Next, tried the Entrecôte which was nice, accompanied by some lightly pan fried potatoes. My meal was very late as the kitchen made the wrong dish, so my husband and I each ate separately. The place was always full, and vibrant, with guests waiting for a table at the bar, and busy, professional waiters. Last year "Cardinello" closed, I have been told because the owners of the place wanted to take over the successful business of the people who had been running it for years. Despite the redecorating and the fact that the restaurant is still situated in the same idyllic spot in beautiful Gravedona, "Le Terrazze" is nothing like "Cardinello" was. The service is so-so, some of the waiters far from being up to it, the food is a far cry from what it used to be - and the atmosphere is just dull. We tried "Le Terrazze" last year, and were disappointed. This year, since we have loved "Cardinello" so much, we tried it again. What a disaster! I was even food poisoned, first time ever in Italy, where I am NEVER concerned about (food)hygiene. I spent the day after in the bathroom. Please, can someone shut down "Le Terrazze" and reopen "Cardinello"?

There is a smaller eating area when escorted slightly through the kitchen. The service was friendly here. The prices of the pizzas are inexpensive, the rest of the menu is normally priced. The pizza menus is expansive, so if one is vegetarian your best bet is a pizza. All pizzas contain gluten however. I recommend the grilled Lavarello dish. Simple and light. Actually the food here is simply made, nothing too creative, but a solid choice for dinner.

They got our order wrong and 2 people did not get their pizza. After complaining they finally arrived long after everyone was done eating and one came out burned outside and raw in the center. After complaining they did not want to take it off the bill and only gave me a partial cash refund, I guess the bite my father in law took to find out the dough was raw has to be remunerated. Finally the lady threw the bill at me for complaining. Skip this place if you have a choice.
