Let's start with the shopper's total inability to pick appropriate substitutes. I'm sorry, but bananas should be YELLOW not lime green; Apricots and nectarines should not be hard as rocks; apricots and guavas are not even related let alone good substitutes for one another. Follow that up with their refusal to follow simple directions such as: don't tie the bags! I have arthritis and can't untie these KNOTS they put in the bags. I have complained ad-nauseum and I still get tied bags. Then there's the delivery drivers. Because of my disability I cannot bend to pick up things off the ground. I have several tables where they can be left in such as way as to allow me to retrieve them with a minimum of discomfort; I have signs on the front of my porch, on the door, even on the porch rugs stating - in English and Spanish - to put all the packages and purchases on the tables. Where do my groceries get left? ON THE GROUND DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF AN OUTWARD OPENING SECURITY DOOR SO THE ONLY WAY I CAN LEAVE MY HOME IS TO TOSS MY GROCERIES ALL OVER THE GROUND!!! Forget about the signs, just exactly how stupid does someone have to be to BLOCK a DOOR with GROCERIES when there is a convenient table 2 feet to the left?! Then there is the management of the store. When you call to complain about the shopping they apologize, but do NOTHING to actually fix the problem. I've been complaining for more than two years about the same problems over and over. NOTHING CHANGES. When I complain about the drivers the response is "There's nothing we can do. They don't work for us." I beg to differ. If you hire a plumber and he hires an additional contractor, you will hold the original plumber responsible for that person's work. When Albertson's hire someone to do a job for one of their customers, whether they are an employee or a contractor, ALBERTSON's is responsible for the timing and quality of the work that person does. At the very least they should be willing to take steps to make it right. Do they? NO. "It's not my job." is the standard answer. If they aren't going to take responsibility for the quality of the work of the people they hire - whether employee or contractor - then they shouldn't be in business. At least if I hire Door Dash or Uber, I can complain to the company directly if the driver doesn't do the job right. When Albertson's hires them - AND PAYS THEM - I no longer have that right and any complaints I may try to make fall on deaf ears. If there were another store anywhere close I'd use it, but Albertsons seems to have a monopoly for a 12-mile radius! read more

I would like to thank the amazing staff of this Albertson's location in El Paso for helping my mother with delivering groceries to my uncle and my uncle was very proud of the awesome work they did with Instacart and it's good to see a grocery store in El Paso like Albertson's have staff that really do care a lot about their customers. It appears Christian ask a customer the purpose of purchasing a money order. A new company policy, will that isn't legal. The cashier that replaced Christian did not asked, the reason for purchasing the money order. George D. gets 5 stars ! New to El Paso and in looking at the reviews for this Albertsons I was a bit skeptical but since it's so convenient for me I thought I'd give it a try. I was so pleased with how nice this place is and the items offered. The grocery area is huge, well lit, and as clean as any large grocery store I've ever visited. I particularly enjoyed the large seating area near the deli where the Starbucks is and the Sushi counter. Of course I had to give the sushi a try, especially once I saw the low pricing - can't get this in any other Large US city at these prices. After a couple visits here and taking a second look at the other reviews I feel this Albertsons has an unfairly low score. Perhaps folks writing the poor reviews probably need to travel to other big cities to get an eye opener. There is always room to improve, the outdoor seating could be larger, they could offer beer and wine at the deli, but then again the prices would be higher. Prices, amenities, size, convenient location, and vendors all considered the value proposition this location offers is pegged at a solid five stars! Highly recommend. read more

There's a sign in the deli area that is a sandwich menu. Premium hand crafted sandwiches. They are NOT available. The poor guy behind the counter held up a 1/4 bag of old sandwich bread and said this is the bread we use. Not the sourdough roll on the menu. I think he would've made a sandwich if he had the ingredients. Don't know. The sign should come down or be covered up. But I guess in this day and age I'm just grateful that grocery store employees show up to work.... read more

I go to Albertson's on Mesa primarily for convenience. This town really needs an HEB, we are in Texas, aren't we?!?! This store is generally clean, but certainly not shining. Produce tends to keep for a reasonable amount of time, but I've had several instances of spoilage within a day or two despite my best efforts to select something in good shape. The employees and management are friendly, but I've found most to be less than helpful. It's only a five minute drive from my apartment, so I'll keep going, but I wouldn't go out of my way to shop here. read more

I find it disgusting that during these stressful times Albertsons does not feel the need to show empathy for its regular customers. My 76-year-old, diabetic father came into the pharmacy at the Albertsons on the Westside of El Paso to fill a prescription for my 72-year-old mother. This was not a regular prescription as my mother had just been released from surgery and was filling the medications prescribed by the surgical team at Providence Memorial. My father showed up 15 minutes before the pharmacy closed, but for whatever reason, they refused to fill the prescription because they were too close to closing time. My father pleaded and even offered to pay them overtime for whoever had to fill the prescription. They still refused and my father could not fill the prescription, forcing my mother to spend the night without her post-surgery medication. This demonstration of callousness and heartlessness is completely ridiculous and infuriating. I hope no one else in the El Paso community ever has to entrust their loved one's health to the apathetic incompetency that is the staff of Albertsons. I am glad that I am in Dallas and do not have to patron Albertsons (and now I will no longer shop at its subsidiaries) and I am convincing my parents and anyone else that I grew up within my hometown to seek a better store and staff. With retail stores continually struggling against online shopping, I am shocked at the cavalier attitude towards customer service when that is the only saving grace in this current climate. read more

I went this past Sunday for my Prescriptions and I needed some lettuce, so I pass by the salad and soups self service and ...........What???????it was a big Dirty MESS!......and I thought well maybe bc it's the weekend and maybe they don't have enough Help.....then I went again today for my groceries and I passed by so I could see that the food section would be clean the way should be.....and This time was worst! I started moving my arms bc they were a couple of flies around the spilled soup and it's when I waived to one of the Deli guys and when he tried to put the pot cover He noticed one fly inside the soup... And I told Him I hope you're throwing that away.....They should make the effort to keep that section supervised and clean at all time. read more

This Albertson's is great! The employees are always super helpful, from the cashiers to the cart catchers outside. The market is super clean, the vegetables are always beautiful. The only reason they don't get all the 5 stars is because they keep running out of coconut water. Other than that they're great. read more

When others said that this place had the best customer service, I had to check it out. Other Yelpers weren't kidding. This Albertson's has the best customer service of any grocery store I've visited. Tony is not your average bagger; he's amazing! He saved me some serious dough by recommending alternative products and running to get them in the store while I was checking out. That was awesome! Whatever he's getting paid is too little. He at least deserves a bonus for helping customers. Beyond that, the store's kept tidy and clean, and the products you'd expect of any grocery store is in stock. read more

A reliable supermarket with a very good pharmacy, deli, bakery, and butcher. Also carries a pretty good variety of seafood. They have survived the Walmart invasion pretty well so far. read more

For some reason I find this Albertson's to be a tad smaller than other ones, but I'm not sure I can prove it. Anyhow, there's not a whole lot of other grocery options around the area, so if you need some groceries and short on time, this place will do just fine. Been coming to this Albertsons almost my entire life. This is a great example of a good neighborhood market. The staff is always friendly and attentive. They always have everything organized and stocked. Staff is very engaging too which creates the friendly neighbor experience. Every time i check out no matter who the cashier is we have a conversation thats not just "hi" and "bye". It's almost guaranteed that I see someone I know while shopping there. Friend, teacher, family, even staff from other businesses around the area are common shoppers there. I always have a good time when shopping here. read more

This is the nicest Albertson's closest to us. Their soda selection is weak. They don't have the half n half I like. But they do have a better selection of cheese and the produce is always well stocked and fresh. They also don't stock kegs, but can order them. read more

I went to Albertsons today, mainly because I needed to stock up on key limes, I've been on this sort health craze/ stuff my gullet on occasion with pizza/beer/wings, I bought about 3 pounds worth of the limes, there actually really good for your body if you squeeze the juice into hot water, and drink it, also helps with weight loss, and digestion. Just a simple trip, when I went to check out I was greeted by an older lady, who had the body language of GMTFO of here, I smiled when I left, and said as I always do to have a good one, she still didn't smile. I'm guessing she was having a bad day, (I bet she was a fine piece back in the day) perhaps a night out on the town with a bit too many white wine spritzers, or whatever it is old ladies drink these days. Either way, I like going to Albertsons, and 90 percent of the time its pleasant and the staff is very nice, and they have good prices, and it's not as chaotic late at night as Walmart on Mesa. read more

Went to Albertson's 07/03/17 to buy their advertised special - Ground Beef at $2.97 pound. Naturally we had to buy 3lb packages to get that price. That was OK. We need a bit for our 4th of July festivities. When arrived at home, decided to divvy up the beef into smaller portions. To my surprise, the ground beef in the middle was brown and had funny smell. Why to they allow this to be practiced. It did not say in their ad that this was old ground beef for a lower price. I just threw the stuff in the trash can and decided on something else for the holidays. This practice is deceiving and should be stopped - especially from a reputable company like Albertson's. I can expect this maybe from a small store trying to make ends meet and selling old beef for newer fresher stuff. Very disappointed with this practice from this giant of the industry. read more
