Last year "Cardinello" closed, I have been told because the owners of the place wanted to take over the successful business of the people who had been running it for years. Despite the redecorating and the fact that the restaurant is still situated in the same idyllic spot in beautiful Gravedona, "Le Terrazze" is nothing like "Cardinello" was. The service is so-so, some of the waiters far from being up to it, the food is a far cry from what it used to be - and the atmosphere is just dull. We tried "Le Terrazze" last year, and were disappointed. This year, since we have loved "Cardinello" so much, we tried it again. What a disaster! I was even food poisoned, first time ever in Italy, where I am NEVER concerned about (food)hygiene. I spent the day after in the bathroom. Please, can someone shut down "Le Terrazze" and reopen "Cardinello"?
