Dr Pandya's primary office is in Troy and reviews were positive. I was pleased to learn he was on Rt 146 and very close to my location. He was pleasant, spent time with me and agreed with me that despite my bunions and pain I was not a surgical candidate. He ordered an x-ray which showed nothing serious, addressed the foot pain and steps to take with proper shoes. He was attentive and professional and his staff as well. She led me into a room that hadn't been cleaned, nail clippings everywhere, while she was vacuuming them up I glanced into another room and that was dirty also. The Medical Assistant who checked me in at the clinic called over to Ortho NY to see if a doctor was available. Within 15 minutes, I was escorted to the Ortho NY office on the same floor. I felt fortunate to be able to see a MD without a scheduled appointment. Within a reasonable amount of time, I had X-rays taken and Dr. Polishchuk, an orthopedic MD, met with me. He evaluated the X-rays and asked me questions about my pain. Not only was he knowledgeable, he had excellent interpersonal skills. He was a good listener and communicator. He diagnosed my condition as Lumbar Sciatica. He explained a treatment plan of OTC meds and exercise. He gave me a printout of home exercises as well as a script for Physical Therapy. Office staff 5 stars Medical Assistant 5 stars Xray tech 5 stars plus! Physician 5 stars plus! Waiting rooms and parking were great.

He was very patient, answered all of our questions as well as making sure we understood everything he was explaining. We did not feel at all rushed and were encouraged to ask him about anything that that was of any concern with regard to my mothers recovery. I just got off the phone with my insurance asking why it cost another nearly $160 despite paying 2 $40 co-pays. They said although my daughter did not have an "open" surgery, because of the type of "practice" it is, they are ALLLOWED to bill as a "closed surgery", despite stating there was no hands-on or manipulation of my daughter's foot. She had been seen and x-ray'ed prior at urgent care and she was only coming to this ortho for the fitting of a boot. Basically stated, the fitting of her boot was considered a "surgery". Complete BS and unethical. I am posting this so others consider other locations before this one to save yourself a hefty bill!!!! PS- you know it's shady when even your insurance company couldn't believe they'd sink that low.
