I also recently had my wedding, and Julie did my mom's hair, Kathy did my updo and a bridesmaid's updo, and Barbara did my mother-in-laws hair and another bridesmaid's updo. Everyone looked amazing and were so happy with how things turned out, and the prices were super reasonable. Kathy does amazing updos and was so easy to work with for my trial and on the big day. She listened to everything I asked and was very receptive to my comments and concerns, which resulted in my loving my hair on the wedding day. She also put a hairpiece in for me which didn't move the entire night, even with lots of dancing! I love this place :)

Being a white male, I assume i was not their usual customer, but I got one of the best, cleanest and sharpest cuts. Despite a language barrier (Portuguese, not English), the barber communicated well, sharing his Portuguese heritage and 30+ years of experience. He was more precise than any white barber shop I've visited, complete with a neck shave to finish it off. To top it off, the price was great too $18! Are you kidding me?! They offer cuts, wash, styling, coloring, blow-dry, etc. They also have manicures and pedicures, but they don't have the chairs for the pedicures that are often seen at nail salons. There are two nail stations and six hair stations. I pay $10 for eyebrow shaping and waxing, which is about as cheap as it gets. Trimming my long hair costs about $15. There's plenty of metered parking, but on Saturday mornings, you probably won't find a spot. If you do manage to park, they're usually busy, but you can run across the square to Dunkin's for a coffee while you wait. This definitely isn't an uppity salon found on Newbury Street, but everything is clean and bright. Hardwood floors, decent decor and mirrors make it a great find in the middle of Chelsea. The one downside are the bathrooms in the basement. They're kind of a weird setup, but I don't go there to use the loo. You might not want to drink too much coffee.

Age is a sensitive topic for a lot of women and I usually don't mind but in his attempt to make conversation he really severely overestimated my age. It's actually quite comical to recall now. While working on my hair he tried to ask me the typical questions about what I do and where I'm from. He talked about coming straight from Italy and the brutal winters here. This was my first Ouidad cut with Shauna and she knows her curls :) She is a pro when it comes to recommending great products from the line and technique.
