Albertson's is one of the largest grocery chains in the USA and owns several brands found in various regions of the country to include itself as the flagship, SAFEWAY, ACME and others. The flagship brand tends to be found in the Midwest and Mountain West and all of the brands carry the same private level canned and frozen products, cheeses, butter, paper goods, bacon, hot dogs and so on. While grocery chains constantly complain that their margins are minuscule, and Albertson's is one of those chains that spews that bilge, the company is notorious for being grossly overpriced on both national brands and its private label offerings. During my military career and afterwards, when I lived in areas where the various regional Albertson's brands had stores, I ALWAYS sought out their competitors because I refused to pay their grossly inflated prices. What makes matters worse is that in the ACME stores we have nearby in NJ, the stores are often devoid of many of the essentials one would need for weekly shopping and those items that are on the shelves are, in many cases, significantly more expensive than competing brands like WEIS Markets and Shoprite. I'll be leaving NJ permanently in mid-2026 and wherever I end up, I pray that I won't be forced by lack of competition to have to shop in any Albertson's or its regional brands like SAFEWAY. read more

In the old self-checkout system, there was constant confusion over whether to form a single line or multiple lines. Albertsons has since resolved this with their new self-checkout system. It is excellent. It features more self-checkout stations and a clear single-line system with arrows indicating where to line up. However, the arrows are now obscured by tables, leading to renewed confusion. Today, people were lining up across the hall, similar to the old system, causing (1) confusion, since this contradicts the new system, (2) traffic blockage, and/or (3) standing so far back that they can't see when a self-checkout becomes available. Can we please maintain some order? Customers don't appreciate this kind of confusion. Or could the tables be moved so the arrows are visible again? read more

I've been shopping here for over 20 years. I've always been happy, but recently things are going downhill. There is never chicken ready before 10, which is annoying for those of us who like to shop early. The store opens at 6. It should be completely open, then. Also, several employees really act like they don't want to be there. I don't know the Deli woman's name, but when she was asked about the chicken, she said it would be 20 minutes, "if I can get to it." Didn't apologize at all. A few Sundays ago, there was an Alice who did nothing, but stand at the self checkout complaining about working. The checkers are all usually great. Judy and Marko are very pleasant. read more

I am a 38 year resident of Cheyenne. Was out of town for last 6 months, went into store and the Customer Service was horrible. They act like they are doing you a favor by being there. Seriously, they need new management , one that demands Customer Service by employees. read more

I had the nicest clerk tonight- a young man who chatted about his autism while he rang me up, helped me find a better deal on a product and made me feel great about my shopping experience. I live across town and feel pretty loyal to south side Safeway but I may pop in here more often. What a great guy. read more

I am writing this review solely for the deli. Purchasing a few things I needed, I stopped by the deli out of curiosity. I was extremely happy to find a plant based offering of a "chicken" dish. I purchased it immediately. This is the only Cheyenne grocery deli I know of that has a plant based entree selection. Kudos, Albertsons. There are a few vegetarians even in Wyoming. read more

Since the recent conversion of our local Albertson's (a remodel after the Safeway/Albertsons merger?) the store has dramatically gone down hill. My wife used to call this the "Yummy Albertson's," now it is the "Yucky Albertson's." You know how they say fresh fish has no odor? Even after a complete remodel, the fish & seafood area still smells. They expanded the self check-out (if I wanted to check out myself, I would go to wallyworld). This coincided with a reduction in cashiers, and I rarely see anyone available to bag groceries any more. Note to managers: When there is a cashier is available, NO ONE goes to the self-checkout. Albertson's supposedly has BUTCHERS in their meat department - the only local store that has them as far as I know. However, if you ask to get a specific cut that isn't on the shelf, you get told "well, it will be a while", or "we cant do that right now." Really? Isn't this their job?? Speaking of the meat department, my wife has actually had cashiers bitch at her because the the beef is leaking blood. Their meat department packed it. Not my wife. If there aren't any bags to over pack the meat, or wipes in the meat department, then what do you expect? Next time one of them bitches at my wife I will drag the cashier back to the meat department and tell her to vent on them. Now we come to today... In the seafood department. A man was re-stocking the shrimp in the glass display case from the customer side of the display. He picked up a bag of frozen shrimp off of his cart, slapped it against the FLOOR two or three times (to break apart the individual shrimp I assume), tore the bag open and dumped it into the case. I was so appalled that I just stood there and watched. After the third bag, I decided to go see if a manager was in house. I went to customer service and asked for a manager. After a few minutes a young lady showed up and I explained what I saw. She giggled a bit and looked at me to see if I was really serious, then told me she would "Go speak with someone". As she walked off, and I went to the aisle where my wife was checking out (no bagger, of course) the other employee's standing around the Customer Service Desk started laughing. Albertsons is the closest store to me. Every time I go there out of something. There shelves are empty most of the time. When I went yesterday to get something they said it was on the truck and they would have it tomorrow. Went back tonight and they said sorry it wasn't on the truck. It's too the point I would rather drive to King Soopers knowing there shelves are full and I can get everything need. It's a disappointment how much this store has declined. read more

This is my go to grocery store to get my shopping done because of its location. Cleanliness- The inside of the store is usually pretty clean, I haven't come across anything disgusting, any spills, etc. Quality- Their produce always looks fresh. I have yet to see any products that are on the shelf and expired. The only disappointing aspect is when there isn't any fresh soup made, especially on a cold winters eve. Organization- The store is laid out pretty well. When I have asked employees where to find an item, they can direct me. I rarely have issues of them not being stocked with desired items. Staff-Overall the staff is nice and helpful, but there sure are 2-3 employees that could use an etiquette class, one of them being, from what I gathered, a customer service manager. I wish I could remember the managers name, I would file a complaint on her with Corporate. I notice this store often price marks things wrong. I will look at my receipt and notice that is not the price it is listed as. I go to the customer service desk and ask for assistance with this issue, often get helped by "the manager:" She acts as if helping a customer is an inconvenience. She will literally huff and puff and roll her eyes when describing the problem. The first two times, I thought maybe she was having a rough day but if you have this poor of an attitude maybe you should take a vacation. Just when I thought they couldn't get any worse, they did it. Store is dirty, produce is usually gross, management is less than one star. I have used this store on and off for the last 12 years and live with in walking distance. I will not go back, I'll make the drive to King soopers. I have this store one star only because the sole checker was nice and efficient. Because King Soopers usually has both a better selection and better prices I usually patronize that store. But I was in the neighborhood and needed only a couple of items, so I went here. The bakery goods were depleted. In spite of there being a substantial number of customers only one checkout stand with a checker was open. Everyone in line complained.I know one of the reasons prices are set in the store is to pay employees. Be nice if they hired some so those of us who do not want to use self checkout would not have to stand in line for 20 or more minutes. read more

Nice little grocery store that I've gone to for years. My best friend and I used to take a walk there in the early morning to grab a donut and juice before school. Good place to pick up the odd bits and bobs you might need for cooking, cleaning, or regular household upkeep. Sometimes quiet, but always friendly staff. Attentive at self checkout when errors arise, and willing to go above and beyond when helping customers. Highly recommend. read more

I ordered a white birthday cake with white frosting and pink trim, and I included a picture of one. When we got the cake home, it was a green cake with two huge poinsettias! We had to laugh the cake was so ugly and the frosting must have been 1/2" thick! We'll go elsewhere for our cakes from now on. read more

Horrible store. Never enough cashiers. Parking lots are always a disaster. Employees take a smoke breaks right by the front of the store where you walk through a mountain of smoke every time you walk anywhere. Unless it's winter time they don't ever smoke when it's winter time. But there's a constant somebody out on the front north east corner of the building anytime I go there smoking and you walk through it on your way to the store. Not to mention putting hot chicken right next to your eight dollar cheesecake that's on its side. Not on the bottom of the bag with the bread or the chips or any of the other light items on top. Seems like a standard Albertsons. Has a Starbucks inside. I was happy with the fresh food that I bought.

I needed some leeks on the way home for Christmas. This was the most convenient grocer on the way, so we stopped in here and picked a couple up. The quality of all the produce seemed pretty good, and the service was great. The cashier was very friendly and courteous. read more

This is my go-to-store. The customer service is extraordinary and their employees really care about their customers. From the bakery to the deli; all superb. Just found their chicken salad, made fresh...Oh MY it was soooo good. The produce person helped me pick out grapes. The general manger is always available if I have questions. I wanted hot fried chicken for lunch and told the man behind the counter please get me the 8 pc fried chicken and I would like some that just came out of the cooker. He took offense by that and said are you all through shopping beause if your not the chicken may taste old by the time you get home. He said it all had just come out of the cooker!
