The "greeter" said to try the other end of the store"...yah right....did she notice I could hardly walk? I left, such POOR customer service. Went back several times later, again with bad leg, no drivable carts, no available HC parking. It's my feeling that in this community of elderly and handicap people that they need more the 6-10 handicap parking spots and many more drivable carts. OR, police the use better. I'm always seeing those NOT handicapped getting out of cars parked in spots reserved for HC. Also see younger people riding thru the store on the drivables and/or the carts being left in parking lot for extended times. Do the community a favor Walmart and get your act together and help us handicapped people out more. Better customer service would be nice too.

But that's mostly because I don't look for anything too out of the norm. Staff is there. But I have very little interaction with them. Back then we nicknamed it 'the M & M store' because we were always treated to M & M's. There were inexpensive toys for purchase that we always looked forward to getting during our shopping excursions to help us pass the time. Neighbors relied on this store to get fresh milk and produce and it was a lifesaver as my Grandparents only went to Vegas once a month to shop at a full size grocery store. Over the years I continued to return to this store as an adult when I'd visit the Amargosa, and after my Grandparents died I would visit with Marta Becket in DVJ and get my supplies here. Sunny is a delight and it's been so heartwarming to see this formerly very rough little store turn into a very inviting shop & restaurant. I don't know when it first opened under the original ownership but the fact that it's remained a vital Amargosa Valley market these past 54 years for me is precious. I didn't interact with any of the workers because I only ran into use the restroom which was clean. She was thirsting, we were bursting. Our destination - Needles. This was a perfect stop to fuel our journey across the unforgiving Mojave Desert byways. Restrooms outside Post Office Building, quiet fountain. Shoshone Museum across the highway. It is so good to be in a Pod. I kept thimking about the Jayhawker Party crossing this desert in their wagons, leaving dead Jayhakers, oxen and horses dead on the trail as the Timbisha Shoshone watched from a distance. We have Chevron fuel, cold Sprite, air conditioning, four new tires and a fine engine taking us to Needles.
