The office staff was friendly & I didn't wait long in the waiting room. The hygienist was gentle & thorough. She took X-rays, too. Dr Cho's dental assistant was also friendly & professional. He took an impression of one of my broken teeth & explained that the second tooth would be taken care of at a following appointment. I mentioned that the sound of the dental drill set my nerves on end. He suggested some earphones with my preferred music might help. He set that up. Dr. Cho came in to prepare my tooth for a crown. He was gentle, informative, professional, & friendly. I left the office with only slight numbing & a lot of confidence that I was well-taken care of. I will actually look forward to going to the dentist as long as I go to Dr Cho & his staff.

My Ortho recommended him so I called and the front desk picked up and just a hello, I had to ask her if this was Dr. Rowe and she said yes. I told her that he was recommended by my Ortho and wanted to set up a consult and I also wanted to see what my insurance coverage would look like. "Well what insurance do you have?" I told her and she listed the ones that they took (mine's was listed) and she said she can't say if they are in network (fair enough). I asked if I can give her my insurance information to confirm (cause I figure she would need that info when I go in and see him). And very hesitantly she said "that would mean I have to call them." And I'm like okay. And quickly she said "well I can't call today" and I said okay. She asks for my insurance and I gave it to her and the funny thing is, she didn't ask for my phone number (maybe she has caller ID), but nope, it's been two week and nothing and not even a follow up about setting up the appointment. I asked around for a different oral surgeon in the area and what a difference to have someone do their job and set the appointment and get the insurance information and was able to confirm everything at the first meeting. I don't know if Dr. Rowe looks at these reviews but I made sure the referring orthodontist knows about the front desk service.

I first saw him in the early 2000s, and the work he did then is still going strong. The more recent work is also great. I've had a couple of veneers, some root canals and crowns, and regular fillings. She recommended that I get a CT scan of my jaw, because she noticed a bump on my tooth and she thought it might be cancerous. I was feeling pretty overwhelmed, and needed a minute to process before making a decision on getting the CT scan. She told me that I had no time to think about it, because the CT scan nurse's shift was about to be over; so I needed to decide. And she told me she had a lot of other clients waiting. I anxiously rushed into getting the CT scan, which also wasn't covered by my insurance. She was rushing me out the door the entire appointment, even looking at the CT scan results as we were walking out to pay. All in all, she said the scan looked great and everything was fine. I left feeling genuinely confused, rushed, and with $400 less in my pocket. I was in so much pain and just looking for answers, I was not feeling very taken care of. She said I can make an appointment in at least 4+ weeks after consultation, because they need to verify my insurance. They quoted me $6,000 to remove 3 wisdom teeth. I ended up going to California oral surgery in Huntington Beach & had a great experience. They removed all 4 teeth, covered by my insurance for $1,200. I was able to make an appointment to get my wisdom teeth removed, just 1 week after my consultation. Do not go to this Long Beach oral and maxillofacial surgery center, they will rush you into paying for services, charge you for anything they can, and not care about your well being.
