And dare I say, it was among the nicest of them and a great place to rest after an overnight flight from New York. I arrived here around 3:30 PM and was greeted in the lobby by one of the owners, who cheerfully showed me to my room and explained hotel policies. Room 9, while small, was perfect for my needs as a single traveler. The room was bright, the bed comfortable, and enough power outlets were provided for my things. The following morning, I woke up to an excellent English breakfast in the hotel pub. One of the other owners greeted me as I walked downstairs in the morning and took my breakfast order. A few minutes later, bacon, hash browns, toast, and tea were sitting in front of me, easily the best free hotel breakfast I have ever had. This even beat out the Embassy Suites breakfast. There aren't many times I've had a hotel room with better value than this. The Booking.com rate could have been paid with 15 British coins and many places would have charged at least 4 of those for a breakfast like was offered. If I'm back in the Telford area, I don't know why I would stay anywhere other than the White Horse.

The point of the update is that two colleagues and me went to use the vouchers from previous visits. I held 9 vouchers. 6 vouchers gives £12 of the bill. No problem. I mentioned that the other 3 expired 30/11/14. Not another problem, swapped for 3 that expire November 2015. Plus 2 more for the meals that had been paid for.... So, 5 new vouchers.... They serve wonderfully prepared food in a restaurant/pub that has a friendly atmosphere, good quality real cask ales and a high regard to customer service. If you've been after the return of the great British pub with well cooked food - this is the place for you. All of the meat comes from local butcher, Martin Thomas of Pattingham and is cooked to perfection on site by the chef and owner, Caroline Haddon. The wines offer a nice selection of both new and old world and are easy to drink and good value for money. Highly recommended.
