On 10/09/2025, I underwent a bursectomy performed through Desert Orthopedic Center at Eisenhower Medical Center. I was discharged after surgery without a splint on my elbow. Within a few weeks, at a follow-up appointment, the physician observed that the surgical wound had reopened. I have photographic documentation of the open wound. I was then informed that I would require a second surgery to close it properly. On 11/10/2025, I underwent a second procedure to repair the wound. This time, I was sent home with a splint. I then endured another full month of recovery, additional medical appointments, additional time off, and additional physical and emotional stress. Despite the fact that this second surgery was necessitated by the failure of the original surgical outcome, I was billed for the second procedure. It is unreasonable and unacceptable to charge a patient a second time for corrective surgery when the initial procedure did not heal properly. In addition to the financial burden, I experienced prolonged pain, inconvenience, extended recovery, and disruption to my life. I am formally requesting a full billing review and appropriate financial resolution for the second surgery and related follow-up care. Patients should not bear the financial consequences of complications that stem from their medical care. I urge both Desert Orthopedic Center and Eisenhower Health to review their post-operative discharge protocols and billing practices to ensure accountability and prevent similar experiences for other patients.

My experience with Dr. Seth Goldstein,…read more I wanted to share my experience today (7/2025) at the Lifekind location in Rancho Mirage, CA (previously SAVAS health). Today was my first pain management appointment. On July 10th, I had my initial assessment appointment with NPI Kristen Hickok and her assistant. I answered all of their questions and also brought up to both of them, specifically, that I was NOT interested in the chiropractic portion of the program because when I had tried the program two years prior, I was very uncomfortable with the doctor (Dr. Seth Goldstein) and it was very painful for me; he was still treating at this location. They both assured me that I wouldn't have to partake in the chiropractic portion of the program, so we proceeded. Fast forward to today -- I show up on time for my appointment & I filled out the lengthy packet of paperwork beforehand. I end up waiting over two hours and only have spoken to the coordinator & "Medical". Again, I told them all (3 other people) that I was NOT interested in the chiropractic portion of the program. By now I'm in a lot more pain, I'm uncomfortable, and still waiting to see three other practitioners. Finally my name is called, and which room do I go to?, Dr. Seth's. Now I'm upset and am being triggered at the thought of having to talk to Dr. Seth. I AGAIN explained to HIS ASSISTANT that I was NOT INTERESTED in speaking to him or doing chiropractic work. So she leaves, and in walks Dr. Seth. I'm sitting in a corner, visibly crying and upset, he comes in and sits over me, somewhat close and starts barading me with questions. Asks me what happened last time that made me so upset, and at first I told him it was just very painful and I don't need the chiropractic portion of the program (trying to be unproblematic). I asked why do I need to do this part, and he said "it's part of the program". Then I told him that I was told at the assessment I didn't have to worry about doing the chiro portion, and he said that was "wrong information". Then he again, with a terrible attitude, asked me what happened last time. Then I bluntly told him it was him, that he made me very uncomfortable and the treatments gave me more pain. He again repeated that it's part of the program and I again asked why I had to do it? Then he speaks not nicely again and asks if I'm just there for the drugs? And I said no, actually, I don't want any medication (you can check that against multiple sources as well); I am interested in the acupuncture, behavioral therapy, massage therapy and physical therapy though. He again repeated that the chiro is part of the program, and I said then forget it, remove me from the program if I have to work with you. I left crying -- no one apologized or stopped to check on me on the way out. I feel completely ridiculed, I am triggered and in no way should any patient ever be treated that way. He absolutely had no right to treat me that way or talk down to me the way he did. I will never return to Lifekind.

To complicate the diagnosis I also had two other confirmed diagnoses of my knee. One doctor suggested a surgical procedure to correct one diagnosis of my knee. Another doctor said I needed a knee replacement, I did not. My Ortho doctor that I trust, confirmed that I did not need a knee replacement. Dr Tailor, who does not perform surgical procedures but looks for alternatives to surgery, determined that some of the pain in my knee was radiating from my hip and referred me back to my other, (Dr Tailor being one of them now) favorite Ortho Doctor Dustin Briggs for a hip replacement. I had the hip surgery about four months ago and the pain in my knee has definitely diminished. I still have some minor pain in my knee and still have the initial two diagnoses of my knee but the pain is not as severe. I am currently seeing Dr Tailor and he is trying options to determine what will work best. As he said, he likes to solve mysteries. He is wonderful, inquisitive and caring and has several options available, we shall see which one works. I highly recommend him. I like that surgery will be the last option, not the first.
