and lay down with a warm towel for modesty (blush). And set out to soothe my concerns with news of the day, chit chat, and answering any questions I had. The whole process was a lot less painful than I expected, maybe because Julia said it was fine if I had to cuss or stop, or needed a sip of water, etc. Every time the warm sugar wax came off, she massaged the spot to quell any sting. The candles and tunes playing made it more like makeovers with a great friend. It was spic and span. I was so relaxed by the end and happy with my silky smooth legs! Can't wait to be back and try their facials or a peel! Seriously the way my legs feel hydrated and oh so soft - is addicting! I absolutely recommend Jae and Leona for nervous Nellies and finicky Faes. It' upscale luxury with a hometown heart in two rooms - so you're the focus of expert attention!

Here is some back story on how I ended getting a facial from Cynthia…read more I went for my first facial in about 3 years. And, I was traumatized the last time I had a facial, the woman who I didn't know had done some extractions and it was horrific. I had talked to someone that had the most amazing things to say about Cynthia, so I took the plunge. My first visit with Cynthia was amazing! I ended up getting an aqua gel facial (at least that's what I think it was called). Regardless it was magical! Cynthia cleaned my face to try and get as much dirt out before doing any of the extractions. She was so gentle when she was doing the extractions, she new I was super nervous. She kept me informed about what she was doing, it was ana amazing experience. We also talked about what I did for work, and I explained that there is a lot of physical labor. And, she gave me a little taste of her myofascial release it was so amazing. I literally could feel my self stretching like silly puddy. It was so amazing. So long story short, have zero doubt about your experience with Cynthia. She's amazing at what she does!
