Management, you need to do better. Understaffing check out? Leaving only one person staffing the entire self checkout area, no regular checkers? So not cool! Get your act together and customers be warned before coming here. At least Aldi has enough cashiers and you get a discount for bagging your own groceries. Service is always mediocre, every time I've gone to the deli they are always out of product or can't slice meat due to the slicer being down or something else. Just went in tonight and there was a person smoking right at the entrance blocking the carts, with all their personal bags in the cart. Better off driving somewhere else. I can't give this place anymore chances, it sadly gets worse and dirtier each time. You can tell they cut corners compared to other Albertsons in the area. Why are Albertsons' chocolate chip cookies so delicious? They also make great guacamole and chips. I like stopping by Albertsons when I need something in a hurry. The service is consistently friendly and helpful, and the store is always clean. While the prices tend to be higher than other grocery stores, the convenience makes it worth it when I need something fast and the quality of the items is always good. I always come here, but lately cashiers have an attitude. For example today I did self check out because they hardly have cashiers, I paid for groceries and paid for a bag. I told the person in charge of self check out and she responded with an attitude that they have no bags. She didn't even apologize or nothing, there's no sign or anything saying they have no bags. read more

Got some chicken tenders from there last night. The deli lady was so friendly and helpful. They make them there and are really good. I was surprised tho that whether you get them cold or hot, it's the same price. They have a good selection there and everything is kept clean. Albertsons is ok. They are the closest store to me but I think they are overpriced and I really dislike their parking lot. My car has been run into once by a crazy driver and I was almost run over by another crazy driver and getting out is pretty hard during certain times of the day when it is crowded and the line to get out backs up quite far. I am not sure who designed this parking lot, but they failed miserably. When you factor in all the other stores, restaurants, and businesses in this overcrowded strip mall, plus all the roaming high school students, it is a logistical nightmare. The store itself has everything you need, but it looks old and outdated and is in need of a makeover. The self service checkout machines work some of the time, and when they do that is helpful. There is a Starbucks inside so that is a bonus but there is also a real one a half mile down the road. The bakery is ok but most of their items are either overpriced or just don't taste that good. For example their donuts, not worth the money and not that good. Some of the employees are nice and helpful, others not so much. read more

A long long time ago this used to be Lucky's (30+ years ago) and the prices were low. When it changed to Albertson's prices were raised but still within decent pricing. About six years ago when Safeway bought Albertson's they increased prices. When the nearby Ralph's closed another price increase. Their loss leader weekly ads are priced low to get you into the store. A few items are decently priced but most are priced similar to what you'd pay at a convenience store. At some point, you'd think they'd price themselves out of business. But given that this is the closest grocery store for folks who live in the immediate area, they'll probably stay in business. Trying to get out of the parking lot is near impossible at certain times of the day: early afternoons when the high school lets out. Self-checkout stands are nice and help you get in and out quicker. Most of the employees I've encountered have been helpful and friendly. But they need to staff more check out lanes. read more

I visit Calif a few months each year and when I have to shop I shop at Albertsons. Each store has been great but this one they helped me with understanding how to use my app. I bought 29 items and saved $56. I personally don't like that stores make you use an app to find cheaper products but it is what it is. After Ralphs was closed on Cannon, this Albertsons location became really crowded. So we will use it to get a few items, but not for real shopping. It's just 5 minutes from our development, also CVS and Dollar Store are on the same plaza (another 2 popular shopping places). So I don't always complain, but lately there seems to be a lack of manners and common courtesy. So this morning I went to this Albertsons and most of the time it's fine, but we had gone for the spur of the moment donut. Store opens at 6 am to me this means your ready for the customer. So no donuts there was an empty case at the bakery. So okay how about bagel nope absolutely nothing ! So to things happen, but you have 3 employees in the bakery obviously didn't seem to be ready. Then as you stand there NOT ONE says " can we help you ? " Nope I was like a ghost. Not sure what's happening at Albertsons with the customer service, but here is a clue No Customers doesn't help your business. Maybe management needs to be out in the store making sure the doors are ready to open we have what customers may be looking for, or maybe we need another grocery store with better options and service !! read more

The store itself is nothing special. Not bad, not great. But its convenient as I drive by it on my way home from work. There are some grumpy employees, but I typically use the self checkout so that doesn't really bother me. That is, except for the jerks at the deli counter. Always in a foul mood, and clearly not wanting to help anyone. I mean, that's your job isn't it? But last night takes the cake. I stood at the counter to get some hot food. The guy comes out, sees me, slams the bag of whatever he was carrying on the counter, looks me in the eye and says WHAT DO YOU WANT in an annoyed voice. Seriously? Could not believe it. Seems its a common theme for this store, so clearly nothing is done about it. Fortunately, there are other stores closer to home. read more

Pretty standard grocery store with reasonable prices and good selection of goods. There are a couple things that I like such as the smaller double-basket carts, a decent selection of eggs and yogurt, and the self checkout registers. Also the bathroom is clean and you don't have to meander through boxes at the back to get to the restroom. It's also located conveniently in a shopping plaza in Melrose, along with CVS and a few local shops. A handful of items are on sale and they are priced reasonably. Some items are more expensive than those at their competitors though. I just wish they have a bigger selection of organic produce though. read more

Wish there was a 0 star option. This place is horrible.. The bathrooms were atrocious, there was urin all over the floor. No toilet paper and the soap dispenser was empty. Multiple steaks I bought were expired! I didn't find out until I got home. I went back to return the expired meat and complain about the unsanitary conditions. The manager Was extremely rude, disrespectful and told me it's not his responsibility to make sure there is non expired food or to make sure the bathrooms are clean. I ordered groceries to be delivered to my home and 1/2 were left at the store. When I called to inquire when my missing items would be delivered "Marvin" at the customer service number questioned the items missing and being the most expensive items and questioned if I was sure I didn't have them. I was shocked that he was insinuating that I was lying. He then went on saying the soonest my missing items would be delivered would be the next day or later. This was inexcusable and I told him his customer service sucked! I then called Albertsons and spoke with Travis who found my items and delivered them to my car. I am what you call, a loyal customer. Everytime I come back to this place, it has continually been clean, service = well, prices = decent/good. I just like this place... perhaps its the friendliness of the staff or the familiar faces you see. Somehow, going to a place over and over makes you feel like you know they are gonna take care of your needs. Birthday cakes: while I love gourmet and unique desserts. I wanted a simple marble cake with a Toy Story design. They went out of their way to make sure that it was the best birthday cake. I gave the designers a blank canvas and they did a phenomenal job on it. The starbucks inside is also convenient and just the same. The perk also is that every 10 drinks you log with your Albertsons card, you get a free one. This Albertsons has been continual in its service and product offerings. There are some things where I'm not completely wowed by but I think that is minimal when it comes to the overall experience I get here versus other Albertsons. read more

The Albertsons at this location is not terrible and at the same time, not great. It actually had some interesting gems that are great ideas but executed poorly. Two examples are: 1 - Walk in Craft Beer refrigerator - The shame is that they charge a significant mark up. e.g. Mother Earths 'California Creamin' is normally a $8.99 - 9.99 at most stores this store had it at $13.99!!! Really? Come on guys. Any higher and I would just go to the bar and pay the price at the bar and enjoy the atmosphere. 2 - The artisan cheese and meats area is again a great idea but lackluster execution. With these nice cheeses and charcuteries we need the bread to accompany that. They have no pita bread and a limited selection of artisanal bread. Poor execution... This store still gets 1 star only because I have too. There are several issues with this location, I do shop at Albertson but rarely this location. 1. I get some items are hard to come by but wven before covid they didn't stock shelves anda lot of the times items I am looking for is out of stock. 2. On a holiday weekend only had 3 checkers and 5+ customers in line to check out. 3. An employee was stocking shelfs and I needed something on a shelf below the one being stocked. Employee ignored me and kept stocking. So I guess they didn't want me to purchase the item I wanted so I didn't get it. 4. Some chains allow you to bring in your bags and they will bag. The issue here is that they won't bag in you bag but they will still charge for their bags. If you won't bag my bags and you charge for your bags then you shouldn't charge or provide a .10 credit for making us bag our items. You clearly reduced staff to help bag. They had 2 checkers 1 was 15 or less. Other one had a line. Went to self check out. The 2 kids there were talking and as I finished my purchase I was unable to put my phone number in. I was told I had to re-ring my complete purchase. That is bull they should be able to put my phone # in. Maybe you should have more then 1 line open for more then 15 items. I have also noticed you don't have certain items. They are always out. You lost a sale but then the kids managing the self service didn't really care. Long story short, first home, new to Shadowridge community, down to one income for two person household during the holidays, month into new home, the refrigerator goes out, on a budget, lost some food. To put it mildly, things are interesting at the moment. I checked in with Efren and his crew. I explained my situation and they provided a solution without hesitation. They could have turned me away but they did not. I was in and out in a few minutes. I am an avid protein cooker, smoke, grill, oven, pan, sous-vide, you name it. If I could give zero stars I would. All I can say is WOW! The people that work here are so terrible! I left feeling abused! My dog is a service dog as well as a emotional support dog, however I did not have his vest on as I don't find it necessary considering he is older now and I take him to every other grocery store and nobody has ever had any issue with it. My dog is small maybe 15 pounds. Not a pit bull or a big dog or anything by those means. I walk in and IMMEDIATELY get yelled at by a black lady at the front UMM MISS UMM EXCUSE ME HELLO? I turn around and she yells " THAT IS NOT A SERVICE DOG" To the point where now everyone in the store is staring and making me feel uncomfortable. My dog is in fact a service dog and has all his official documents. She continues to follow me and question me and tells me to get out of her sight unless she sees some papers. Let me tell you, it is ILLEGAL to ask to see your service animals medical records or papers. The store was busy but this lady continues to follow me around and screaming at me I got the 3 things I needed and proceeded to check out. Now a lady at the checkout is telling me I need to leave because I have a dog in the store. My dog is 9 years old and has never had any issue inside any other stores. You name it, sprouts, Walmart, target, vons, and every other Albertsons. This Albertsons was the worst grocery experience of my life, I'll stick to my regular Albertsons or any other store where I don't feel harassed for having a SERVICE ANIMAL. read more
