Every person I have has contact within this store has been stellar. Today I want to sing the Praises of just two: Esmeralda and Kathleen. Esmeralda oversees the self check out. When I see her I am happy and I know that if I flub something up, she will know how to fix it. There are certain people that just make the world a bit better and Esmeralda most def shines through. A PLACE TO PARK... free from parking meters, valet service and this place should be spacious enough that pulling into a parking space isn't stressful -- meaning this isn't Tetris, no one wants to rotate their car 14 times to get it to fit in the slot or once in a space you need a can opener to get out. I came here with a list of things needed to assemble a post-hike picnic at Griffith Park and found precisely what I needed. As a bonus for the store's till, I also left with everything I needed to make a quick dinner. As for well-stocked shelves they had everything I needed and many brands my local grocer fails to carry. THE MOST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK... is a saying I grew up with it means the best deal for your money. Like with any grocer you may choose to pledge your loyalty to, Albertson's has some great deals, be it weekly specials or established pricing. With that said, if you lead a frugal existence ... well, you can still make Albertson's your go-to store. A star rating here is non-applicable because I honestly didn't shop the store. This was a well planned insertion... I came in, put checkmarks next to every item on a very limited, well pondered list, paid and left. If I had done my almost weekly 200-300 dollar shopping spree here, then I would rate it. Doing so after buying grapes, hummus, turkey pepperoni and such doesn't lend proper reasoning behind star rating, but since you cannot leave zero stars for my particular situation AND everything did go extreme well, I'll give it five stars. KNOWLEDGEABLE EMPLOYEES... are a terrific asset, no matter what the business. Let's face it, sometimes we all need a bit of guidance to allow us to meet our objectives. Here you may need to find a particular item or simply tell the person working at the deli counter that you want enough of something to serve a specific number of people, or even the numeric code for the restrooms. Nothing says "we don't respect our customers" quite like setting off an alarm because someone picked up a prescription and tried to leave through the same door they entered. If you go to the pharmacy--often because you're not feeling well--you're still forced to walk the entire length of the store to exit, even if your car is parked right outside the entrance you used. Try to leave the logical way? Alarm. Public shaming for not complying with a completely unnecessary rule. Let's be honest: this isn't about safety. This is about funneling people past shelves in the hope they'll make impulse purchases. It's manipulative, inconvenient, and especially tone-deaf when applied to pharmacy customers who may be sick, in pain, or just trying to get what they need and go home. Good stores remove friction. This one manufactures it. Management should seriously reconsider this policy or at least create a common-sense exception for pharmacy use. I bought a $5.99 container of Sauerkraut (sour kraut) here and it was the worst sauerkraut that I have ever tasted. I tried a few table spoons and almost got sick; I threw it all out as it was a complete waste of money and a complete consumer rip-off; it was horribly bland and only consisted of one ingredient (no mixture of ingredients and sauces like a regular/real Sauerkraut). ALBERTSONS signature select Sauerkraut is a rip-off and will make you physically ill if you eat it (more than 2 tablespoons)....DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY; security is also poor in their parking lot as homeless and weirdos are loitering in their lot and the supermarket is not securing the lot and all sorts of strangers who are not going to Albertsons or the sushi place or coffee place in the same lot; they are parking in Albertsons and then walking away for 1 or 2 blocks to other places. I was visiting my friend in Atwater/Silver lake and he is disabled and asked me to buy some sauerkraut for him here but I told him it was terrible and not to eat it; he listened to me because he did not want to get sick; I ate the loss for the $5.99 to Albertsons though. read more

I feel angry and frustrated every time I leave this place. I stopped coming months ago after I was fooled the second time by discounted fresh items at the front of the store...imagine a whole package of fresh tortillas, taking them home, opening them, and discovering they are covered in mold. I decided to give this place another chance. Well, nothing has changed. They still don't have baskets at the front of the store; you have to flag a person down to obtain one bc they are also not stacked up at registers. Where are they? There are never more than 1 or 2 registers open, even during busy times. Of course they have all toiletries, detergent, etc under lock and key so you have to wait for someone to unlock...that wait time to find someone to unlock the doors is getting longer by the way. What's even worse is the items I used to routinely buy have suddenly gone up overnight in price. Ground beef, chicken, etc. The one reason I tolerated this mismanaged, understaffed store that has sold me moldy food twice in the span of a year is because I could afford their prices. Whoever is the franchise owner of this store, you should be ashamed of yourself and the decrepit condition you keep this store in. I feel for the employees...how are you getting any hours if there are only 1-2 registers open? Sold me a gift card and then realized (when trying to load that gift card) that it was fraudulent. They tried on 5 other gifts cards, same deal. The cashier took all the cards and said they're no good. I asked for a refund. They confirmed the refund was issued and gave me a receipt showing it as processed. Some days later, when looking at my cc statement, I found out that not only did they not issue the refund, but charged me TWICE for it - for a gift card I never received. So ... I went in today with my original receipt, refund receipt and bank statement in tow to explain the situation and get my refund correctly issued. Spoke to 2 "managers", Walter and Tony, who were not only unhelpful, but rude, hostile, and accusatory ("why did you wait a week to tell us?"). They made me feel like J was in the wrong. One even lied and said they would never issue a refund in such instances (as I'm showing him my receipt with the attempted refund by his cashier). At one point, he accused me of still having the gift card. Seriously? Why TF would I have a gc if I have a refund receipt for a gc return!?!?! After several instances of me trying to re-explain the situation, they refused to do anything and told me to come back in the morning and speak to someone else. Can someone help me understand what $5 Fridays mean? It's slapped to the front door but that's the first and last time you'll see it. What is 5 dollars?? I would like to know because I feel like most items are way more than that in terms of price point. Quality not sure. It's a little hard to navigate the store. Also can't shop at lassons because of corporate ownership (iykyk). I guess what I'm saying is please explain five dollar fridays to us and kindly have more people working registers. I've often seen one register open with a bagger... train that bagger on reg and lets us bag ourselves, I think more people would like that. Also in terms of meat I would love to see some thick cut pork chops available. They have boneless thin chops but I want thick cut bone in. This could be a well oiled machine. Right now we need to steer this sucking into the pit stop because we are due for an oil change. While we're at it I'd love to speak with the franchise owner about my suggestions. The not so hot. The wine prices are too high considering that Trader Joe's and, of course, Costco have much better prices. The Sales are great if you are a family and can afford to buy 4 items. Otherwise if you're Single most of the Sales are useless. They raise prices not by a small amount but by 50 cents or more and it feels like they are just taking advantage of the customers. The Good. We've been ordering cakes from Albertsons and they always come out so beautiful and always delicious. It was a last minute order and they were honest with me about their various limitations regarding giving them my decorations so they provided me with the most beautiful cake and I added my own topper. Francisco created and beautifully done base for the cake with PERFECT icing piped stripes, beautiful trim and gold and sparkling sprinkles! My friend loved the chocolate cake with fudge filling, which he suggested. Thank you and I hope Francisco is valued by Albertsons for the great cake creations. read more

I've been coming to this store on and off for about 10 years. Have always had great service and the staff have been lovely always. However today I witnessed some of the most disrespectful behavior I have ever seen. I can rarely be bothered to write a review but today I have to. A member of the team called Monty (per his name badge) was disrespectful to another member of staff called David. When I say disrespectful it was verging on abusive. Monty proceeded to publicly belittle David. To make this worse his mocking was acted in a way pretending he was mentally retarded. Now not having met David I don't know if he is mentally retarded. If he is this is even more offensive. Monty could not be aware if any one in the store was retarded or if a customer had a family member that is. His behavior is offensive to all. He proceeded to say he was joking. All I can say was no one was laughing and there were a lot of uncomfortable looking people. If management looks at reviews I would strongly encourage you to send Monty on a training course. His behavior in my book was bullying. If David is not performing, I find support and encouragement goes a lot further than disrespect and bullying. read more

Expect a minimum 20 minute wait at checkout, no matter the time of day, as this location has been deeply understaffed for a year now (and even the line for the self-checkout -- the innovation where the customers do the job of cashiers for free to save the corporation money -- is just as long, if not longer.) Unfortunately, as the length of the checkout lines increase, so do the prices, even years after the pandemic. Most recently, they've put an entire aisle under lock and key, making customers have to wait for an already overworked attendant to find time to come unlock the glass cabinet just so you can buy shampoo or basic medicine. This change sure seems to imply the owners think us customers are thieves. The staff that does work here are nice enough, trying to make the best of the bad hand the managers have dealt them, but unless you're someone who for some reason wants to recreate the Disneyland line experience (but with no fun ride at the end,) I'd choose any of the other many supermarkets nearby. read more

This review is "inspired" by the terrible customer service from the majority of employees here. One in particular, a young male cashier whose first initial is "I", is particularly bad. Do not expect him to say hello, thank you, goodbye or you're welcome. Do not expect a certain young female bagger to say thank you or act civilized at all. She is highly disrespectful. The manager of the store, an older Hispanic woman, knows who these two are. I had a conversation with the manager about one day when both "I" and the young bagger were both too beastly to say " you're welcome" back to me where I said thank you to them. This is a very expensive store. Expect to pay near-Gelson's prices. Expect to pay 2 1/2 times the cost for chicken thighs than the nearby Trader Joe's. Expect them to be constantly out of paper bags. Expect them to have dripping packages of chicken, which is disgusting, and nowhere in the store or nearby Is there a paper towel or hand sanitizer or anything to clean your hands after touching a dripping chicken package. - pure bacteria. The unhelpful and rude employees in the butchers dept don't have hand sanitizer. There is not a hand sanitizer to be found anywhere in the store. 95% of the time the hand sanitizer by the front of the store will be empty. Do not expect to find hand baskets near the front of the store anymore. They are now placed randomly anywhere in the store. the place where the hand basket used to be is now boxes of soda for sale. This place is really falling apart for the incredibly high prices. They charge ought to have top notch customer service, and top-notch hygiene throughout the store. Super king does better.
