They were local and I phoned around and they seemed quite reasonable in price compared to their competitors. They have the expertise I needed. Their knowledge seemed extensive. The chap that came to help seemed to know how to care for trees, it was what I wanted. The tree turned out to be no hazard to the building, but he did a great job pruning the branches and we had a good old chat about the environment whilst he worked. If you want a reliable tree surgeon these are the guys for you.

I had previously gone to it with an axe out of frustration, quite aware that it would be to no avail however, which was probably for the best. Once they arrived they chuckled at the evidence of my feeble attempts to fell this behemoth tree. I realised what an enormous task it was when they arrived with their batmobile of tree surgery equipment. It took quite some time to safely get this wise old tree to submit but I had every confidence that they knew what they doing. Finally, my garden is no longer the same without the towering wooden guardian. So if you have a neurotic neighbour who is particularly precious about their wall then these guys will resolve the conflict if you're kind enough to call them.

When I used to work for a housing association, Butco were our contractors for all things…read moreboiler-related, so I used to speak to them at least once or twice a day. By and large they were OK, although the service seemed to be a bit hit & miss: sometimes they were really quick and efficient at sorting out repair issues, other times things seemed to drag on and on. Their office staff were always great - really efficient, friendly and they knew their stuff. Julie who worked there was particularly on the ball - I'm not sure if she'd been there any longer than the rest of the staff, or if she was just really capable. Either way, if Julie was onto it then by and large you'd get your problem sorted. We never received many complaints about Butco - other than sometimes being slower off the mark than people would have liked, but that's just busyness for you, and you can't really blame a company for that!

They recently fitted a small part during a boiler service with no additional labour charges. Other companies had quoted 30 minutes of extra labour for the job which took only seconds.
