Albert Heijn is just one of those brands you can't escape in The Netherlands, so I wasn't surprised to see them here in the country's largest Airport, Amsterdam Schiphol, the store is fairly small as an "AH To Go" location, but still has a decent section of essentials including bottled snacks, drinks and a coffee machine.
It's located before security, meaning you don't need a boarding pass to enter here, and it can be particularly useful if you're looking to grab a drink or snack after departing your flight before commencing your way into the city.
I was unable to find one of the items that I came into the store from, they only had the small kid's sized cartons of milk compared to the larger size, which was frustrating.
Prices did seem a little higher than other Albert Heijn locations in the city, probably down to it being an Airport location.
The self-service checkouts were easy to use and had an English option, I didn't notice a staffed checkout or any staff members around the store.
3* - The store is fairly modern, the selection is OK, and is useful if you want to grab a quick drink after your flight, if you are able to wait until you get into the city you'll probably find a better selection with lower prices at another Albert Heijn or similar store. read more
